Colsun now has so, so much more at stake than just himself. Isla is pregnant. Pregnant with his cubs. The fierceness that burst to life in his chest upon finding out had nearly sent him into a frenzy then and there, but he managed to get himself together long enough to march to the territory. He may have lost the Mire, but there were other ways he could protect his family, and a rank would be the first step. The lion jogs to a patch of dirt and releases a challenge before settling in, eager to see if anyone will bother to show.

Don't think we've properly met. Comes the deep vocals of the Lead Fighter. The call for a testing fight having been quick to catch his attention. He had been too slow for the last minor challenge. But this time he was ready. Asbjørn. He would introduce politely as he moved to take up a defensive stance before the other large male.

He would wait for the other to get into full preparation before launching himself forward. No need for much talking. This dude wanted a position within his aunt's pride. Asbjørn was not here to make any decisions regarding said position. Only to assess his moves.

Asbjørn would attempt to collide with Colsun head on. Claws out and seeking broad shoulders. Hard enough to hook but not tear.

The call catches her attention and interest. She knew that Colsun was more ambitious than she had realized him to be, and hearing for him challenge for a rank within the pride made a smile spread across her lips. She moves a little slower than usual, her belly growing more and more with each passing day, silently thanking Maua that her pregnancy was not as unbearable as it had been on Morrigan - at least not yet.

She makes it to where Colsun had summoned, watching as Asbjørn acknowledges the challenge by answering. The Queen stays on the sidelines, slowly reclining back on her haunches so that she was now sitting, getting as relaxed as she could while she waits to watch the fight unfold.

Another day, another challenge. While Matti didn't have a desire to fight, he was glad that many in the pride were willing to step up and prove their worth and he assumed @Isla ♔ felt the same. She must be proud of those she'd welcomed under her leadership and the strength they continued to show. As he approached the gathered trio, Asbjørn was already making the first move against Colsun.

Colsun; he was quite the unknown to Matti. He'd introduced himself once and seen him around, but besides his constant presence in the pride, he didn't know anything about the man and his curiosity was tugging at him. He strode around to lay down beside his queen, wondering if she would be willing to humor him.

"Madam Isla, 'ow you be?"

To his surprise, someone actually shows up. Colsun’s tufted ears draw forward as the man approaches him, equal in size and almost just as handsome. He would have said he was more handsome, but the man needed some confidence going into a battle. Dismissing himself so quickly by comparing looks would be a terrible start, so the Valentine reassured himself several times that he was far more handsome. Isla had chosen him, after all. Sort of. Chosen him to fuck once, at least, and that was more than he could say about Asbjørn.

It probably wouldn’t have boosted his confidence as much if he’d known they were related and therefore not even remotely interested in one another.

“Colsun,” he says with a nod and half a smile, pleased to finally spar with someone that had manners. See? Everyone could go to war and abuse each other in morbid fashion and still be friends. It wasn’t that hard.

The shadow knight settles into position and allows his opponent the first move. Asbjørn charges, making direct impact with Colsun’s chest. Always the chest. He doesn’t remember the last time he hasn’t had a bruise there, but now there will be a whole new splattering to join the old. He hisses as claws hook into his shoulders, but the touch is almost.. friendly. Were they new best friends? He wasn’t trying to murder him over a spar and that was fucking new.

Blood spills from the fresh wounds as Colsun retaliates, attempting to swing his teeth upwards and grab hold of the other’s lower jaw while simultaneously attempting to swing his right paw underneath the man’s shoulder area and give him a good ole smack-smack.

If Asbjørn had been aware of what was going on in Colsun's mind then they could probably have a good laugh over it. But alas, the warrior is no mind reader. So he is left in the dark.

A blossom of familiar pain throbs in his shoulder after colliding into the other's chest. A hiss from his opponent let him know that his claws had also struck home. Teeth come at his lower face, Asbjørn turning his head slightly. Preferring to take the hit to his cheek rather than beneath his head. Such a spot would leave Colsun too close to his throat.

Through the swatting coming from the lion's right paw, Asbjørn seeks to push his head forward. His own teeth looking to bite wherever he could reach; given half his face was being held onto. At the same time, back legs push and shift in the sand. The massive male attempting to shove Colsun backwards. Perhaps even to the side.

Nervous as he was to get into the middle of an event of the pride, he sucked it up as he always did and marched towards @Isla ♔ and @Matthieu. Taking a seat wherever there was one free and letting both of them have a toothy grin. Good day, he excitedly spoke, choosing to overcome his lightning nerves in lieu of just being his happy, goofy and social self that wasn't so afraid of being disliked by the masses. Both of the lions that were fighting seemed to be very good at what they did and he watched carefully. Taking in their defensive positions and each attack that they brought, hoping he might learn a little something in the process while also building his own social presence resume.

She was running behind having been walking the borders on the other side of the lagoon. She had decided to finish her patrol and arrived late to the challenge. As she arrived she dipped her head to everyone and took a seat next to @Güelle. "Hello, sorry everyone I am a bit late." She said to everyone that was there. "Was out patrolling the other side of the lagoon." She added. It was the truth but could also be seen as her giving an excuse as well. Oh well. For now she just turned her gaze to watch the battle going on.

It was over before it even began. It had started off well enough but now Asbjørn stood towered over @Colsun. His dark head tilts, the look of confusion sliding away into an apologetic smile. The warrior grabs the other to help haul him back to his feet.

When Asbjørn turns, there are a few more faces than before. He tries hard not to wince from any second hand embarrassment and instead sets his eyes on his aunt. He's got a good hit. The Varg compliments. But @Isla ♔ had seen what had gone down with her own eyes. And again, it wasn't Asbjørn's call on whether or not ranks were handed out.
