She considered offering the woman mercy. She didn't know her, and it had been but a comment that she had made, admittedly towards someone she considered a close friend. Heloise wasn't, as a general rule, the violent sort, and the woman obviously had something going on with her. But attempts to reason hadn't worked, and as she felt the woman's claws around her eye, blood partially obscuring her vision, thoughts of mercy vanished.

She'd thought to blind the woman just as she'd commented upon Matthieu's features, but given that she had the woman's ear in her claws at that moment the choice seemed logical. Her claws dug in, rending cartilage from flesh until her paw came free, tearing loose a fluffy pink ear.

Put baby bush and gambier on it, she said before turning away, just in case the woman didn't have a medic on paw. A last offer of kindness, accepted or not, before leaving the woman to her fate.

Heloise turned, then, taking in a scene of blood and death. She didn't know the man, nor the woman who had killed him, but she could feel him passing. Maua, she murmured, clutching at the fading spirit, attempting to halt his passage, please-. But there she stopped, because she could feel the resistance to her hold and her attempt at pulling him back to this world. So instead she smiled softly as she let go, ushering him on into the afterlife. Maua watch over him. Welcome him into your embrace. Help his family be at peace. Let dem see him again.

The last time she'd made such a request had been for... Oh, poor beloved Cordi. How she was missed. How he too would be, she knew. Just as one day she too would be.

Tiredly, she scanned the rest of the gathering, then decided she didn't have the strength to remain any longer. The mental and emotional weight of the war pressed firmly upon her, and it was with a heavy heart that she turned and vanished into the depths of the pride.

She hated that smile. Always curled in a smirk – always laughing at a joke that had not been made, and if it had, it was at Anniston's expense. She snorted as her own claws ripped it right off of Olive's expression, replaced with neat ribbons of scarlet and eyes that shone with near-hurt.

Those same pillowy paw-pads that had once led her down countless trails came thrusting toward her face and Anniston yelped as she was shoved unceremoniously from on top of the little queen.

"You're supposed to not fuck your friends' dads," she sneered in a mocking echo. Perhaps that title alone proved the pacification of time. They were friends – it was all it had ever been, and it was more than they could hope to achieve again. No longer did she equate Olive's name with the heavens and the earth. She was not exalted. She was no better than Anniston; if anything, she thought Olive far worse.

Sand spit up behind each bounding step as she attempted to launch herself at the small lioness this time, one shoulder jutted in an attempt to batter it right into the center of her chest. No, there was nothing to smile about – not for the two of them, not anymore.

The giant's skull collides with his own and it sends stars dancing over his vision for a moment until a sharp pain burns from his lips where her teeth dig in. She had not gotten his tongue but his inky lips were stained crimson from his own blood gushing from where she'd torn the upper lip.

Unfortunately, he can not savor his fight with the giant as tiny fangs and claws dig into his skin as the leach climbs his frame. The little girl was however ignored, for now at least, in favor of the woman. He'd remember her though, in a moment when the leach was all alone attached to him. Oh, how he'd savor her screams when he tore her small frame into ribbons. Hopefully, she'd learn not to interfere when adults were having fun.

The giant pushed against his frame his lifted limb quickly returning to the ground blood splattered white toes getting covered in sand. He snarls as he pushes forward, front limbs coming off the ground to attempt a painful hug. Claws aiming to dig into the giant's skin. Even if he fell, hopefully, he'd leave her with deep red gashes over her shoulders and chest.

The Servant

His frame hit the ground his shoulders and face bleeding from her onslaught. Her claws dig deep and he snarls echoing the sound vibrating off the top of his skull. A skull that feels worryingly wet, her slobbering has mixed with his blood making his mane wet and the servant worries about just how much damage the woman was doing.

He could not allow her to remain attached but he also had to get back to the medic. Falling was not ideal but it was the path they were on. At least the woman seems to intend to stick to his back and Felix growls attempting to twist as he goes down hoping to land on top of the lioness to trap her underneath him, to crush her under him. He does not have much space or opportunity to get at her otherwise but still attempt to bite over his shoulder blindly aiming at her. Rather his teeth found skin or air wasn't certain.

their reunion devolved in ways olive could not have foreseen: more bitter than sweet.

or, perhaps, olive had been too short-sighted to expect anything more from the girl who’d cursed her name at every turn. the girl who’d loosed insults like poison-tipped bolts whose arrowheads decorated every inch of her tired shield, even now, and years long past. the girl who’d once danced in the footprints olive bade her to follow — eagerly, proudly, and without question. the girl whose absence olive had felt like a cavernous void within her chest, and whose return she had yearned for in moments too quiet. even more so in moments too loud, and more still in the moments in-between.

— the girl who need not embellish animosity where it already dwelled: nurtured by transgressions olive wrongfully believed she’d since attoned for. transgressions she’d long since buried in a conscience that fought to see her own guilt absolved, and always. even undeservedly, and even when the guilt threatened to upend their shallow graves and wreak havoc upon her.

the soles of her forepaws successfully connect with the padded plum of anni’s face, and as the frei slips from atop her throne of olive, so does the sprite use her opponent’s retreat to regain footing. for the briefest of moments, olive were convinced that @Anniston finally understood the method to her madness; however, just as quickly, she reels as another arrow bypasses her crowded shield and strikes true-to-mark. you're supposed to not fuck your friends' dads — and, for once, olive parries against her former ward as the poison threatens to consume.

“you wanna fuck my dad, is that it?” no longer were her words a whisper, no longer were her adversity feigned. as she beholds the familiar countenance of her beloved once-shadow, the brilliant carmine of her stare were emblazoned with fury, pain, fear — and every compelling, destructive emotion in-between. olive’s breathing were labored at the fault of her growing indignation; and even as anniston made the intent to charge conspicuous, she remained rooted to the spot with a rare sort of tenacity. “maybe he’s cooped up gods know where with your dad. my friend! wouldn’t that be convenient?” and olive’s hind limbs bow in an attempt to brace herself for impact as anni encloses upon her with a lowered, jousting shoulder.

the collision were heavy enough to extract a pained sigh from gritted teeth and unwillingly drag her backwards against cursed sand that spilled out across her ankles. like an obedient hound, olive’s rump reflexively lowered to prevent toppling over at the whim of her larger opponent. despite the turbulence of her emotions, the sprite retained a modicum of control — enough to curb her hopeful retaliation to a mere shove. and though the attempted, forceful push of right forepaw to anni’s left shoulder were mild at best, it were her tongue that’d seek to do the heavy lashing in the stead of vengeful tooth and claw. “my best friend, you know? my best friend before you, before lorien, before fallon. before anything!” the words were unbridled, and spewed without care for the damage she may yet further inflict.

but what did it matter? violarum weren’t coming back, and neither were anni.

Trying to crush her with his body weight didn’t go quite as he had hoped but still he had managed something which was better than nothing. Though he was tiring of this. The prize he had been seeking with this game was no longer something he was focused on. For all he knew she could have slipped away while he was fighting this one. Though he did have to say the one he found himself fighting was a pretty thing and would make a fine choice for a toy.

Yet he had to focus as he had let his mind wander for a moment and paid with the feeling of claws raking across his nose and down his muzzle. Snarling he felt blood dripping from his face as he attempted to leap forward towards them. Claws out as he tried to give her a hug while trying to dig his claws into or rake them across his opponent’s shoulders.

“You wanna fuck my dad, is that it?”

No! She felt the word stampede across her skin where it would not loose itself from her throat, a shriek of anger taking its place against her orders. Anniston never had been eloquent of speech. That evening shore washed red not with blood, but with hatred. She could hardly hear Olive's rambling about fathers, even the image of her own enough to conjure a dry-heave each time he cared to make an appearance on her mental stage.

Dirty. It was dirty. She was dirty. Those she had once held more dear than perhaps even her own life, selfish thing that she was, were permanently painted in a coat of disgust that Anniston knew would never run clear.

They had ruined it all.

Anniston grunted as she felt the full force of her body colliding against Olive's, and though the woman were smaller, her stubborn stance ensured the move would hurt Anniston all the same. Still, she was numb to the shove of a paw against her shoulder when hot venom poured through her ears.

“My best friend, you know? My best friend before you, before Lorien, before Fallon. Before anything!”

She whipped her head to her left, attempting to clench jaws shut around a mouthful of umber cheek with enough force that her own gums wept with sour blood.

"I'm so happy for you, Olive," each syllable dripped intentionally from berry-hued lips, poisonous intent made clear even before the words struck. "You got the guy, you got your best friend, and you got the crown." Anniston shifted to meet her gaze, intent to watch exactly how each mark hit her target. "Oh, wait? He's gone, so... you didn't get any of it." Cue pouted lip juxtaposed against heaving breaths.

"You're just as alone as you deserve."

The sounds around her were threatening to overwhelm the Sigrún girl. It was only the proximity of the waves and her focus on that nearby sound that soothed her enough to keep her wits about her at all. Dresden had truly thought that first visit her had been bloody.

This was... something else. Above the din of the battle and the sharp sting of her first true battle wounds, Dresden could not catch all that was said either, but she caught enough to respond with a snarling snap toward Clove's now marked face as she spoke, "@Béla, I can't! She's — wait, what?" Her words broke off and fangs recoiled from her now-abandoned attack as Clove spoke to the golden boy at the same moment.

Confusion replaced her rage just as Clove's claws sank into the flesh of her shoulders in a violent embrace. Frustrated, Dresden would merely attempt to drop her weight suddenly to one side, attempting to roll the Rike girl off.

Brows furrowed in confusion as her attacker addressed the boy at that same moment. Her eyes flashed dangerously as a feeling like betrayal crept through her belly, all bitter and gnarled and unnameable. It was only allowed to live there for a moment, crowded with the sensations of her claws ripping flesh and with that massive weight retreating from her.

Heart pounding, adrenaline racing, Clove saw a moment of opportunity. Even as her opponent moved to free herself from that fight, the girl reached out a hand for Dresden's ankle in an attempt to trip her upon the sands.

Who wouldn't want a whiff of that? A scream of rage grew rapidly in her chest as she attempted to meet the bastard halfway. She tucked her chin and bowed her head, hoping to slam her skull straight into that smart-ass mouth of his. "Let's see the jokes you can make with a busted lip!"
