Guy isn't having a great time here. Something's done torn up this here place; the air's all ashy, and everything smells burnt. Gross. Unseemly. Not that she really cares. In truth, Guy's just glad to have something to grouse about in this weird place.

The big woman stretches out her body. Her paws press down on burned plants, kick up little ashy puffs. She's going to have to clean her feet later, and that'll be a whole affair 'cause of her big ole fuzzy paws and them webbed toes. Guy can't find the mind to be irritated, though.

Instead, she exhales roughly out her nose and drags her claws against the ashy dirt-- and then, see, she spots some green there. Could be a vine. Probably is a vine. She gives it a little touch with the tips of her claws, then begins to follow it.

Damned long fine, isn't it? Guy chuckles to herself. 's kind of funny.

How interesting. Here was a lion (she had no sense of smell and therefore couldn't tell that she was looking at another woman until she spoke at some point) that was almost the exact inverse of colors as her father. Yellow with a black mane instead of black with a yellow mane. Fun, though. You have speckles in your mane! she pronounced as she approached with a delighted giggle. Oh, what did you find? she asked, seeing the spot of green the other woman was examining. There were so many interesting things to find here, she knew, so she wondered what exactly it was that had caught her eye now. It wasn't the other ghost cubs she liked to play with, sadly, but no doubt it would still be something fun.

Alright, now. What was this. Guy looked up, her mane rustling. "Oh! Er, yeah Ah do." Her voice is deep, honeysuckle. "Ah got lotsa speckles, actually." Guy raises a paw, gesturing to herself, to the freckles that dot her forelegs, her face, her mane. "Mah ma done said these were m'best quality, b'lieve it or not."

A question posed. Guy twists her ears. "Ah foun' some kinda plant, truth told." Guy sits back, drags her claws through her mane in thought. "Ah done found this here vine. Ah suppose it's worth followin', ain't it?" And with that, she gets back to her task, following the vine, amused at the length of it. When she finds the first leaves, though, Guy makes a noise and prods them with a claw.

"Well, a'right. You seen leaves like this before?"

Guy has-- but she wants to see what this-- uh. This here lil' thing knows. For fun, and for the sake of it.

She realized her assumption of the lion's sex was entirely wrong the moment @Guy opened her mouth, but she wasn't phased by it in the slightest. Just rather intrigued by her accent, if anything. Yona might have commented on it if she hadn't immediately been distracted by the various speckles the woman showed her. Oh yeah! I can see why, Yona said. They were rather delightful spots and speckles, in her mind.

What? Had she seen leaves like that before? Uhhh, yeah they were on a pumpkin, but I never saw a vine like that before, she said. Actually, I hadn't seen a pumpkin before a little while ago either. I grew up in the desert, she explained. Obviously, varied plant life wasn't a thing she had gotten before she followed her friend to these lands on his adventure and her strange draw to them.

Well, Guy wasn't the sort who received a lot of compliments, so the strange cub giving her a bit of a thumbs up about the freckles made Guy grin slightly. Her ears flicked back, pinned, and she chuckled sheepishly, moving along the vine. "Well, jeez. Thankya."

But the cub knows! Nice. "See, yeah! These're pumpkin vines." Guy tugs it a bit, and picks up the pace a little, even if she's not the fastest. She's athletic, sure, but she's still big, moving a lot of bulk. "Now Ah--"

Whatever she was gonna say skids to a halt along with her. Guy lets out a long, low whistle. That there's the biggest dang pumpkin she's ever seen. The lioness circles it. "Hoo-ee! Y'see that?" A paw sets against it. "Ain't that some'n?" For a moment, forgetting herself, Guy thinks i've got to show the family-

but then she remembers none of them are here, and she huffs a little, momentarily feeling her spirits drop. "Ah wonder how many of you could fit in there." A little joke.

I didn't know they grew on vines, she admitted. There were so many things about the world that she didn't know, clearly. But it made sense because she was young still and therefore had plenty of time to learn. She actually had even more time than she was aware of, but that was beside the point.

Yona followed along behind @Guy, keeping up fairly well despite their size difference. She too went sliding to a halt, and it was only because she was incorporial that she didn't slam into her newfound friend. Small favors.

Oh wow, that one's way bigger than the other ones I've seen! she said as she approached it. At least two of me, she giggled. One of these I found was full of treasures but the others had weird stuff in them, she concluded, regarding the vegetable warily as she waited to see if it was going to do something.

double, double toil and trouble;
fire burn, and cauldron bubble...

Nafasi watches from the bushes, never once letting herself be seen by those huddled around her perfectly-placed pumpkins. They really were a curious bunch, weren't they? But, unfortunately for them, the sprite was feeling extra mischievous today, and had a trick up her sleeve! And so, with a small grin, the being tilted her maw down towards the earth, eyes glowing, before she gave a pointed flicker of her tail and brought her vision to life in the process.

Uh oh...

As you peer inside the pumpkin, one would be delighted to see it filled with colourful fruits, snacks, and candies of all shapes and sizes. They give off a tantalizing fruity smell -- perfect for deceiving those that would be bold enough to dig in and take a bite (or two). Because, well, in reality, this pumpkin was filled with rotten treats, that would be sure to turn your stomach sick and your face green within moments of eating them. Oops.

"Hoo-ee! That's a big-" whatever Guy is about to say cuts off and her head cocks to one side as the pumpkin gets... really weird. It kind of pops open and Guy hops up to peer into it with a curious noise. The lioness sniffs at the treats and reaches down to hook what looks like a sweet piece of meat onto a claw, raising the mess up to gesture at Yona.

"C'mon and say cheers with me!" Guy wants to get a little celebration in before she sinks her teeth into what they've found! It looks and smells fantastic, but Guy can be real patient, especially in a place like this.

Amaryllis is an odd place but Guy is pretty sure she can get used to it here! Especially if all the pumpkins are as generous as this one.

When the pumpkin split open, Yona padded forward excitedly, eager for more treasures and things that hopefully she would be able to take back to the hideout she had made with Lyla, but alas it was just... meat of some kind, it seemed. Which was probably also good if one got hungry, but she hadn't been hungry in quite a while now that she thought about it. Eh, it was probably fine.

She still gamely padded over, trying to sniff the meat and not getting anything from it. That didn't surprise her either, as she'd noticed she couldn't figure out where pride borders and things were anymore. Cheers? she repeated, not quite understanding why that was something one did but again gamely doing so anyway.

Guy grins at her companion, and then she swings open her jaws and tosses in the meat. It's sugary! Sweet! Huh! Guy takes three big bites and then she wrinkles up her nose, a horrid taste springing up against her mouth. The meat candy slips down her gullet and Guy immediately feels her stomach turn over; the bulky lioness groans and lowers her head.

Sour stomach? Sour stomach. Guy grunts and grits her teeth, nausea surging up in her belly, throat, mouth. Tingling tongue. Ugh.

"Don't eat that!"

... can a ghost even eat?

"Ah, jeez-"

Guy focused her gaze on the ruined flora. She scanned up and down tree branches, her tongue drawing against the roof of her mouth. There had to be... "H-hey, help me out here-- Ah need some Gnetum! It's this-- orange kinda plant. Ah gotta eat the leaves so Ah'n toss this up. Eugh-"

Her lips curl back from her teeth. Guy rummages through the plants, trying to find something living. She finds something, sure, but it isn't Gnetum-- it's some Akuamma, fallen and forgotten under some branches.
