We know that you guys love the spooky season — and so do we! So, obviously, we had to do a couple of things to celebrate. This year’s Halloween event has a few different elements (which may be familiar to some of you!) so keep reading to see how you can get involved and what we have in store!
Like every year, from now until the end of October (October 31 at 11:59pm EST), each member will have the ability to make one free ghost character.
- Limit of 1 ghost character per member.
- This character can have any design and is completely free to make, including breed-only items.
- If you make 75 posts with your Ghost character by the end of the month, they can automatically be upgraded to a Spectre.
New this year! New ghosts MUST make their first post within the Scorched Wilds! Once they have been posted within the Wilds they will be set free and able to post in other areas as mentioned below. This is only for NEW ghosts but all afterlife are welcome to help with the haunting!
Additionally, for the entire month of October, all characters of the afterlife (including Ghosts) have been released from their chains and can be found roaming freely around Amaryllis! This means that afterlife characters can create and respond to open threads anywhere in our IC forums.
While their threads can only be created within the month of October, there will be a 2-week grace period allowed for afterlife characters to finish their threads before they are dragged back beyond the veil on November 14 at 11:59pm EST.
ECHOES IN THE ASH The Haunting of the Scorched Wilds
As the veil between the living and the dead thins around this time of year, the air in the Wilds grows thick with more than just soot, and ghosts of the past awaken once again.
Odd things may be seen if you dare to enter the Scorched Wilds!
We have planned something fun and special but need your help to get things going. The more we see characters within the Scorched Wilds, taking notice that things are different, talking to Maua, or even ... Kivuli the faster this will kick off!
You didn’t think we would NOT have a scavenger hunt, did you? This year, @Ice ★ will be hiding a total of 30 icons around the site for everyone to find, with a few fun prizes up for grabs if you choose to participate!
The scavenger hunt will run from October 12th until 11:59PM (EST) on October 31st, and all entries must be submitted via PM to @Nafasi by the deadline in order to count. We will make an announcement on the 8th once everything is set up and ready to go!
Rules:
- Submit one entry (one PM to @Nafasi) per member.
- For each icon that you discover, please indicate which icon you found (hat/candy/pumpkin) and where it was hidden. Failure to provide all of this information will result in that submission not being counted.
- Do NOT share the location of any discovered icons with other members. If you are found to be sharing lists, you will be disqualified.
- Do NOT attempt to cheat. Anyone found trying to cheat the game, in any way, will be disqualified.
- Late entries will not count.
- Icons will not be hidden in any dead threads, IC archives, or inactive accounts.
WORTH 30 PETALS EACH (EXTRA HARD) — 2 HIDDEN TOTAL
BONUS: If you find all 30 icons, you will be able to claim 50 trade exp for a character of your choice!
The final results will be posted after the scavenger hunt has closed. Once the results are posted, you can claim your prizes! Happy hunting!
For the other portion of our IC event, characters will be able to play a game of trick-or-treat with our resident troublemaker, @Nafasi! With her feeling extra mischievous this year, she is roaming the lands of Amaryllis and is set on handing out some laughs along the way.
This game will run from October 14th to October 31st, and any threads created before then will not count towards this part of the event. On October 14th, I will post a reply to this thread with the request form and the pumpkins to signify the start of the event!
How It Will Work:
- 1. Start a thread with another member or members.
- 2. Once you have 5 replies back and forth between the characters (total), make a post discovering some of the pumpkins that Nafasi has scattered around Amaryllis!
- 3. Then, using the form, you will post a reply to this thread where you will pick your pumpkin. Your pumpkin will either contain a trick or a treat!
- All tricks and treats are pre-set by Staff.
- Only post one request per thread. Everyone in the same thread will receive the same trick/treat.
- Once a number is picked, it's contents will be replaced by something else. This means that if multiple people pick pumpkin #12, they will not necessarily receive the same prize.
- Pumpkin numbers run left to right, per row, and go from 1 to 15.
- 4. Once your results have been revealed, Staff will then respond to your thread appropriately, using @Nafasi.
- 5. Once you have responded to Nafasi and have exited your thread, if you were lucky enough to get one, you can claim your prize!
Each member can receive a maximum of 2 prizes from this event. You can only earn one prize per thread. If you end up getting tricked, you can continue making threads and requests until you get your treats.
*Prizes are not tradeable between members and are non-refundable once cashed in.
