The events of the war were burned into his mind like a brand of just how terrible, how bloody the world could be. How dangerous. So he'd stayed close to home, remained within the borders like the good son, the dutiful princeling. Keeping an eye on his sisters to ensure that there would hopefully not be a repeat of what he had witnessed at the beach.

He'd been chewing on a branch when his mother's voice echoed through the trees. The princeling's fur puffed, and his fluffy tail twitched with worry. He should go back to the den; Mom didn't sound happy. But childish curiosity is difficult to temper and his paws do, in fact, not carry him to the den. But towards the chaos, the fighting, and the horrors of adulthood.

His small frame is pressed to the ground approaching as silently as oversized paws will let him. Pale eyes drift over the lions before him, all are from the brook yet they are fighting, why? The lead advisor's words catch his ears and they fall flat lips pealing back as anger floods into his belly. Ashland might be young, he might not fully understand what @Ixora being a traitor meant, but he did know she'd done something bad. But others were already trying to punish her for her wrongdoing so his eyes moved on falling on the pale frame of his sister.

No, no no no nononono.

@Moontide would get caught in the middle of it! Just like Sarai had on the beach. But right now no one had noticed her, right now she was safe with their older sister. But for how long and why wasn't @Nazara taking her away or making her go back to the den? The princeling watches silently for a moment eyes darting between the adults and his sisters. His small mind tried to comprehend why they had not been sent away. They were right there for all of them to see, for mother to see. So why? Why hadn't she ordered them to safety?

The princeling moves, he would not see another sister trapped. He would not watch as Moontide was put in danger. She would leave right now with him! The princeling runs towards her with full force and jaws wide open. "Go!" he snarls before he attempts to ram himself against her, to push her in the direction of the Brook territory, of the den, of safety.

The sense of duty was what was driving the lioness into this,only wanting to show her family she didn't need to be fully blooded to be just as ruthless and efficient as the rest. Her claws sank on their intended target, as Cassius came to help her though she didn't feel like help was needed but she would not complain as the important matter was to get this traitor back to pay for her crimes. Yet She kicked backward, hitting her chest,she is forced back down for a few instants but is quickly back into it, running after her as she attempted to slip her left front paw into the runner's right back leg, aiming to make her fall as if she was a prey. Then one more male joins the fight, she frowns thinking they didn't need so many to take down a single escapee. Dio ducks around the white body of the High Queen and dips deeply to one side. Go. Something in her head whispers. Be it her own voice, her own will to survive, or one of the many ghostly presences that seemed to inhabit her she could not tell. Whoever it was, the advice seemed sound and Dio booked it straight ahead towards the edge of Vermeda and off into the darker reaches of the forest.

Please- Dio prays- Maua please give Ixora wings to follow. Help them.

She could not stop, could not sacrifice this chance for the other young cleric. In another world she may have thought twice but all it took was a twist in her gut to propel her deeper into the woods.

Pain prickles within the expanses of the raven witches side, shoulders rolling beneath the weight of dragging daggers as crimson dribbles in rafted waves as the abyssal creature careens unto their side before shedding from their coat. Winded. Breath is stolen from heaving lungs with a gasp as they are taken aback by the sheer force from his initial collision coupled with that of the feeling of @Obsidiana's claws slicing through the layers of fat and skin. Heels colliding with the brunt of the woman's chest - acting as enough of a deterrent to allow the mahogany creature to stumble away just a few feet before a third, more familiar interceptor falls within their path. A snarl peels back the gummy pinks of their maw, exposing branded teeth and clicking tongues as the swipe of @Horith's unseated claws graze upon the brunt of their upturned cheek. "Right?" A hiss coils through a snakes tongue, spittle flaking out from ashen lips towards the beast. "The only right you have is for your bones to shrivel and rot within your flesh for the vultures to pick clean!" A swipe from the creature of mottled desires leaves Ixora stumbling, shoulders swaying uneasily as hind quarters struggle to catch up with the pacing of their frontal cortex - as Ixora would "attempt" to fake a weakened jaunt to Horith's left before jaunting to his right.

Confusion slams through her as her brother barrels towards her with a shout. Indignant, she stamps her foot and flattens her ears, mouth opening to tell him to go to he- then she realizes he's not stopping. His open jaws aim right for her as he slams into her head-on. His teeth glance off of her face as he rams into her chest-to-chest, the skin unzipping along her right side. A shriek of rage escapes her even as the impact of the smaller boy will, undoubtedly, leave a bruise. Why! Moontide snarls back, stumbling a step and falling onto her haunches in a seated position. Unwilling to roll over and take it, the girl swings her head to her right and tries to bury her fangs into the flesh of the side of his neck.

GODS DON'T PRAY

Both prisoners escape and Icefang clenches her jaw in frustration. Growling she turns to the rest, annoyed that they failed to keep the shackles bound firmly to the two escapees. On @Nazara, the queen focuses the most wondering for a moment if her daughter had anything to do with aiding their escape. She was here with @Moontide before the queen herself had intercepted, but the matriarch does not wish to believe that the princess would perform ill acts against her family. Their family and instead she takes her glowering stare off her and throws it to the rest of them equally. Time to be fair. They were all at fault here. However, there is one light in shining in the shadows as she dips her skull at @Horith. He had revealed a traitor in their midst and for that she is thankful.

"Hunt them down, maul them, or kill them. I do not care, but if @Ixora is seen anywhere near the Brook they are to be dealt with immediately. " Her focus is on the treacherous being though they can be easily mistaken to also apply to @Diomedeidae. With one last glare, the queen turns away from her pride members and stalks off towards the borders to further enforce her scent markers.

As @Horith joins in (speaking on treachery), Cassius steps back; deciding that he would quite like to witness this traitor be torn apart. As @Obsidiana and the other male lay into @Ixora's hide, somehow within the mix of the fray she manages to elude them both.

His eyes track her as she darts away after the other female that had been their prisoner. Then his attention is moving toward @Icefang ♔. And as she visually displays disapproval to the three, he is quick to throw it right back at her. They were not the only failures here.

Idly his tongue sets to gliding over his whiskers, gaze lingering on @Nazara with a hunger driven by suspicion yet without proof he moves toward his children. They were too close to the border to be left alone but he had no intentions of interrupting their squabble.

Let them fight it out.
