It was time to come together for another hunt. The pride was well cared for, but the cache could always use more and he hadn't been able to participate in many hunts as of late. Due to his leg. Now? Catching the scent of something, Alexander begins to stalk it - quiet in his steps and his stride. A low chuff is sent out to his pride members; careful not to alert their prospective prey.

From the second that she heard Alexander call the pride as he had found something worth hunting, Juliette had made quick work to halt her own plans and move towards him. Casually strolling through the tunnels at a brisk pace until she found him as well as locked eyes to the target. A big had found their tunnels, it seemed, and while she could not see, hear nor smell any of the other Hollow lions present and accounted for she was unbelievably confident that should no one show that they could manage this themselves. Both of them were apt and capable, she imagined.

It was reassuring to hear Alexander's call for hunters. It was such a familiar voice and sounding stronger as well; he had to be nearly fully recovered. Thella couldn’t see him—and was that Juliette she smelled?—but she could hear their efforts echoing off the walls as well as… the pig's? Yes, definitely a pig. It was just as smelly as it was loud, she noted with a scrunch of her nose. She doubted it would give them too much trouble, knowing full well they didn’t even need her help, but she figured it wouldn’t hurt just in case.

She wound her way quickly through the tunnels, intent on blocking the pig’s path and forcing it to turn back into her leaders' waiting jaws.

Grigore had heard in his youth that Savante warriors once hunted in packs or great processions, crashing their way through their empire without fear of what lurked in the shadows. He had clung to those stories as a boy, as if those ancient hunters would find him and lift him out of the nightmare he had been left in.

They never did come for him. After a while, he began to believe that the stories he had been told were nothing more than white lies made to get him to sleep through the night.

But now, as he crouched among the semi-circle his pride-mates had made around their prey, Grigore could see the ancient hunters he had waited for in each of their stances. In the way the jostled together, the way they flanked their king. Grigore almost cracked a smile at the thought as he surged forward, marking his own entry in the royal procession.

Cosmin was most certainly late into the running but as soon as he dove into the hunt, he was all-in as though he had been there from the start. Moving in as quickly as he could and taking a few snapping bites at the legs of their prey. Making a deep noise in his throat as he pivoted to his right and then back, trying to get to the other side of their prey and going for a different leg. Doing everything he could to make an appealing hit (at least one) for the pride so that he could show that he might've been late but he could still pack a punch!

Juliette waited a few extra moments after Cosmin had wounded where he could and wondered if others were holding their punches too in lieu of someone else wanting to participate. It seemed like ages that she had to wait but really less than a minute before deciding they needed to end this before it got away entirely. Juliette surged forward and made due with what they were given, lunging towards their beast and extending her claws outwards to its flank and attempting to get the last shot in so that they could subdue the beast and be rewarded now and in the near future.

Thella smiled as they were joined by a couple more, for one such hunter was none other than her—as decided by her, whether he felt the same or not—best friend. The other, she had never met. He must be new. There weren’t many faces of the pride she didn’t at least recognize, even if they had not spoken; various meetings and hunts like these allowed her that. So, it was always exciting to see a new face. She gave them both a quick greeting before finishing their task.

As it met its end, she sat off to the side and waited patiently for others to finish; she wasn’t much on pig—and this one was extra smelly and off-putting—but would gladly help take it back to the caches in exchange for something else already stored there.

The pig didn't have much of a chance. In truth, even with their small party - despite it's size, they were able to take it down with the team work they'd come to perfect over time. Alexander was proud of them all, and soon enough - with a bit of muscle work, the beast was downed and they were able to enjoy themselves immensely. Anything left over, the Savante would cut into smaller pieces to drag back home to the cache. While they were likely not lacking for anything right now, it was always smart to have extra just in case.

With a few of the others having taken their leave, it left Juliette to take a few bites of her own portion. Not usually one to partake in feasting in front of others after a hunt but today was different and she was hungrier than usual. Politely taking a few bites before lifting what she could of their downed prey and escorting it to one of their many caches. She doubted anyone cared to which one it went to so long as it wasn't overflowing or had already gone bad. Juliette was at least smart enough to know to not store fresh food with stuff that wasn't good anymore. exit juliette

The lot of lions that had gathered had surely done what they came to do and their prey went down with ease. Cosmin felt his heart and lungs working to settle his adrenaline down and while it still pumped, he made to swoop forward and take a large bite out of it. A rumble deep in his throat emerged as he swallowed, addressing how thankful he was for the victory and the nice little meal. Only when the others began to fan out did Cosmin move to attempt to help. He didn't think he would be of much help but truth was, he'd be better at being the brawn to carry it than the speed to help take it down usually. exit cosmin
