Her feral grin is barely contained as she charges into the chaos, the roar of battle echoing in her ears like a lover’s call. The beast within her howls in unison with the cries of those caught in battle. Her eyes, wild and gleaming, lock onto— @Colsun — her new target.

The pale one had spoken—witches were to die— and she would deliver.

Each step is heavy with purpose, every movement calculated yet driven by primal instinct. Her powerful muscles ripple beneath her pelt as she moves with the grace and ferocity of a born predator. The chaos around her is a mere backdrop to her singular focus. She is a force of nature, an unstoppable juggernaut fueled by the promise of bloodshed.

Her thoughts, though consumed by the need to kill, are clear on one point— this one… this one is not meant for death. The scent of blood fills her nostrils, igniting the fire that burns deep within her chest. She hungers, not just for food, but for the hunt, for the kill that will sate the monster she is. The beast within her roars in frustration, but she reins it in, the threat of punishment like a leash.

With a guttural roar, Ragnhild slams her paw into the earth. Her challenge is clear, her voice a thunderous command that cuts through the din of war.

Somewhere feel on her chest it felt like her heart was turning into stone and stinking into the pit of her stomach. The wrongness of everything around her was a weight, pressing her deeper and deeper into the sand. It caused her feet to feel heavy and sluggish as she took a slow, terrified step backwards.

Before her, next to his medic wife, @Milano seemed to stir at her words condemning @Khadija and her question of helping @Miaran bring violence against an elderly woman and the equally elderly man who came to her aid. For a moment hope swelled and stone promised to crumble away to expose beating heart once more. Surely her friend would see reason? Surely Milano of all lions would speak sense and justice and stand for what was right?

A growl left him. With a single sound the world went silent for Rose. With a single motion her heart shattered and what little home she had left she felt slipping away from her. He plunged himself into battle at the side of the mad tyrant queen and she suddenly the lion she thought she knew was gone. Replaced with a callous madman she would could not trust. They were all mad she decided as she looked between where Miaran and Milano battles, back to Khadija. Suddenly next to her the sabered @Felix appeared. Could she trust him? She took a frantic step away from her would-be protector. Terror was clouding all judgement now - she had no reason to lump the sabertooth in with the others and yet lump she did as she stared with wide fearful eyes.

Breath, just breath… the scent of blood on a strange beach filled her nostrils.

She continued slowly stepping backwards, You are all monsters! All of Caladan Cove! she declared, voice cracking as she fought to raise it above a whisper. She didn’t know if they could hear, she didn’t care. She had to get away. She had to get out. She had to get to safety - she’d wandered into the spiders web all those moons ago it would seem. Now she was little more than the fly waiting to be consumed as the poison that was fear kept her locked in place.

Her eyes flickered back to the fighting. For a moment it felt as if her heart might stop as she spied Aphrodite joining in the fight. Queen Aphrodite was going to beat up elders too?

Just as she felt the edges of the universe begin to darken around her there was a sudden ray of light- hope that not everyone was mad as it became clear the ink clad queen did not fight with the woman she once called wife, but rather against her. From the shadows she’d risen to stand for what was right. A deep breath came to her now, filling her lungs with much needed oxygen despite the iron tang in the air.

Just as things seemed to be working themselves out a raging scream filled the air, declaring her savior queens name with intention to enslave and imprison. Fear now mixed with rage. She wanted to help, wanted to tell the brook lion who had been at the meeting where Skjol had spoken up (the man had warned them! He’d been right all along!) that he was a madman too, wicked and villainous and filled with evil things. Her mind raged to help protect her queen with the first flicker of bravery since they’d arrived. That was all it was though, a flicker of flame fighting the hurricane of terror around her. She watched with only slight relief as another plans lioness rushed to her aid. Relief that soon turned to terror as another lioness jumped in to help as well. There’s a cub fighting in there! horror laces her astonished screams. Gods she wanted to help! Tears welled in her eyes, anger at her own inability to act.

Finally, rather abruptly and suddenly, she felt her paws begin to move as she attempted to dart away from all the lions she’d come to know these past few months. Paws carried her farther from familiar faces.

And in her panic she began running straight into the heart of the fray.

The dumb child had gone exploring to find his big brother and the pretty ladybug that also lived in the cove. What he found was their scent moving away from their home and to the lagoon. Following it he giggled as he jumped at a sand spider. Following after it as he made his way towards the party he was blissfully unaware of the danger. Hearing fighting he stopped and just blinked before running towards the edge of the fighting. "Oh big brotherrrrr! Pretty lady!" He called out looking towards where Milano was fighting. "Brother! Why you biting that guy? Why is everyone nom noming on each other’s faces?" He questioned curiously looking towards @Rose.

Panic had sent her running towards the chaos to get away from the lions of Caladan Cove, but a small voice yelling into the mob caused her to stop in her tracks. Suddenly Rose’s blood seemed to turn cold, her breath catching in her throat as her yellow eyes turned sharply onto @Ekon. Oh gods, didn’t this child have a mother watching him? She needed to meet her eventually, because she clearly didn’t know what sort of trouble her child managed to wander into on a daily basis. He was certainly going to unalive himself before adulthood at this rate.

Mustering what strength and courage she could she altered her direction and began charging straight for the joy. RUN! she said harshly, leaving no room for argument. If that wasn’t enough she would attempt to run straight to the boy and try to grasp her jaws around his scruff in an attempt to drag the cub- who was much too large for her to be dragging but she’d be damned if she didn’t try- away from danger.

Wide eyes spied the chaos with wonder instead of fear. Yes. Yes where was this stinky joy’s mother? Probably trying to rangle all the other cubs in her care. Or out hunting it was a toss up to be honest. Sitting on his rump he watched his brother before he heard @Rose yell to run. "But why pretty ladybug?" He pouted as he wanted to stay and watch big brother and ask all his stupid questions. Getting his scruff pulled he became stubborn and planted in his heels. Wiggling his butt more in the sand. Though it wasn’t like he wasn’t moving Rose was managing to get him to move in h by inch.

Gods the child chose now to start being stubborn and stop taking every word she said as instant truth. She grunted as she tried to drag him, but he was half grown and a colossal size for a cub. As he pouted a d asked why she dropped his scruff. Please little lion, please please just run! she begged him, moving on from trying to drag him away nudging at him with her nose and trying to push him through the sand and away from danger. These lions are crazy, they will steal you and force you away from your family. she explained - though forcing him away from the madman they was his “big brother” wasn’t the worst case she could think of at the moment. We have to get away from them! Please, help me get away! she begged, if she couldn’t drag him away maybe she could convince the cub that he was saving her.

"I can't protect you in the Brook, come with me to Illyria." Orei practically pleads it to @Aneistri. Willing his sister to allow him to do what he needed to do next, and not to stop him. The war would pit them against each other, and he would be damned if anyone hurt her regardless of what side they were on. He didn't truly understand why she had gone back to the Brook in the first place. Their birthplace haunted him in a way he would never return. Perhaps Ani was clinging to the little bit of familiarity she had left after they had all left her. He couldn't blame her, not truly, but he was back now and she was not alone.

The scent on her pelt was new, they would not miss her. But he would. Stepping back from her Orei lets out his own roar to challenge for his sister, for the Brook to answer. To bring her home, to the family he had begun to build in Illyria. She deserved to be a part of that, and he would stop at nothing to bring her home. Even if he failed here today and had to ask the favor of Fearne. He wouldn't stop fighting for her.

Someone charges to face him and Velasco is for once pleased with his opponent, despite the retched stench of women and plains lingering on her coat. She had not spat useless words at him or laid open a bleeding heart too weak to stomach the world of lions. No, she'd faced him with fury and power.

Perhaps a worthy woman among weak lionesses.

The giant's claws tear into his dark hide and the Monster snarls though the sounds almost happy. Happy to finally fight someone who isn't going to try and cry his ears deaf first. Her size and weight force him to move with her weight shoving him sideways, but he will not fall! His legs strain in an attempt to keep him upright and facing the giant his lips peeled back in a toothy snarl. He sidesteps following her momentum as his jaws part ready to bite.

However, before his jaws can be aimed a new sharp pain alerts him to the child's attack. The leach was annoying and unwelcome. Velasco would attempt to spin his body towards Idunn's right side with the intent of crushing Zinnia between them. At the same time, his jaws are aimed at Idunn's face attempting to bite into the side of her face facing him.

@Valentine's quip makes him feign surprise and interest in the duo below them. Love? Oh! A wedding, how interesting! You mustn’t blame him for not noticing such subtleties, he was not used to attending parties of that kind. “A wedding!” He dramatically planted a paw on his forehead in a face-palm. ”Don’t they remind you of us?” “Certainly! Not as dashing and charming as us, though.” He beamed from ear to ear. Wasn’t it such a romantic story, though? A nighttime secret wedding between the prisoner and the… cripple? What was up with that guy, anyway? Luther chuckled when the Vermedan male (@Velasco) inquired after a gift. “Only our noble presence. I thought that would be enough.” And a fistful to the face, soon enough. That’s the least they deserve.

@Miaran arrived and Luther was most pleased. @Icefang ♔, who’d accompanied him into the Lagoon, was also present. He sneered self-satisfied with the quick turnaround of his support. Already others were filtering in, and he turned to command his members: “Do not allow the prisoners to escape. Steal the enemy's valuable ranks.” He snarled.

”Trespassers face maiming.” His eyes narrow on the blue figure that comes from behind their troops. Here was an ex-prisoner of his. ”Looking for a way to spice up your boring life? ” “Why, I have much better things to do. I am a busy man, you see,” he casually waved a paw. “But when my esteemed guest Zahra decides to go to a party I can’t simply let her go alone now, can I?” You have only her to blame. As if he wouldn’t have launched a raid on Scilla or Illyria regardless of the fact. Zahra only made it easier for him to act as a little scapegoat. Not that they planned on blaming her, surely? As everyone in the valley knew - all Sigrun were infallible. “I am nothing if not a gentleman.” And gentlemen accompany their lady guests to weddings.

It seems he hit a nerve, though. Whether by his mere presence or by his words, he could not know. @Diomedeidae was charging for him, and he steadied himself on all fours, ready for the impact and to greet her head-on. However, that did not go as planned.

He heard the words and yet his attention remained on the charging woman. But the tides shifted.

”He's mine!”

That is when Rohan’s voice grew louder, closer. Luther sought to spin on his heels and face his half-sibling head-on. Ah. One of his countless siblings, whose faces he hardly remembered and hardly cared to remember. Perhaps Alaric thought him so disposable because he’d made that many spawns, and yet therein lies his mistake. He’d chosen weak women and therefore his progeny will be weak. It was time to put the boy in his place.

Rohan barrelled into him, and Luther allowed his body to fly down from the impact. The collision took his breath out, but he sought to wrap his arms around Rohan so he could try and drag him down so they may tumble in the sand together, trying to sink his talons deep into the bastard’s flesh.

He hopes that's what she's doing, anyway, because the alternative is that Anya is a monster. Colsun wants to shake the lioness until he sees his friend return, but he doesn't know what else to do. His lip curls in frustration. You'll know what he'll do.. Colsun's teeth flash, tufted ears slicking back against his head. “You're better than this.” There is a flash of genuine concern, of love, in his eyes instead of the furious fire. Doesn't she realize that she is nothing to them? “What did they promise you?” Because it has to be something worthwhile, right? It can't just be nothing.

He snarls as she bites into his side, drawing blood that spills freely. She seems intent on hammering away at him, slowly chipping away his resolve not to react. “Do whatever the fuck you have to do,” he spits, attempting to swing his hips into her to knock her off balance. If she wants to play, he'll play.

His paw makes contact with the other lioness, but suddenly the fight has gone from her. His attention is quickly snatched away by Ahyarë and her whispers; Anya forgotten. The Valentine recognizes some glint of hope and fear in her eyes, and he knows then that his concern is valid. There is something god awful going on in Ecrosia. “She will be free,” he promises softly. “And you will be, too.” He just needs to secure Anniston and then he will—

There is a sudden flurry of movement as another arrives – and holy shit, it is not someone he expects. Colsun nearly laughs in relief, but he doesn't manage to say anything before his sister slams into the other lioness following an announcement that their mother is on the way. “It's good to see you too, Kas. Love ya to death and goddamn, what an entrance, but I think we need to bust her out of Ecrosia too.”

Traitor!
