blue eyes peeked from the long foliage. the young archer was hunting. she moved slowly, carefully, allowing the night's rays to wash over her coat. the cloudless sky did not do much for the weather's advantage; it was a clear, humid night. Vesper mused to herself that only fat and lazy prey would be around. she tried to get closer to one herd earlier, but they took off as fast as she had come.

now, she lifted her head from the grass and called out to anyone in the vicinity. she might as well ask for help - as begrudgingly as that was - to bring down something of note. she lowers her skull back down, allowing any lion to come and seek her out by smell alone. the call would alert nearby prey, but again, perhaps there existed some that were fat and stupid. and lazy.

The Fields seemed to be a common area for the wheaten woman; her search for the warthogs from earlier having ended up with very little. As though they feared to return to the watering hole to avoid seeing specifically her. Though as she rolled her shoulders in an effort to soothe her sore muscles from the last chase, the call of another lion rose through. Maude instantly wheeling herself in their direction as she would never turn the opportunity for food. So once she found the lioness and crept near to them, Maude gave a subtle but likeable nod as she was quite prepared to aside this perfectly good stranger for a good meal.

The large lioness stalked the night, breaking its quietude with her brash steps that crunched every dry stem at every angle that could possibly rustle. The night was clear. All the easier to see delicious prey mingling from far away. All the easier for them to see her coming, as they most often did. The herd tended to conglomerate far away from her; approaching them was like approaching a mountain which never seemed to get any closer. Her dry tongue was frustrated, slashing in and out of worn leathers, absently re-moisturizing then panting again. Humidity attracted flies around her nostrils and tear ducts.

She needed to eat something. Anything. She heard a chuff for a hunt and that seemed like another possibility. She didn't know these lions and maybe they would drive her off, or maybe they would be nice or weak and she could shoulder in on a kill. She approached drooling but with head bent, pre-emptively repentant for crimes she could not help committing. "HI. Ya huntin'?" she greeted them boisterously, without regard for her noise level. Her tail lashed, agitated-friendly, hoping that this group would work. Anything that got her food would work.

3 years, Ranger lvl 0, no bonus.

Her gaze cast up at the clear night sky the orange faced lioness watched the stars. The light that casted over the landscape made it not ideal to hunt, but she’d take the rays of the night to the blistering hot sun. Slowly she made her way through the landscape her head and body low. Arjana had been watching the herds earlier and even had tried to hunt a hare but the thing had slipped away. The small snack really hadn’t been worth the. effort, but now she was starting to really get hungry.

She had been about to leave when she heard the call of another inviting everyone around to a hunt. Raising a brow she nodded to herself. Yes teaming up would indeed be good right about now. So she perked her ears and followed the sound to the source. Making her way there carefully she came up to a small group shortly after the call had been heard. Hearing someone speak she narrowed her grey eyes at them. ”Don’t scare away the food big mouth.” She very softly whispered as she showed herself to them all. ”Arjana.” She than briefly added in the same hushed whisper as before.

a pig.

"good work" she says to those that gathered, stepping back to allow them first dibs. they were all rogues - save for one lioness that didn't smell like a pride she knew - but it didn't matter. they all did their part. she was content to share with them. four lions were better than none - and they got the prey in the end.

she glances around at each of them. "I'm Vesper" the young woman adds, in case they needed introductions. not that she minded giving her name, but it was just weary after such a hunt. sitting down, she waits for her turn to eat. the moonstone would rather they all left before she did though. "dig in."

the moon still hung in the sky above them. Vesper was cautious during the entire activity, making sure she did not stick out like a sore thumb. it did not matter to the sparse clouds; her silver worked in tandem to the others.

Once the hunt is over, Maude is officially able to put her bright eyes upon those that had helped. Just a fair few that she could count on one paw. The "host" or the "caller" was a female with a mane that led the older woman to be quite jealous of. That alone was such a rarity that it practically caught her off guard.

Those locks were long, weighted but flawlessly beautiful. Though, a little young but that was to expected. Most she came across seemed to be on the younger side -- had those of her generation died off or found some sort of retirement plan early? Another that was present was just about the right age but it was clear from the beginning that something didn't connect. Perhaps too many wallops as a child?

Either way, she brushed it off as best she could while her eyes took her to the other dark coated woman. An Arjana, if she remembered, given right before the initial hunt. The moon-eyed youth introducing herself as Vesper which meant that she likely should introduce herself now. Such social niceties; where the take it and go? Maude. The wheat woman expressed with a tight lip, eyes circling those that were present for the bush pig until permission was given to dig in. Maude didn't, however, and instead chose to linger and let those already present take a bite.

The prey had been a feisty pig, but thankfully the group had luck on their side for the hunt. Even though she had been worried that @Walpurgis had scared off all the prey with her loud mouth earlier the hunt had still been a success.

Panting Arjana took a second to catch her breath as the one who lead the hunt spoke, and then the other lady. Nodding her head to them she took a moment before finally speaking herself. ”Yes great work everyone.” She cooed softly. They all had a part to do in this hunt and did it well. They got their prey and no one got hurt which was a major win in her book.

”Pleasure to meet you Vesper, Maude.” Grey eyes looked at the last girl curiously before she looked back at the others. ”In case you didn’t hear before. I am Arjana.” She added simply as she moved closer to the pig. Never one to turn away food and having worked for it she took a few bites. Eating only her share as she listened to the world around her for any chatter.

When finished with her share she moved away cleaning her mouth and paws. Looking up at the sky she smiled again. ”The weather held well.” The orange faced lady noted before she stood once more. ”Well I hate to dine and dash, but I really must be off. Thank you all for the hunt.” Nodding her head again as she politely spoke she walked off a little bit to give the others room around the food.

Maude. Arjana. she'd remember these names. Vesper turns to the rather loud hunter, wondering if it was inexperience that caused her to try and scare off prey. not that it mattered in the end. each ate their fill in that particular end. Vesper would move to the other side of the pig, chewing and gulping quietly in the presence of others.

once the prey was spent, she would give a brief nod to Arjana who began to trail off. her eyes tried to lock with Maude, shooting the older woman a grateful look. Vesper was not one for idle chit-chat, so she merely waited for all gathered to leave before leaving herself. if anything more was said, she would attempt to answer best she could.

Maude was silent as she watched those around her take whatever of the pig they wished to have. As a rogue lioness she knew that she should be jumping on the play of grabbing whatever she could since she wouldn't be sure when her next good meal would be, but she kept her distance. The space between herself and others respectable yet distanced enough that she was there for little reason other than some good fun.

The wheat woman was an independent thing and didn't exactly butt into other's lives but she was pleased to have their names in any case. For now they likely wouldn't mean much or come into any usefulness but in the event they did, she might be set. So Maude nodded her head to the two women whose names she now knew and allowed them to have the carcass. It's been fun ladies. Eventually casting her gaze to each of them before doing exactly what needed to be done - end the awkward visitation that simply gave Maude the shivers. exit maude.
