With his darling daughters newly born into the world he was on cloud nine, but more determined than ever to make sure there was enough food. Not just for Khadija so she didn’t starve and struggle while feeding four hungry little mouths, but winter was coming. He was sure prey would get harder to find.

Having been busy that morning he hadn’t called for a hunt at the normal time he would have. Instead he called for one more towards midday. Going to the meeting rock like normal he chuffed calling others to hunt. Hopefully with it being later in the day others would get out of their beds and come help. Sometimes it felt like pulling teeth to get others to come help hunt.

Waiting a few minutes for others to come he would then start to search for the scent of prey and follow it.

Miaran was deep in her patrol when the exhilarating call for a hunt rang out, a vibrant echo that sparked a rush of adrenaline within her. It was midday, the sun casting a warm glow over the land, and she couldn't resist sending out a chuff, a hopeful invitation to any companions who might be nearby. After a brief trek, her heart skipped at the sight of the familiar orange lion ahead, a beacon of camaraderie that always filled her with joy.

With a broad smile, she scanned the surroundings, eagerly anticipating the arrival of others to share in this exciting moment. "I truly hope we can catch something to cache on this hunt," she mused, her voice barely above a whisper yet laden with passion. "While Khadija tends to the cubs and her own healing, I’ll take a stroll through the Jungle and Grove to gather some much-needed medicines." Her gaze lingered on @Milano, infusing her words with a blend of determination and affection as she imagined the teamwork that lay ahead.

Rose was late. Tiredness hung to her expression as she strolled towards @Milano, nodding her head briefly to @Miaran before stepping closer to the lead hunter. She still wasn’t sure how she felt about their sovereign. Milano and Khadija couched for her, so she wasn’t outright fearful since recent revelations, but she was still weary of the now one eyed woman. Despite her reluctance, and the dull throb that pulsed at her temples, a girl - and the pride- still needed to eat! Let us hunt! she tried to chirp happily but words caught somewhat in her throat and came out in gravely tones. She was getting a bit of an autumn cold possibly? The baron stretches on her rock as the lead hunters' call echoes over the beach. The young lioness pulls herself up padding to where they had been called. She wasn't much of a hunter but she also didn't wanna stand out as being too lazy. The baron liked her relaxing moments sunning on rocks or just strolling the borders but she also didn't wanna sow distrust so here she was.

She chuffed lightly in greeting as she arrived lavender eyes noting the gathered lions. Their lead hunter @Milano had called them and their high queen @Miaran and Lead storyteller Rose had joined them. However, Otter does not know the name or title of the colorful woman.

"Are you okay?" she asks carefully as she moves to walk beside @Rose a concerned look in her eyes. She hadn't caught what the other lioness had said but she had heard the odd gravely sound of her voice.

As the hunting party gathered he nodded his head in greeting to each one. Eyes then scanned to land back upon the prey. Taking a deep breath he gave a flick of his tail to signify that the hunt was a go. The wildebeest would be a good thing to help fill their cache for the coming winter. It shall supply food to eat and the hide could be used to make bedding for someone. Maybe he should start making more bedding for others to come claim near the main food cache. In any case he would worry about that later. At the moment he took off after the beast to help herd it into place.

As they waited for more to gather with them she noticed the lioness whose name she did not know approach her. As @Neeha asked if she was ok she nodded, but too a deliberate step away from the woman. Oh yes, I think I’m just getting a bit of a cold. she explained, swallowing down the scratch that plagued the back of her throat. I would go to our healer, but I wouldn’t forgive myself if I got Khadija sick as she’s about to have her cubs. she would manage a little cold well enough in her own. I’m Rose, I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m lead storyteller here. she introduced herself. Milano soon called them to attention as he singled out their prey. She was silently glad it wasn’t something as intense as a full grown giraffe this time. She was careful to watch him as he approached, trying to learn what she could from their lead hunter. He’d done well in teaching her how to fish, why not learn about larger game as well? As he moved to herd the beast into position she moved to cut off its escape route and it began to run. She didn’t quite have the strength to launch herself at the wildebeest but she could still be useful here. While her mind hadn’t already skinned the creature and turned it into bedding she certainly agreed it would make a good addition to their food cache. More souls arrived after Miaran stepped into the area, her gaze drifting towards @Rose, who spoke with a voice laced with discomfort, her tail twitching with concern. "I don't know the common name for the plant you seek," Miaran replied softly, her heart heavy with concern. "Back home, we call it absinthe (Wormwood). It eases the suffering." She turned her eyes to the bard, the weight of her words filled with urgency. "While Khadija dedicates her strength to nurturing her small cubs, I will venture out to gather herbs to replenish our reserves."

Even as an Assassin, Miaran possessed a deep understanding of the balance between life and death, knowing which plants had the power to inflict pain and which could mend the wounded. When Milano set out on the hunt, Miaran sprang into action, her spirit ignited with determination. The wildebeest fell swiftly, and despite her own wounds, the small hunting party united in their strength, taking down the creature together. As they prepared it for the cache, a powerful sense of camaraderie enveloped Miaran. She nodded to her companions, their shared purpose bolstering her resolve, before she seized a substantial piece to carry back to the cache, her heart pounding with pride and duty as she returned to her vigilant patrols.

Rose had listened as Miaran instructed her on the herb she needed to help her. She gave the woman a quick nod, Thanks, I'll look for it. she offered a smile even as a sniffle could be heard coming from her. She was sure she'd be fine. She probably shouldn't be out hunting, but her pride needed help and so she was there. She just needed to get back to bed and sleep it off honestly. They made quick work of the pray once the hunt actually began. Rose did what she could to stay out of the way of sharp hooves as her movements were a bit sluggish but managed to come out unscathed. When the work was complete she turned to leave her companions, making her way back to her den for a good rest to help booster her immune system and fight off whatever it was she was dealing with. -exit, super late sorry but I'm trying to get the exp for the hunt lol
