She had been planning on leaving after her last words, and then when he came rushing towards her, with a swipe aimed at her face, the red and white lioness would move her head backwards. Twisting and turning so that his claws merely caught the edge of her cheek. "Bastard! I was going to leave before you rushed me like that!" She spat, aiming to move herself backwards even further.

With that, the larger lioness would attempt to whirl herself around and make a race for lands far away. This encounter had solidified her hatred of prides ruled by someone other than a trusted friend. It was highly likely she'd keep herself far away from prides after this. Especially if any of their rulers were like this man-child.

Rose sighed deeply as, despite her best efforts, things did in fact escalate as the strange woman began to spout lies and threats- pushing the high sovereign to swipe at her. Her ears flattened against her skull as she stepped backwards quickly before she accidentally placed herself in the line of fire. The angry woman spreads lies, he’s done nothing but defend his home! she hissed from where she stood. She’d given the woman an out- she’d done her best to defuse the situation, but you couldn’t help someone who wouldn’t help themself. She stood back as the woman made to flee, waiting to see what the king would do - part of her tensing and ready to make herself scares in case a sour mood were to be directed at her. It seemed his borders had been graced with a coward, willing to run her mouth if only it spared her the consequences of it. Do not return. It would be the only warning she received. A kindness, for he had decided she was not worth the energy it would take to chase her. Beside, his claws had nicked her cheek—a reminder.

He turned to Rose, finding her defense of him and his actions to be... oddly endearing. Of course, he cared little about what stories would be told of this day. He would not deny it. He would not acknowledge it. There were more important matters a king need concern himself with.

He turned, choosing to offer his lead storyteller counsel, of sorts, while he waited to ensure the interloper left. Concern yourself not with this, he commanded, for he could not quite manage anything else. You will meet many idiots in your life. They are not worth the breath you waste.

A pause.

If she is foolish enough to return, you have my blessing to rip her apart.

It doesn't end as bad as it could have.

But Rhys is left with a sour taste in his mouth, and a cruel reminder that he can do so little to control anything beyond himself. How easy it would have been for Orlaith to accidentally let his name slip from her tongue; worse yet, the actions of this Drauhir might make her more weary of him by default.

More valuable than anything, however, and the only thing that stays his angry and shaking hand, is the knowledge that the man had indeed wrenched the crown from the fingers of a madwoman.

One who might feel inclined to return and reclaim what she believes hers.

A pity, then, that Rhys Tollaire does not care what happens to his half-brother or his pride or his people.

Eventually, when two clashing sides no longer threaten one another's orbit, Rhys decides it is safer to leave than it is to stay. He rises from his position in the grasses, and remaining just below the tops of the dunes, he begins to make his way back to the desert.

She had slipped away, with merely scratches on her cheek to show for it. Had she known this Drauhir was related to Rhys, she might've been a bit more cautious, a bit more reserved. An angry look was given behind her at both those who hung behind borders.

She hadn't even crossed borders and had been attacked. Perhaps this new king was just as mad as the previous ruler. Maybe this land was cursed to drive the ruler slowly mad.

With a huff, Órlaith would disappear into the distance, making sure she wasn't followed. No need to have them track her down after this. It was the last thing she needed.

As the woman scampered off Rose let out a breath she’d apparently been holding with a deep sigh and a shake of her head. What had been the purpose of this little encounter? The lioness has come to a strangers border to seek a meeting, and was offended when the highest of authority it had to offer showed to in fact meet her? Perhaps she’d eaten a bad rat and it had soured her mood? Or maybe she the red and white woman had just been a sour sort of lioness in general? She shook her head at how pointless this all that been.

As the king spoke her eyes widened just the slightest bit when he instructed her to “rip her apart” if she were to return. She swallowed the instant lump that formed in her throat and simply offered him an awkward smile and a nod. Yes, well this has been, interesting. Have a good day King Drauhir, good bye! she offered him a farewell as she made to return deeper into the pride lands.
