Reina sat quietly as Zaahir addressed the rest of the pride. When he got to the Saxe girl, he agreed to give her the rank. Reina offered a polite smile then, “Thanks, I’ll do the best I can,” she finally said.

Now it was time to take things more seriously. An opportunity had presented itself and she had taken it. Now there was no reason for her to simply stay home. She had a job to do, and she would make sure she did it well.

She needed to make some friends anyway. Tomorrow she would start searching for lions within the other prides. Befriending them seemed like the easiest option, but she knew not everyone wanted a friend. Especially not with a Saxe… That’s why she had chosen not to flaunt the name or anything. She got to her paws and then made her way back to her den, deciding that rest would be the best option for now.

Jet felt the shadow of someone moving into place beside him as he finished speaking, the presence momentarily catching him off guard, but as he turned his head to take them in his heart soared with relief. “Mom,” he greeted through a breathy sigh, the casual smile on his face transforming into one reminiscent of the bright child he used to be. Not just @Azula had returned, he realized, but @Lazaris as well, seating herself on his other side. Sandwiched between the two remaining members of his family—he wished Garnet the best wherever her wandering paws had taken her—he felt whole. Complete.

And so deeply optimistic. They both set about getting @Zaahir ♔’s attention, making their cases for how they would help the pride and where best their services might be put to use. Lazaris surprised him by opting out of the bruiser route their mother had set before them—he shot her a skeptical look, though he could hardly blame her with as little as he enjoyed sparring—and instead presented herself as a hunter. Well. If Jet was capable of dragging his lazy ass out on hunts, then his much more capable sister was sure to show them all up if this was what she wished to set her mind to.

Returning his attention to Zaahir, Jet smiled broadly upon receiving a promotion—Gentry. The details would sort themselves out in time, he figured, but since his proposition had involved recruitment he assumed most of his time would be spent focused there. All good and well. He saw himself as a capable orator, claiming the ability to draw others in with his words if he wished. Now was his chance to prove it. “I’d be honored,” he answered, bowing his head in thanks. His eyes went wide at the sudden, unexpected bump of his mother’s head to his, a rare public show of affection which he beamed over. It filled him with pride to know he was following in her footsteps, taking up the Gentry title where she once had. Maybe he was doing something right.

Both his mother and sister received their desired ranks—Lazaris once again surprising him by declining something with even a hint of authority behind it, but while he again looked to her with questions in his eyes, Jet kept them quietly to himself. Perhaps later, once everyone was settled, when the pride was settled, he could get some explanation out of her. He was incredibly curious. But for the time being… “Well, I guess I should start working on my pitch,” he said cheekily as his family was already beginning to leave. Unable to stop smiling at this point, he rose to his paws and followed them, likely to trail his sister and annoy her by workshopping whatever phrases he might use to entice rogues to join their cause.

"My children and I will stay for now," she offers with a half-hearted shrug. Nyaxia has never enjoyed the oasis, has always been itching to leave, but she feels it is the only place where Harou will be able to find her when he inevitably returns. Wherever he has gone, he will return. She knows he will. Only the most wicked of men would abandon their wife during the moments when she needed him the most, and he certainly isn't one of those. Right?

Nyaxia shifts her weight as she comes to settle by her daughter, brushing against her reassuringly.

Another latecomer arrived as others accepted their new ranks and headed off into the night, and his attention would shift to the lilac woman as she settled by one of the youth. "Okay. Who are your children?" He assumed one was the girl she'd settled beside, but she'd used the plural so there must have been others, right? He hoped to get names, or some vague description, so that he'd know they were supposed to be there if he happened across them later. Although, really, the odds of him tossing a random cub out on their own were pretty low if the cub hadn't done anything really annoying.
