Amaryllis' discovered prides
Melted skies

He hadn’t really been expecting to come to the jungle but here he was. Walking upon a riverbank in the middle of a jungle. Somewhere near the Rainforest pride but not caring if he was toying with their boundaries. Or anyone else’s for that matter. He could be in someone’s chosen home but he’ll go wherever he pleases. Humming softly in a gruff manner he prowled the under brush hunting a small Dik-Dik and taking it down without care. If someone else had been hunting it well too bad for them should have been faster. He needed something as he enjoyed the rain that lightly fell from the sky as he started to eat.

The scent of blood had initially tempted the shadowed creature from his hiding place, a nook of tangled branches and vines that had become somewhat of a den for the male. It wasn't much, but it was a dry place to get his head down and he had at least managed to keep it for himself these past weeks. His second birthday had passed without fanfare, but there had been a change in him. Perhaps it was hormones, but as he stepped into adulthood he felt bolstered - more confident in his abilities and certainly more bolshy when it came to the whims of others. He did not need to hide anymore, he was no longer a cub in need of running away for survival. He could test boundaries, challenge others with more confidence than before.
Which was why, when his blackened gaze fell upon another male tiger who had a meal, he did not instinctively turn away. Instead, he felt the tension radiating from his body, shoulders lifting and a challenge instead rising to the surface. Fen felt confident he could take the white bastard, so he charged. Practising a burst of speed to get him out of the bush he'd been observing in, Fen barrelled forward at a rate, thick black tail thrown out behind him for balance. His aim was to thunder straight into the white tiger, wishing to bowl him over and steal his meal. The best laid plans and everything - whether or not it would work was a different matter.

With claws and teeth in the meal he wouldn’t get it snatched and grabbed like a little old lady’s purse. He had a firm grip on it and even though the other tiger had successfully ran into him knocking him down he shifted to stand up as quick as he could to stay over the meal. Snarling he attempted to grab the other by his front leg. At the same time he attempted to dig his hind claws into the dikdik to keep the stranger from yoinking it in the struggle. The nerve of this kid. He had hunted the food so the brat should hunt his own food too. Instead of just putting the energy into fighting someone else over their food. Work smarter not harder idiot

The collision of bodies was enough to send his pale counterpart sprawling backwards and it was enough to boost Fen's ego, to feel powerful and strong and almost unstoppable. It did not last long, but in those few heartbeats, the young male received exactly what his hormones had been demanding - validation. He was a big, strong, capable adult now and he could take what he wanted. Including this half eaten dikdik. There was something to be said for the misplaced energy - he could certainly have tracked dinner down on his own but it wasn't nearly as satisfying as trying to steal someone else's meal. It didn't matter that this tiger had never done anything to him - he would pay for the sins of his entire species if Fen had any say in the matter.
His opponent did not stay down for long, though the shadowed male had not expected him to. Up and crouched over the prize at hand, a protective stance but one that would be his downfall if he continued to try and defend as well as attack at the same time. As Wilson aimed to grab at Fen's front leg, the melanistic tiger twisted out of the way, using his right paw in an attempt to swipe diagonally across his opponent's face. He had no intention of giving up on his campaign so soon, so his attack persisted.

Greedy little sht this shadowed cloaked brat was. Snarling Wilson really should have either decided between defending and running with his kill or full out attacking the jerk who was trying to make his life harder and steal away his food. The nerve. He was no chump. Though getting claws across his face made him very angry. His face hurt and his cheek was now bleeding turning his white fur pink. Shifting he attempted to return the favor and tried to slap the other tiger across the face with his claws. Just a bit after aiming to bring that paw to the ground he attempted to lift his other paw and attempted to rake his claws downwards trying to swipe at the younger man’s shoulder.

His blow landed, a slash of claws across alabaster cheeks and the immediate swell of blood that seeped across his opponents fur was yet another boost. Fen had been in plenty of fights, several of which he had instigated himself. Plenty more that had been thrust upon him and he'd had no choice but to defend himself. But this felt different - empowering in a way that was heady. He wanted to win, wanted to claim the small prize and the victory and the glory and all that it entailed. Even if it was just in his head. Even if no-one would ever know about it. For the briefest moment, he wondered what Béla would think.
And then claws were coming for his face and the sting of gashes was sobering. Fen hissed, automatically withdrawing his face from the pointy ends of his opponent. Perhaps not so invincible then. And as a second blow landed down his shoulder, the tiger's ears pinned in displeasure, eyes narrowing. "Give it up, you old fuck." He demanded, though left nothing to chance as he launched himself forward once more, jaws snapping directly in the white male's face in hopes of catching his sliced cheek once more.

This dikdik really wasn’t that special. The meal wasn’t worth the hassle and the pain of this fight. Does that mean he was going to give up? Oh hell no. "Shut up you arrogant bastard." He hissed back at him. He wasn’t even old how dare this cub. Feeling his claws land he was expecting retaliation and tucked his chin over his throat. Pinned his eyes and narrowed his eyes while stepping backwards. Alas he wasn’t fast enough as he felt the pain of fangs raking cross his already bleeding cheek. Grunting he tried to ignore the pain. Surely this fight was almost over and he could deal with it afterwards. Shifting his form he attempted to get the other tiger away from him by attempting to ram the top of his head into his bottom jaw.

Arrogant - that was an accurate description for the black tiger, who took it as a compliment that his opponent had recognised one of his greatest attributes. Fen was too busy chomping on the man's face to acknowledge it however. It had not been his intention to bite and hold, his teeth snipping but nothing more and he was grateful for it as the great white head shunted forward. It bashed his lower jaw and automatically Fen ducked his head to the side and down, coincidentally bringing him closer to the carcass they fought over. It was right there and with a victorious hiss, Fen snatched the meal from beneath the other male.
"Mine now." He asserted through a mouthful of antelope, though he wasn't stupid enough to stay where he was and backed up a step or two, dragging the creature with him. He felt the sense of victory rolling through him and he narrowed inky black eyes upon his counterpart - firstly daring him to try again and secondly silently demanding that the white tiger concede ground first. He had lost, afterall.

Eyes narrowed as @Fen stole his food and was smug about it. "Hope you choke on it you little prick." He snarled. He was tired. Having gone through the trouble of hunting then having to fight. Lazy ass cub he’ll remember this and kick his ass next time. Panting he showed his fangs before backing off even more. Next time they meet he’ll be sure to leave his mark on the kids pretty hide. Maybe he’ll take a toe with him or maybe not. "Enjoy your victory while you can. Next time you won’t be as lucky." He hissed as he backed up to leave. Getting a good distance away before turning away from him and running off.
