Ciara had been on her own things, working on her studies and making sure her stores were clean and on good state for whenever any of her pride mates needed attention. Though not all were of her liking. Including her mean brother and his followers, after all they did to her and her family for her they could rot for all she cared.

After drying up her herbs a few she rested a bit until the night came were it was cooler. Summer was on its peak and the heat could be deadly so at night it was better for her to work into.

As she walked out to get some water she heard noises and followed it narrowing her eyes. Wondering what it could be.

the prints of the zebra disappeared quickly over the sandy dunes of andal. its path had been jagged and zigzagging as it avoided the worst of the sandy slopes, but brighid was diligent in her tracking. it had made a sore mistake wandering so closely into their pridelands. as she follows the tracks, studying the prey's path, she is led to none other than the valued water source that was their home's namesake. of course.

there within the brush of the oasis, brighid notices @Ciara, no doubt drawn by the presence of the zebra. she approaches quietly, stalking low to the ground as she digs her claws into the ground. "we will not fail," she says, sternly, catching the tang of herbs on the woman's pelt - perhaps hunting was not her calling, but if she wanted to eat then she must contribute. brighid chuffs out quietly, enough for the zebra's ears to twitch, but not alarming enough for it to bolt.

with that, brighid bursts from the underbrush to startle the zebra, sending it in the direction of ciara and hopefully, reinforcements.

two members were already here, @Brighid ♔ and @Ciara. the fragrance of prey looms before them, and harou is quick to meet their hunting party, releasing a singular cuff as jaws part with salivating ease. his muscular physique moves with predatory finesse, the lines of sinew roping forward to cut a hard path along the sandy terrain. already he can taste the scent of prey upon the wind, as he would seek to close the distance between him and his fellow pridemates, gathering together with feral grace. preparing himself to launch an attack, he would crouch low to the ground, creeping forth with serpentine fluidity as he stalks and surges forward. it was time for a feast, time to fill the night with the taste of blood and sound of screams.

the promise of blood would saturate his mind, dripping eagerly as it'd echo with visceral yearning. slipping forward like the ghoulish wraith he was, arawn would loom forth, brushing past his sire and dam in one fluid motion. he is quiet as he stalks the night, rugged muscles bristling with anticipation, listening to the violent croon of @Brighid ♔'s words. another is there, @Ciara, and arawn would greet her with a quiet stare. in the wake of father's victory, it only drove arawn to further ambition, as he releases a reverberating growl and presses against the darkness, waiting to launch his attack.

wild, feral stare —
her winter lips as cold as stone

Again, she is there – a little late, but still there. The hunting party had already begun to descend upon their chosen prey, but since when did that mean that Arduinna could not be privy to some of the fun herself? It was without pause that she descended upon them, hungry churning within her gullet as the wraith slipped amongst the fray, frenzied and prepared to do whatever it took to secure another meal, and another success, for the andalians.

As @Brighid ♔ burst forward to startle the beast, Arduinna, too, revealed herself from her paused position, claws unsheathed and her lips curled as she sought to swallow the remaining distance between herself and the zebra. It was only when she was close enough that the woman would look to leap forward, muscles tight and her eyes narrowed as her forelimbs outstretched, attempting to collide with their prey’s hind and sink her claws into the tender flesh of its hips.

the trail of prints led true. there in the underbrush of the desert's precious resource is the zebra. when brighid reveals herself, the prey animal reacts from pure instinct. its alone but they are now many and it spells disaster for their latest addition to the cache. she swats at its ankles as it stumbles across the sand and right to the waiting jaws of @Ciara and her family. brighid expects them to make light work of it as @Arduinna jumps at the beasts hindquarters and tears into its hips. brighid approaches and seeks to slash her claws at its tender belly, trying to grab and force the zebra down so that the larger @Harou and @Arawn can assist in downing and ending its misery.

Ciara nodded to the woman who came to help her as a Zebra jumps into her vision range, she waited for @Brighid ♔'s further instructions. Thankfully, more joined the hunt giving her a sensation of companionship, Shaking it off, she wanted to focus ont he task ahead, After a not-too-long time, as the zebra runs towards her, she jumps forward, aiming to bite into the zebra's neck or anywhere to end the zebra's life and bring valuable food to their pride.

After it was done, she bowed her head to those around, thankful with their aid. "Thank you," She said as she tried to get her breath back. Without further action the medic walked away.

they would succeed, blood staining the earthen ground - crimson residue painted across smooth sand.  the moonlight only glows above them, creating a silver overcast and teneberous shadows below their feet. arawn flashes his fangs in the dark, grinning eeriely, a satisfied rumble escaping his obsidian lips.  they would hunt night after night, success after success, and still, it would never be enough.  pressing into the tangled fray, he would seek to tear a strip of meat and then proceed to withdraw from their gathering.  he would take his prize and feast somewhere in silence, somewhere where it is quiet and isolated.

blood soils the oasis and nurtures the fruits of the oasis. the zebra is felled without much difficulty and brighid contently purrs her gratitude to those that have joined in the hunt. she nods her appreciation to ciara before seeking to brush her head along the jaws of arduinna and arawn before they take their leave and harou next. its these little affections after every hunt she notices that makes the effort all the more worth it and the hunt more thrilling. as they take their share to fill their bellies, brighid waits to remove the corpse and store what is left within the cache. her family, forever, and those that have aligned with them - she would always tend.

More blood, more blood, more blood ; they tore and fought and pushed forward, surging together like the powerhouse they were when united as one. Arduinna struggled for a moment to keep her hold on the zebra, tender flesh slicing between her teeth as she bustled by the prey’s frantic motions – until finally, finally, success branded their breasts anew and the thing crumbled towards the earth. Saliva oozed as she spit the coating of blood from her tongue, muscles aching dully as she titled her ears towards the thankful words of their pridemate. And though Arduinna only hummed idly in response, her satisfaction was evidently splayed across the corners of her complexion, bright eyes flashing, before she began attempting to move the carcass in the direction of their cache. exit.
