The sun rose in the den that Aphrodite had found and shared with her children. It brightened up the den area and caused her to yawn and stretch. Granted her children could already be out exploring in the Plains or still asleep, but she knew regardless they were close to her as she removed herself from the den. Shaking out the sleep and stretching out her joints Aphrodite would glance around before calling for any of her children to come and join her on one of her many trips out of the pride lands. Aphrodite needed to restock on a few things.

Gathering her pouch and the fur coat she wore, Aphrodite began to make her way towards the borders only stopping once to see if any of her children were going to join her before continuing out towards the fields nearby. She didn't want to go too far, it was cold and her children were still young and traveling may be hard on their legs. But she wanted them to learn about the many things of life, even if they didn't remember or pursue them further in their life.

Remnant was playing with some bits of fur that she'd collected from different areas of the den, pretending it was prey and pouncing on it. She'd woken up early and was trying not to wake the others. She heard @Aphrodite begin to wake up and then call for her siblings and her. "Coming, Mama!" She called back, scurrying over and tossing the fur pile all over the floor in the process. She'd clean it up later. Probably. She observed her mother's pouch and fur coat and donned her own small fur coat, affirming it loosely with vines like her mother, since she wasn't dexterous enough yet to affix it tightly. She tromped along behind her mother, wide eyes taking jn all of the scenery. Even the parts she'd seen before still amazed her, she was only three months old after all. "Where are we going, Mama? Aphrodite Goddess of the Dead The child to join her was @Remnant and Aphrodite gave the dual colored girl a smile and nuzzle on top of her head. Violet jewels had taken in the little fur coat her daughter wore over her own body, much like her own and chuckled. It was cute. She was slow in her walk to make sure Remnant didn't get worn out by the slightly longer journey at only three months old. Ears twisted as she was ever alert about their surroundings, making sure that there were no threats that would cause Aphrodite to have to be ruthless in front of an innocent soul. She saw none and would turn her attention to her daughter with a smile on her face. We are going to the fields nearby and I'm going to teach you about plants. Once they had made it to the fields, Aphrodite would pause long enough to look around the open area. It was going to be a bit difficult to find plants with the winter laying firmly on the lands but she would find something. Some of the plants could still be harvested during winter months due to their own survival. So, Aphrodite would begin to move and look for the more easier plant which was more of a tree really. Violet jewels glancing around the area until she found something that was familiar and moved towards it, spotting the little tree poking above the soft layer of snow. Remnant pressed her head into @Aphrodite's nuzzling affectionately. Even with her mother going slower to account for Remnant's shorter legs and lower stamina, she still had to put effort into keeping up without tripping on the snow. She watched her mother scan the area and mimicked her, looking from side to side for threats. Her mother answered her question, explaining that they were going to the fields to learn about plants. "But aren't the plants all dead, Mama? They're hiding under the snow and died." She asked Aphrodite on the way to the fields. Her question was answered when they got to the fields and Aphrodite located the small tree. Remnant would have missed it, mostly because she was still so small and had a lower line of sight, had her mother not gone over to clear away the snow. She walked over as well, speeding up when her mother motioned for her. "A plant!" She exclaimed excitedly, then dropped ro a whisper. "What kind of plant is it, Mama? Can we eat it?" Aphrodite Goddess of the Dead @Remnant asked her a question about the plants but before she could answer she had already found the plant sticking above the snow. She had cleared nearly all of the snow when her daughter got excited and asked if she could eat it causing Aphrodite to put a paw between her daughter and the plant while shaking her head. No, these plants can be dangerous and hurt you. She would state, I'm going to teach you about them so you know the difference between the good plants and bad ones. She would soon continue afterwards. Once she felt that the plant was clear of the snow, Aphrodite would stop and glance over towards her daughter. This plant is called Acokanthera. We can use the stem bark and roots. She would begin to explain to Remnant. Ears twisting on top of her head as she glanced towards both her daughter and the plant itself before settling on her daughter. Now you be careful and don't eat it, it will cause bad things to you. Remnant watched her mother explain the danger of the plant with awe-filled eyes. This was a bad plant. She nodded sagely to show her understanding, with all of the deep wisdom of a small cub. @Aphrodite continued, explaining what the plant was. "Acotan-, Acokanter-, Ac-o-kan-ther-a." She tried to repeat after her mother, sounding the word out on her last attempt. "Ac-o-kan-ther-a bark and roots do bad things. Don't eat them." She echoed back. She processed the information, tucking it away into her mental information bank. "What kind of bad things, Mama?" She asked, curiously. "Do you use it against bad lions?" She stepped closer to the plant, carefully going in to sniff it. It smelled faintly sweet. She then turned to look at her mother, "How do you harvest it if you can't eat it?" She asked. The easiest way to grab things was with her mouth but she didn't want to do that if would hurt her to bite it. She wasn't sure that the roots would come out with it if she pulled it like that either, the ground beneath looked pretty hard from having been underneath all the cold snow.

Aphrodite Goddess of the Dead Aphrodite would wait for @Remnant to process the information that she had given her before asking her a question. A proud smile formed in the mother's features as she would glance towards the plant. This specific plant will cause antifertility and cardiac arrest. To very bad things. She would explain further, he knew that Remnant want to want to the definition of those things and Aphrodite would give them to her if asked so she waited patiently for those questions. Yes. It was a simple question so her daughter got an easy question from her. Now came an interesting question. She would state, shifting to pull out a big leaf from her pouch and place it on the ground before removing more of the bark. Once we get what we want, we will wrap the leaf and be able to carry it however we like. Remnant nodded as @Aphrodite answered her questions. "What's auntie fert-ill-itty? And cardak arrest?" She asked curiously. She didnt think she'd heard of them before, the words striking her as unfamiliar. She didn't inquire further about the bad lions, she was satisfied with her mother's short answer. Bad lions deserved bad things to happen to them. She watched her mother begin to harvest the bark and listened intently, taking mental notes. As Aphrodite placed the large leaf on the ground and began pulling more bark, Remnant as well stuck out her small cub claws and tore off some pieces of bark with her paw. They were smaller than her mother's bark pieces but she felt proud to be helping. "Can we out my pieces in your pouch too? I don't have a pouch." Remnant asked, realizing that this was something she was have to remedy if she was going to study plants with her mother again. She continued pulling off smaller pieces of bark until she had a little pile on the leaf. "How do we collect the roots?" Even though one was rather brutal, the Black Widow was not going to hide things from her daughter or any of her children for that matter. Anti fertility is a way to stop others from having children while cardiac arrest can eventually - if not treated immediately - kill someone. The lack of blood flow to the brain and other organs was a big cause of that and Aphrodite knew that if she planned on using this on anyone, well she'd just make sure no one was there to save them. But for now, this was a teaching lesson about the plant, not on someone else. Plus there were no creatures here to use it on other than herself and Remnant and that was obviously out of the question. Violet jewels watched Remnant as she began to cut her own pieces of bark and stick with Aphrodite's own bigger pieces. Aphrodite would make sure her daughter was properly stocked for her trips out to collect plants. For now, Aphrodite would cut a few more pieces of bark before feeling satisfied about what she gathered and began to push the big leaf into a roll before glancing over to her daughter. Normally we would just did the whole plant up and take it back home with us and just remove the bark and root from the plant but with it being winter, I want to leave this plant here for the warmer seasons to see if it'll grow bigger. Stopping lions from having children was certainly powerful, but the lethal effects were far more interesting to Remnant. She tucked that information away for further study, perhaps when she was older and her mother was willing to elaborate more. She grinned widely when @Aphrodite promised to give her her own pouch when she's big enough. "You're gonna have to make it soon Mama, I'll be bigger so fast!" Remnant emphasized her statement by swiping her paw above her head to indicate her future height. As Aphrodite began to roll up the leaf, Remnant got a few more pieces of bark and pushed them onto it. She listened with rapt attention as her mother explained why they weren't yet collecting the roots. "How big can the Ac-o-kan-ther-a get?" She asked with wide eyes, imagining a tree towering above them and then her mother carrying the comically-sized tree home.
