There's a response. It's muddied. Visions of Sangria lurched forwards as if falling out of Arcania's mouth. The spectral illusion tumbling into and through the body of Dio causing her to gasp aloud. Or maybe that's from the feeling of claws digging into her ear and pinning it to the ground below. This one shall be Horror. Four more to go and the seven luck scars will match the seven lucky stars. Sand shifts, giving her a little wiggle room but it's not much.

For now she can more clearly see Arcania for who she is, with this illusion falling away. A stranger. Drenched in the corrupt scent of Vermeda. Dio reaches up over her head with both forepaws and aims to try and dig them into the wedding crasher's shoulders.

The words were somewhat surprising. Oh he had already been to the Brook? Well, that was good, he would know his way around and give Lathan all the more reason to keep him…sedated and confined. Wonderful. Ears twitched as the hateful words were said regarding his Queen- the Ghost Queen. He quite liked that but he knew well enough that Icefang was no ghost. No. She could be touched, there was heat in her flesh, a taste to her flowing blood. She lived. She were no Ghost. "Ah, but Zanmi, you don’t have a choice." He responded as their bodies collided, the thud of impact causing his speech to be said in breaths rather than a full smooth sentence. Their balance faltered as his claws raked into the shoulder of his adversary, the sap doing its job from what he could tell- and feel. Some of the sap working its way to the cuticle where claw met skin and stinging his flesh. It sent white hot pain into the tender area but it was not the first time he had been stung by the sap, he did his best to ignore it. Matti would cut into his own shoulder with sharp claws, and he relished the pain. A growl rumbled in his chest, nostrils flaring at the sensation of fresh blood in the air- his and Matti’s- the scent enough to entice him further, to make him want more blood. The opportunity was presented as the man snapped his teeth at the direction of his muzzle, he would attempt to meet the action with his own open jaws, feeling teeth cut into his gums and tongue. Blood came to the surface, his tongue bleeding too much because well…it was the tongue. Lathan’s goal in his attack was to grasp the upper jaw of his comrade. To attempt to hold onto the upper jaw and nose with his own teeth. His right paw came around as his tail flailed behind them for balance as they tumbled to the ground, Lathan attempted to position himself on top, using that foreleg that wasn’t being used to help push him. A wedding was a wonderful reason for Hanneth to gather up as many flowers that were still blooming and the leaves of plants that would blend well with the flowers. She took great care. She didn't know the lioness well but that didn't matter. Her father was Hanneth's friend and for him, she would do everything she could. It settled a place in her soul that had been on edge since Dero died and she took a little extra time, enjoying the moment of calm she found herself in.

Hanneth heard the sounds as she grew closer to the Lagoon and her ears pinned back. The bundle of flowers hung between her jaws as she arrived and shock took over her expression. What on earth was going on here? Hanneth felt more and more like she was stepping into things that she would never be able to understand fully. She found a lot of faces she knew but it was @Dero that caught her attention and held it first. Her heart hammered in her chest as she started walking toward him without really taking in what was happening around her. She knew he lived in the afterlife now. Hanneth had been careful not to call him to the living, she knew it was selfish but she needed to be able to heal. She needed to be able to find her paws. Dero wouldn't want her to be stuck. Now that he was here, she was drawn to him, drawn to the love that they had. This would have been a wonderful time to see him again, a wedding but the fights around them grew.

Hanneth's focus was stolen when a red lioness moved in front of her. Memories flashed in her mind as she watched where the lioness moved toward and it was then that Hanneth dropped the flowers she had been carrying. @Roan!! She called before Hanneth charged forward, hoping that he would be able to stop the fight from happening. Roan, that is the bride! That is @Caligula's daughter! Would he remember her dearest friend? The bronze lion that had been a part of her life for years and would Roan be willing to step in and try to stop things? Maua! Where are you?! Hanneth yelled as she came to a stop watching the fight. She had been too slow. Where are those who walked among us before? Come! Help the living! Spook them, run through them, whatever it is you can do! Her frantic eyes looked for Dero. He had been there when the dead had helped them in fights before, that could be done now. She may not have been the one to call the dead here but she hoped that they would listen. She hoped that there was just the smallest flicker of her old power still lingering. She needed all of this fighting to stop. For those she cared about to be ok. As her eyes swept among those fighting, she saw so many she knew. To many she cared for. It had to end! Reti's warning about a threat tickled the back of her mind but it didn't sit fully in the chaos.

Oh, I see, you want a hug, she said as claws sank into her shoulders. Ow. Well, that could be accommodated. Except she wasn't going to be returning it with her arms. Arcania lowered herself, crouching on her front paws so that she could attempt to wrap her jaws around the woman's muzzle, trying to get her nose and mouth in between her teeth. Hush and behave now, thank you very much. Maybe Arcania was being a bit petty because she'd never found a mate, though she'd admit to never having been actively seeking one out. There were those she'd been drawn to, but they'd all been stolen away from her, one by one. So yeah, she was pissed at the wedding she supposed, though she didn't realize she was trying to steal away the bride. How much sweeter the fight would be if she did.

The air crackles with a tempest of screams, shouts, and frenzied chants that swirl around her like a violent storm. Chaos reigns as battles ignite in fierce fury all around. Her heart races, attuned to the haunting calls for the fallen echoing in the tumult. In a moment of pure instinct, she sets her sights on the lioness, a target amidst the turmoil, who whispers to the spirits for aid. "Sorcière!" The word hangs heavy in the air towards @Louve ♔ and @Elaine ♔, an invocation charged with desperation.

With a fierce determination, Miaran lunges forward away from her Caladan members, her body a coiled spring ready to unleash itself. She aims to collide with the older female, an attempt to send her crashing down into the sands below. Her claws extend, sharp and unwavering, gripping the earth with ferocity, her paws splayed wide to navigate the chaos with agility. She forces herself to silence the roar of battle within her, pinning back her unscathed ear, squinting her remaining eye against the din, her bared teeth glinting with resolve. Deep inside, she longs to channel her strength into protecting her pride members, to guard them against the encroaching shadows. Yet, she knows that to stand idly by would be a betrayal as an Executioner—her axe must swing, and she must fight with every ounce of her being.

Arcania's muzzle falls haphazard and off center across Dio's muzzle, not quite enveloping it entirely around but leaving thin red lines down from the tip of her nose up towards the bridge. Passion and Respite born. She can feel the vile warmth of Arcania's breath, smell the putrid hate born of her gut and the rot of her insides. Dio reached up further with both of her forelimbs, aiming to drive them into the space behind each of Arcania's ears and drag them down, down around her face, down until they could connect below her chin across her neck. There is a shudder in Dio's body that seems out of place with combat, between the heartbeats, between the strikes and out of rhythm. The smell of the jungle floods her and now she sees what looks like her father standing over her, teeth poised for a kill...

He had no idea that she'd been attacked; no idea that she was going through much the same that he was at that very moment. Fighting for their freedom from the wretched Brook lions. Lions who aimed to bring their new happiness crashing down around them. This was supposed to be a day of celebration. Though, it might still be. Just for the wrong side.

Lathan met him head on and his jaw was a vice, puncturing both the roof of his mouth and his snout and locking in. The man's tongue was caught between teeth, filling both their mouths with the tang of blood. Droplets splattered them both as the red substance flung wide in their struggle, joining the tears flowing freely from his eye. He hadn't meant to cry; it was involuntary from the pain of his nose. At least that's what he told himself as he tried to work through the emotions of what was happening that he could see and what he couldn't around him. His only option for a counter attack was the free movement of his own jaw and he slammed it shut, attempting to grind and gash against the fleshy underside of Lathan's, not expecting much reaction from the man who just allowed his tongue to be shred open in his effort to gain control.

They landed on the nearby pile of coconuts—well, Matti landed on the pile—with a knock to his breath as one found its way beneath his back. Lathan, of course (the bastard), managed to remain steady above him, leering down at him from their locked jaws. The burning in his shoulder continued, a stark reminder of what this man was: a ruthless assassin. A guttural snarl reverberated in his throat and he kicked his back legs up, aiming to catch the man's stomach and rake repeatedly, while also reaching for a coconut—any coconut—hoping to slam it into Lathan's head.

In the background, things seemed to have gone from bad to worse for the cheetah's little friend. Rémi's original target appeared to be getting all sorts of attention whether she liked it or not, and he figured the situation there was about as handled as it would get until she was done with her own fight.

As for himself, well, he had an angry cheetah to focus on.

His teeth opened skin, and the smaller cat's claws only curled tighter into his shoulders, tearing deeper as Rémi continued trying to pull him off and toward the ground. And then his flesh was free of cheetah claws, if temporarily. He felt the beat of paws against his chest, the side of his neck, the signs of immenent bruising, and Rémi would shift the angle of his own head, attempting to clamp his teeth down on the side of the spotted cat's neck and gain a controlling hold. He aimed to constrict, rather than puncture, not yet out to kill the stranger if he could be driven off without such drastic measures.

His attention was snapped away from @Clove as @Hanneth's voice rang out over the crowd, calling his name. The bronze woman was charging forward, mentioning something of a bride and here he didn't even know this was to be a wedding. Caligula's daughter? Did she mean the blue girl she was heading towards? He'd seen her around the Summit before, but had no idea she was Caligula's daughter this whole time. But the red woman fighting her. Her, Roan remembered from years back.

But his granddaughter. He didn't want to leave her alone in this mess. It was then that he spotted another son within the crowd. "See that man over there? The black one with a mask like yours? He's your uncle. Go to him. He'll protect you." If Clove was even still there, Roan sought to guide her to safety before he'd jump into this chaotic frenzy that engulfed the sands around them. Hero would protect the girl, right? There was no time to wait for a response, though, no time to even see if Clove would listen to his instructions before Roan set off an effort to help. It was too late, though, after all that. The fight of blue and red was already well underway, but then something else caught the mauve lion's attention. A figure charging, not towards Caligula's daughter, but towards Hanneth. This grey woman he'd never seen before, seemingly targeting his step-mother. And for what? The Hodari wasted no time to figure out this random attack before altering his own path for the pair of women.

Against the protest of his aging limbs, Roan ran with everything he had in a desperate attempt to save Hanneth from taking the brunt of the stranger's charge. He barrelled forward, aiming to crash his full force into any part of Miaran's body, just anything to keep her from reaching the bronze woman, if he was able. He gave little care for the protection of his already scarred body. Once he was near enough, hungry jaws parted as a nasty snarl erupted from his throat. The Hodari would attempt to sink his teeth into any pound of flesh that was within reach of him, hopeful that he could, at the very least, create enough of a distraction for Hanneth to get away.

In these situations, Renly felt utterly helpless. Being a daughter of a large legacy, she had never felt fear in regards to the chaos that had unraveled within the confines of the Lagoon but it did make her feel erratic. Lingering along the outskirts of most of the lions and trying to keep her focus on those that might not be as well defended as another. There was no one that she immediately knew to attack and no one she could know well enough to defend — who belonged to where? So she stuck close to any members of the pride that were not otherwise engaged in a fight or two. Dedicating her vision to keep watch or take direction.
