Luther Rike a name is given to the light colored male challenger- and Eisa's gaze darts to him, as @Morrigan speaks, is not the Jarl, but speak of the devil and he shall appear. She draws in a breath, following Morrigan's line of sight- her own snarl to echo her grandmothers as she hears it, and she speaks. Rainer, the one with the fresh hole in his head.

When Morrigan is in her own battle, she turns and moves. Eisa aims to skirt around through the crowd- breaking into a run as she fixes her gaze on him. Eisa aims to slam into the male, hoping that her shoulder will connect with his, as her jaws part in an attempt to latch onto the side of his face- hoping to gain the upper paw, immediately.

"Rike Jarl, meet the Sigrun Jarl." She would snarl, uncaring who would hear her words. Uncaring how damning they could be. No longer would she hide who she was.

Ana. In the moment that the Gentry must rise to help his pride he thinks first of her. The calls begin, the tempo grows faster, and he feels the air of the Mire grow thicker than usual. Blood will be spilled, of that he is certain. But there was no promises it would only be Zahra's and her challengers. There's no telling what will come for them today, what may happen tomorrow if the Sigrun Queen cannot win this contest. While Ana is absent from his view his worry begins to grow, and every pound of him strives to find her and ensure his promises don't go unfulfilled...

He's late to things, so many lions are already around but he's not been able to find Analía anywhere else.... With great dread he approached the scene. The clash of bodies come one after another like thunder claps. Teeth and nail flash like white lightening. His gaze did not rest anywhere long for there was far too much for him to take in and process to allow him to take time.

So the Mire was not Luther's anymore? Now she understood why he came to the Pasis along all of his stained family. He was such a disgusting lion she wished she didn't share blood with him. A male who's crueltly had no comparison in anyone he had met before. Why couldn't he die already? How many lives and unfairness would that save to the world?

She used some vegetation to hide. For she wouldn't like to be spotted by the asshole or any of his family.

Amongst the lions fighting she spotted Bruno. Happy to see him back, he was the right sibling unlike Luther. And thus she watched to asses his wounds. As it seemed the fight might not be too kind or free of severe maims.

Oh good lord, he should have known he'd immediately be swarmed. His lips pulled into a thin line at @Cassius ♔' greeting, though he couldn't deny that he was the smaller of the two of them and always would be. Tragic. And there was @Velasco as well. Always good to see him, Temero thought. If nothing else, perhaps he could be a buffer between himself and the Bluffs X'uekai. Goodness only knew Temero didn't want to be Cassius' punching bag at the moment. I think anyone on the Mire side? he whispered back just as softly.

He was relieved when @Icefang ♔ showed up, though he was careful not to show it. Granted, that relief only lasted a second when she immediately brought up the fact that he was missing some pieces. Some crazy bitch at the Pit ate them, he muttered in response.

His earlier response to Velasco was proven correct when someone yelled out to "get that Sigrun bitch" and then joined the group on his other side. More Rike, he suspected. Speaking of which, they were discussing something in another language, and he could only guess it was about him considering @Lorelei said his name. Great. That probably wasn't good. What definitely wasn't good was that look the large gray male was giving him. He was definitely reading into it, but Temero couldn't help but feel as though he was being appraised and found lacking. Well, tended to happen with people's daughters, he supposed. Though considering what Lorelei had told him of the Rike's beliefs regarding women, he wasn't too sure that sentiment applied.

He watched as the man's gaze passed over him to Icefang, but then movement on the sidelines erupted into a fight and... Incoming, he said aloud as someone charged directly at the just introduced @Rainer. There, he'd been nice and given him a warning. How kind of him.

What does a guy have to do around here to get a moment of quality time with his kids? At this rate, they were never going to make it to the evisceration part of the curriculum!

A flicker of movement in the corner of his remaining eye drags the Rike's attention away from Icefang, dark lips twitching with open amusement when he sees precisely who the rat skulking in the shadows has set his eyes upon. @Morrigan is overdue for a date with misfortune or two or ten, after all. The rogue blade may as well have his fun while he could, for the last laugh would soon be Rainer's to claim. As the battle-scarred woman seems to falter (uncharacteristically) beneath the assault, the Jarl would cast a gleaming eye towards @Rusalka, taking only cursory notice of the rosetted woman near her and...and...

Hadn't a blood-red beast been standing there too, just a few moments ago?

He growls with the lackluster warning, sharply pivoting away from @Temero and @Lorelei both as he instinctively flung himself to the left just in time to painfully meet shoulders with - what he assumes - is the clever little man that had gone for his blind side. He can feel his bones rattle with the bruising force of their collision, and his unsheathed claws instinctively grip at the soft earth beneath his feet, stance widening as he sought to restabilize his balance. The moment's disorientation leaves him open to the sting of @Eisa's teeth digging in to leave their own marks of abuse upon his face, opposing canines piercing the bridge of his nose and the fluff of his chin simultaneously.

'Rike Jarl, meet the Sigrun Jarl.'

It takes a second to sink in, a tangle of revelations unraveling across his senses all at once, but once it clicks into place - he laughs, the jeering, disbelieving cackle accompanying the arcing movement of his right forearm as he attempted to forcefully smack the creature's head away with his massive forepaw, mud-flecked claws extended menacingly.

My, my...your kind really have fallen on hard times, haven't zey, little mutt? He coos through clenched teeth, single eye glittering with cruel delight. Because despite the fluffy mane that rings his attacker's neck, it is a woman that stands before him, a truth betrayed by the light undertones of her snarling voice and the scent of female rushing into his flared nares, not quite masked by the swampland's stench.

A woman calls herself Jarl. Finally, he meets his destined rival upon the battlefield, and it is a woman who claims herself his equal straight to his face. And somehow, nature itself has perverted her appearance in a futile bid to disguise its mistake, the natural order of things finally drowned in the cursed waves.

At least he could still count on the Sigrun to make things interesting.

She was correct for having come here. Perfectly on time, too. With a perfect seat to watch the first, main fight. She didn't care who suffered but it would be potentially convenient if Luther won. She was sure she could spin him into an ally. Sure, she'd neglected to follow him wherever he went. Sure she hadn't talked to him since then. But he was still extremely unpopular, so she figured she could offer the bare minimum and he'd beg to thank her.

Her lips twitched as she kept her ears still, her inward mirth not apparent from a distance but dwelling soulfully in her eyes if any bothered to look. And she was the biggest, pinkest one here, the most gloriously fluffy, so if they didn't take the chance to look it was their loss. Oh such delightful family gossip! She wasn't sure whether to enjoy being above it or resent not being part of it. Both, probably. She did enjoy resenting things.

Lips skimmed to a mockery of breathless wonder as a flurry of warnings pipe out. Jarl against Jarl, boring, but disgraced brother king and that walking corpse! The one who had led a raid against her (against Luther, but she was there) and stolen a member from her (ok it was some bitch from the Plains but still) and really she hadn't fought her best, they'd been nipping at her heels. Were her fluffy boots still scuffed? Indubitably. Now she rose with her scruff tensing and fluff spilling like a shawl, and her pointed expression shaping out before it. Fangs hooked around a vibrant red tongue like a snake showing off an apple. "Get her! Get her! Don't let her run! Toss her in the pit!" Memory flashed to the battle she had unjustly survived. The winter ring at the Pit, the spectacle ending with Morrigan living and Toblerone dragged away with broken ribs.

Oh, yeah, guess the Summit had loyalists here again too? She drew up, still standing, but suddenly alert and quivering. This spotlight felt cold. A small circle of razor red light.

More lions arrived. He had to avert his eyes from Zahra's attacks but there was nowhere else to look but more bristling violence. "Your mother wants you to be safe and hide," he spoke in a quiet, oddly clear tone, gazing around while not looking at @Glenda as though by not acknowledging her, he could keep her from being attacked. "There's a stream to the northwest. Walk upstream through the pebbles and look for a cave by the white rock. That's both of you." @Zenith

He rose and slipped off when Eisa moved, as though her charge might be contagious, as though a current which he must resist. His ears pressed slick to his scalp. Whatever a Jarl was, she and her enemy were both one, and this fact added some farce of dignity to the fight in the eyes of the beholders. He didn't want to watch this either - or see Morrigan fighting, not someone he knew, someone who had grown older while he became less young.

Running out of clear space here in fight land. He stopped, his tail swishing low, and pointed his voice toward the main challenge while keeping his eyes averted. He needed to do something to help his pride. "You can do this @Zahra! Focus on winning! We all got this!"

The large cub was driven from her home to go check out the commotion that this fight had started. Quietly she hide amongst some bushes, eyes of gold scrutinizing the place, it was similarto her own territory where deep plantlife could be found yet here was more humid and with swamps around. A new kind of terrain for the white cub.

Eyes landed firstly on the main fight, watching attentively. Finding some interest in the art of combat. Then another fight caught her intention, this one even more savage between an elder and a curly male. Though for some reason Amari didn't seem to mind, she simply watched with eyes wide. She lied down on her hiding spot as her eyes landed on the one fight between two males(She doesn't know Eisa is a female.) There she watched quietly

Eisa knew that by announcing herself as the Jarl of the Sigrun she would effectively place a target on her head. Yet, she did not care. She was tired of not knowing what it meant- and tired of being in the shadows. She decided, that she would make a name for herself- that she would bring some... glory back to the family she loved. Eisa would no longer sideline herself- and instead she would fight.

Eisa could curse those who warned the male of her presence, her ears though she had flattened them as best as she could- trying to protect them did not miss those words, and as he turned towards his left and they painfully collided. Eisa would snarl in defiance and rage, and a bit of pain as the collision reverberated through her body, surely bruising her own shoulder with the impact as her teeth found the bridge of his nose and the fluff of his chin.

Her greeting is apparently met with another jeer, and has she not been occupied, she would have rolled her eyes. "So original." She would hiss as his paw impacts the side of her head, knocking the grip of her teeth loose. Eisa would aim to gather herself, stumbling a step from the impact, and she would try to quickly give her head a shake before she would aim to turn back towards him, jaws splaying open again in an attempt to latch onto the side of his head, near his ear if she were able to reach, regardless of what she could get ahold of she would aim to jerk downwards, in a quick motion- hoping to rend or rip flesh from his body while her claws would splay, aiming to keep traction on the earth beneath her- trying to stabilize herself as best as she could.

This was foolish.

So many scents, so many lion scents, crowded around this singular location. The entire swampland screamed of danger, every kind imaginable, and yet Carmine couldn’t stop the wandering path of her thoughts. Why were so many lions here? What had brought them all together? What could be so important that it would draw such a large and diverse crowd? No two scents were exactly alike, though the array of alliances were clear.

So much could be learned…

Against every bit of sensibility and better judgment she possessed, the wolf tiptoed over the border denoting the edge of a claimed territory—she shuddered at her own brazenness—and followed the numerous scents of those who preceded her to the spectacle hidden within the widely gathered crowd.

Not completely relieved of her senses, she didn’t dare approach outright. Instead, Carmine wandered the outside edges, weaving back and forth through the dense, muddy underbrush of the mire while maintaining a healthy distance. From a number of different hidden vantage points, she listened to the lions converse. Predictions as to the outcome of the territory challenge—apparently between warring families, the Sigrun and Rike?—allegiances being made clear, and a handful of side conversations, a few even escalating into fights of their own.

She watched those in particular—all the fights, really. While seeing the lions tearing into each other, biting, slashing, clawing, bleeding, made her skin crawl, Carmine wanted to know this fellow predator as a whole more intimately. The better to be prepared should one turn on her.
