it was not often her that summoned them. louve left the hunts to others, busying herself with other business. but this time there was no call and the queen was well aware of their emptying caches.

there is a hint of irritation when she realizes but she is, thankfully, alone. by the time she picks up the scent of wayward prey along their eastern border she has erased any such give aways. her expression is held ever carefully neutral as she calls for the pride to join her, hoping that at least some will attend this much needed hunt.

Ah, it seemed the high sovereign was feeling more up to snuff these days. Though Dysnomia certainly wasn't judging her for being more reclusive. She had lost her mate, after all. Dys supposed she would feel the same, in her situation. Where was her own mate, one might ask? Shut up, that was different.

She found the donkey's scent as she approached, unsurprised to find it in this terrain. She supposed this would be easy enough. Worst came to worst, they could just chase it off a cliff and go fetch it after the fact. But she did hope more than just the Dieudonne matriarch and herself showed up, though she'd make it work regardless.

Things seemed to be pretty stagnant within the Bluffs save the couple of challenges; as if all the important things within the land were happening elsewhere. All the more reason to take my leave sooner rather than later.

It was the queen’s call for a hunt this time around and Sable was this close to ignoring it and just going back to what she was doing. But, she was at least a little hungry so what would it hurt to help out and get a snack before taking the rest back to the caches. She slunk in beside the pair, sight set on the fleeing donkey and surged forward to strike at one of its flanks.

she hears her mother let loose a call for the pride to join in on a hunt and so quickly does her loyal hound move. manon snakes through the territory, red eyes alert and hungry as they search out the prey that the rest of wolfbron has fallen in pursuit behind. it's not long before she finds them, a group of lionesses numbering three all chasing not far behind a donkey which looks to be a far worse opponent than the animal the entire valley had attempted to hunt some months ago.

manon is quick to become synchronized with the rest of her pridemates, paws pounding hard against the earth. as time goes on, the young dieudonné has gotten slowly faster and faster with repeated exercise. so, as much as it may cause her soreness in the coming days, the yearling gives it her all, muscles bunching and then exploding to propel her further towards their prey. surely, it wouldn't be long until the animal was entirely overwhelmed by their combined force.

Étoile is up next, her dark coat blending with the scenery as she slunk forward. She was, in all actuality, no great sleuth or spy, so her stealthiness held something to be desired but... who cared, really? Certainly not the donkey.

The Dieudonné and their cohorts swarmed the thing, a temporary hive mind in tandem with their queen, all gunning for the same animal with limited patience for any other. Oh, how Étoile's Dieudonné blood wished for something more appetizing.

A shame the others were not willing to play a little game of tag.

Her paws tapped through ceaseless dim, ears perked to the growing din that raged over the echoes of the call. Black voids of nostrils pulsed and jaws sunk open, breeze wafting over the canopy of her maw fragrant with multitudes of lions and one indignant ass. Drool hinged along the lining of her lips, budding like dew. Void like a black hole's horizon flickered under her wide eyes as they darted between heavy steps of pridemates. Palpatine hung back until enough of a hole emerged for her to burst toward the clatter of hooves, tossing before her a warning snarl at any lionesses chancing to cross her path. Blind savage coming through!

was there any question that they would be victorious?

donkey's might be sure-footed little beasts but they had nothing on the lions of wolfbron, who knew their home and it's terrain better than any creature. it is easy when the women come, emerging from their shadows, a force to be reckoned with. it fills the matriarch's heart with pride to see so many of the so-called "fairer" sex band together, reminding her of exactly why her family valued them so highly.

they make quick work of the beast and it is no time at all before his dying breaths fill her ear, his jugular coating her tongue with blood. she is only satisfied when she is near drenched in it, lifting her head from the now-dead prey with a blood-soaked grin.

louve would look at each of them in turn, yellow eyes blazing with her admiration, before snagging her fair share and leaving the rest to them.

It seemed they could all still work together, even with the odd tension in the pride lately. Good for them. It would be a tragedy to see the place fall apart after how long it had withstood the test of time and those who thought to take it from those who had rightfully lived there for... wow, generations now. It was impressive, to say the least, and she could say she had helped to keep it going as they brought down the donkey, and would all be fed for a little while longer.

She waited while the others took their fill, if they wished, and only then would she start dragging it off to the cache. She could get her meal once it was properly squared away.
