Alexander's form moved within the night with ease. His feet carrying him quickly across the land with ease. A low chuff expels from his lips as he calls for his pride mates, once again wanting to pull them all together again. It was time to fill the caches once more, especially with all the children filling the ranks. Those Mother's would need all the sustenance they could get. Body stretches out languidly, preparing his muscles for the hunt.

Oh, look at that, a buffalo was wandering around again. He wasn't surprised that prey seemed to make its way into their territory these days. At least it saved them all the trouble of going and finding it, and the more trouble they could save themselves from the better.

He heard Alexander's chuff shortly thereafter and made his way towards it to join the hunting party instead of just picking up on it halfway through like he did sometimes. He tried to make it to these things so that he was, you know, actually doing something, and also because usually it was some large animal. This time was no exception.

There was always something going on within the Hollow, it seemed. Jun wanted to keep working on her garden and bolstering her supply of herbs as there were a number of expectant mothers and newborn cubs that needed tending to, because illness could easily sweep through a pride with that many young ones even if it was the middle of summer, but she also knew that keeping everyone fed was just as important. So she came to join the call, hoping that it wouldn't take too long so she could get back to what she had been doing. Far be it from her to ignore the call of the high sovereign, though.

Thella turned without hesitation from her current path and headed in the direction of Alexander’s call, though it took her some time to wind through their maze of tunnels and cross to the other side of the territory. By the time she reached him, Angelo, and Jun, they’d already worn the buffalo down quite a bit. Thankfully, too, as she just wasn’t feeling it today. Of course, that wasn’t going to stop her from helping, but as soon as they could finish and get the food stored away, the better.

She chuffed a greeting and surged forward, reaching to trip the buffalo up and send it flying into the ground.

Sluggishly did he draw himself along the borders and scratching at the tunnels and rubbing against whatever shrubs he could find that were crawling along their walls. Pushing forth the scent markers as best that he could even if it was just to draw the fact that someone lived here. Patrolling the borders was just a boring idea when there was nothing to be found but when he heard his Papa call to help with a hunt, Cosmin immediately directed himself there. Moving through the land of his family and picking up his pace as he did so in an effort to catch up to the Buffalo and lay a few hits in for the sake of being helpful.

karsa thinks the path worn into the perimeter of the hollows must be from his own feet burning a road into the ground from so many repeated patrols. the young savante is diligent in his duties, always keeping a watchful eye on the pride and what was going on outside of it. in fact, he's in the middle of refreshing some of their scent markers on the eastern edge of the pride lands when the call rings out for a hunt.

he loops around the edge of the pride to head to the hunt, breaking out into a nice jog that was sure to strengthen his muscles and lungs even more. though this portion of the patrol is done quicker, karsa is sure to make it just as thorough. at least until the man catches sight of his family chasing down a lone buffalo that must have surely wandered from its herd. he joins in the pursuit as well, going from a jog to a dead sprint to catch up to the animal and the pride. these hunts always prove to be a good work out, leaving karsa exhausted and sore more often than not.

Cosmin usually felt like he was working overtime in these hunts to make sure that he was a noticeable force driving the prey forward. Doing everything her could to move it in such a way that he might lean towards another lion rather than an open space where it might escape beyond their measure of catch. A buffalo was just as difficult as hippo, of course, and so he also had to make sure that he was being safe and playing it smart rather than running in their like the chaos-energy in his heart dared him to give. Instead, he played it safe and only moved in for a hit when he felt it was perfectly lining up.

Karsa and Cosmin joined their little group and she was thankful for the two brothers’ help; their combined efforts easily brought the buffalo to its fatal end. She huffed out a ‘thank you’ as she came to a stop and stepped back to wait patiently for the others to eat first. Only once they finished did she take a few bites for herself. It was much better than the pig that came into their home recently and she savored every bite. Sufficiently full, she began to portion out the remaining meat into chunks for transport back to the caches and began the work of hauling it through the winding tunnels.

it seems cosmin is getting rather good at hunting these days, as it is his brother who sweeps in to put the final figurative nail in the coffin for their buffalo trespasser. karsa is grinning widely as he approaches his brother, breath coming in quick pants as he aims to knock his own shoulder against @Cosmin's in affection. "keep it up and you'll be one of the best hunters in the pride, brother." though his words might sound teasing, there is nothing but shining pride there.

with all the exertion from the hunt, karsa would welcome a break in the action to recuperate before he returned to finish his half-done patrol of the borders. "you wanna take a walk with me?" he offers cosmin in a quiet murmur. it had been quite some time since the brothers had spent alone time together and karsa's heart aches at the sudden realization.

Whoa, he offers to Karsa with a look of shock, surprise and maybe even disgust at the idea that he might be among the best hunters. Like, yeah.. that was a great compliment but he did not want that kind of responsibility. He just showed up, that's it. That's asking too much, bro... he whispers quietly in an effort to address that he did not want that kind of a job put upon his shoulders. He was here for funsies, all day every day. Though as they did what they could to help the others make smaller pieces to take to the cache, he turned his head back @Karsa and nodded his head.
