This midday was warmer than it had been along the shoreline in the past months, and although a heavy blanket of angry clouds blotted out the sun overhead it was rather dry along the more forested part of the beach farther from the waterline. Rose had her nose down against the earth as something caught her attention. Looking up she left out a chuff - calling for her friends at the cove and alerting them to the fact that she'd found something wandering where it did not belong, probably something they could use to fill their food cache! Warmer weather often meant now life in prides, and though she didn't know of many cubs still inhabiting their boarders, or elderly who would need to be fed, she did know they currently lacked anyone in charge of keeping them well stocked so that there would be plenty for those who could not help themselves. It seemed like a good enough reach to take on the task herself as she began to stalk forward while trying to identify what exactly she'd caught the scent of.

When the chuff sounds, Guy heaves herself to her feet and shakes sea spray out of her coat. The golden lioness recognized her friend's noise, of course, and picked her way towards the sound with eager ears and flaring nostrils. As she neared Rose, she caught the scent as well. Oryx.

Her claws slid free from her paws and she dragged her paws along the sand ground. Guy licks her snout and nods, before she dips out of sight of Rose, following the trail in a wide semicircle. Once she's behind the Oryx, Guy sprints towards it, springing from her cover and swinging her paw.

The intent is clear, at least: hit the beast and send it towards Rose, so Rose can help corral it and drive it along.

Or at least Guy hopes it's clear.

PYRRHA TOLLAIRE

The Sovereign of Caladan comes to join the hunt. The sounds of pursuit are a beat in her ears that drives down into her heart and curls up there. A force of power and necessity. Her pride needs to eat and she'll be damned before ensuring she is there to help provide. Before she misses a chance to feel worthwhile and needed. Her claws scrape at the ground and she comes running towards the sounds- slowly catching up to the party before wordlessly falling into step with them and launching a few attacks of her own on the beast with the impressive horns.

Two familiar figures materialize around Rose, she knew she could count on queen @Pyrrha ♔ to answer her summons, the strawberry queen was always busy working for her pride! She was also happy to recognize @Guy as the moved to take down what she now recognized as an Oryx. The creature's impressive horns would be a challenge, but she was sure the trio could take it on.

As Pyrrha launched the first few attacks as the already panicking creature Rose carefully attempted to get around it to the other side, hoping the three of them would be able to surround it enough to cut off any escape and one of her companions would be able to get a clean shot it. She did hate the "something has to die" aspect of hunting, even if she enjoyed the thrill of the hunt itself. She also enjoyed the "not dying from starvation" part too.

She watches as Rose cuts off one avenue of escape for the would be meal. Pyrrha takes her advantage and she leaps for the left hind quarter of the beast. One of her paws wraps around and over it's spine while the other grasps down towards the soft under belly. She aims to dive her teeth in and hold on tight while then her hind legs begin to dangle and drag- skipping over the ground every so often. Pyrrha tried to hold on, to tire the beast out and force it to slow down to a point where one of the other two could jump for the neck and get a well aimed shot in and hopefully take this thing down.
