Alexander's large form lumbered up to the top of the Hollows; once there he slowly stretched out amongst the sun-tinted flowers of the garden. His unique colors glowed in the soft, fading light. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, Alexander let out a contented sigh. The world grew quiet around him, the day's heat giving way to the coolness of evening. With eyes half-closed, he savored the tranquil moment, a majestic figure at peace in his realm, basking in the beauty of the sunset. If only there were someone here to share this with him.

He didn't really need to be patrolling the borders, but he didn't have anything else to be doing at that moment, and he'd already taken a nap that day so lazing about was out the metaphorical window for the time being. But since he didn't really feel like walking the whole thing he'd headed up through the tunnels to the place where Thella had shown them a while ago, because he could get a view from up there in much less time and with much less effort while still having done the same task. Mostly.

Though, by the time he got up there someone else was already present. Someone he was always delighted to see and who, for once, didn't seem to be busy.

Wow, what a weird looking flower, he joked as he picked his way towards his mate, attempting to not crush literally everything under his paws as he did so.

Alexander had almost dozed off completely by the time he head @Angelo's voice break the serene silence. A sleepy, half-awake smile curves his lips at the words, a low laugh escaping him. "I am a gorgeous flower, you must admit. Even if weird." He teases back, moving to gently wrap his forepaws around his husband's neck and pull him down next to him.

Instantly would his face attempt to bury into the other's soft, tousled mane. A low hum of contentment arose within his chest, his mind at peace for a moment. "I was just dreaming about you." He rumbles lovingly, moving to press a kiss under Angelo's chin, beginning to groom the other diligently. It wasn't often they got quiet, alone time like this. Alexander wanted to take full advantage.

Oh, only the most gorgeous one, he replied, flopping down beside his mate and letting himself get pulled in. It was so nice that they could have these moments like this, without the threat of war or some other danger looming over their heads. Things even seemed peaceful with the Dieudonne now, and so he felt as though he could finally relax after all the years spent looking over their shoulders for what might be coming next.

Must've been a great dream then! he said, a rumbling purr starting deep in his chest as he kneaded the ground beneath him with his paws, making little biscuits in the dirt. Unless I was doing something stupid, then not so much, he joked. Which was entirely possible given his nature. Which, to be fair, he tried not to be too much of a goober, but sometimes it seemed like the world conspired against him.

I dreamed the other day that all the kids were little again and they were using me as a jungle gym, he commented. They grow up so damn fast! He'd never realized, but the proof was right there in front of him.

Alexander grins shamelessly at his husband, a low thrum of affection vibrating his throat. A paw outstretches to the other, but it doesn't take much before @Angelo is within his embrace, next to him on the Earth. Tail flicks behind him, moving to boldly brush along his mates lovingly as they converse. Lips curve into a slow, lazy smile, "I always have beautiful dreams about you." He offers a kiss to the bottom of Angelo's chin.

Ears flick, his head rolling to the side so he could gaze up at the other, "They do..." He comments quietly, his mind wandering to their children. While he did have newborns, it was always so obvious when the children became old enough to be out and about on their own for the most part. "Do you..." He pauses, thinking of the Mother, if she would bless them again. "Do you want to have more?" They could pray to Her, seek her guidance on the matter.

Angelo twines their tails together, turning his head to press a series of kisses along Alexander's cheek as he spoke, still doing his best to listen. Oh good, would be a shame if I had to go beat up my dream self for giving you nightmares, he joked. As if such a thing were possible.

His ears perked up in curiosity at Alexander's somewhat hesitant speech, only for his expression to brighten at the notion of there not only being more cubs running around, but of them being from the two of them. You think the Mother would give us more? he asked hopefully, though he knew his mate wouldn't have suggested it if he didn't. That would be wonderful. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind being a jungle gym or a play rug for any of the little buggers, but there's something that much more special about it when they're part yours, you know?

Alexander's smile was endless, he couldn't stop. Looking at his husband just brought out such a feeling. A tireless happiness that he rarely felt these days. It was moments like these that kept him going. With the ones he loved. His head moves forward to press his nose to @Angelo's cheek. This moment, it was intimate, important. He didn't want it to end.

Angelo was unsure if the Mother would bless them again. It was understandable. They were blessed so much already. The Mother had been so gracious since they'd arrived here within Amaryllis. "All we can do is pray to Her." He encourages softly. The King falls silent as Angelo explains his feelings. A nod is offered, moving now to rub his cheek fully against his husband's.

"Let us speak to Her, see if she once again answers, yes?" He moves then, to place his paws against Angelo's as he bowed his head and breathed deep, beginning a prayer that his husband would be familiar with and could join in; calling for the Mother to show them a sign, to bless them and give them hope they would have more of their own cubs soon.

A rumble through the earth starts slowly for the pair as Maua grows closer. While not the Mother they call for, Maua cares for them all and their love is clear. The winds pick up and start to swirl around the pair. Taking from both of them what is needed to answer their prayers. Care for them. Was whispered among the rumble of the earth before everything came to a sharp halt. Maua watched the pair for a long moment before pushing forth the knowledge that they would have cubs together. Maua wasn't sure if they would be open to the feeling, the knowledge, the warmth being sent through them but if they felt it, they would know for sure.

It took a moment, but as he prayed, Alexander could feel something. Small at first, then rumbling to life beneath his very paws. The Mother. She had come to answer them, to let them know that she had placed upon them a most joyous blessing. The Savante's heart swelled, his blue eyes welling up. To know that his faith was not unanswered brought him even closer to it. Leaning in, Alexander moved to bring his husband into a loving embrace, quietly pressing his nose against the other's in an intimate affection that needed no words. @Angelo would know - just as he did, that the laughter of their children would once again echo within these halls.

He didn't pray often, wasn't really the paragon of the faith that the other Savante were and was absolutely nowhere near the holy warrior that Dmitri was. But he knew how to, and so he joined Alexander in his beseeching of the Mother. And lo and behold someone answered them. He felt the rumbling under his paws at first, and then that whisper of a promise and he too knew, just as his mate did, that they were blessed.

He leaned into Alexander's embrace, pressing his nose against his in a kiss and then nuzzling in beside him amongst the flowers. Soon enough there would be more little ones, and he could bring them up here to enjoy the flowers as well, presuming they were old enough before winter hit. If not, then he would wait for spring, but regardless he would do so.
