Ah, he loved lounging about on a bright day. Basking may even be his favorite past time. As such, the beast lay stretched out in front of the pond. There was something unmistakably pink beneath his massive paws.

It squirmed, desperately attempting to escape the heavy weight that was slowly crushing it. Vincent seemed unphased, lazily watching the clouds pass by, near dozing off, even.

This seemed to be a meal, but the tiger was in no hurry to end the creatures suffering. Instead, he allowed the terror, the anticipation, the pain - he wanted it to build up until the flamingo choked on it.

It was then that Vincent enjoyed snuffing out the light.

For a brief, sweet moment, Silas was enjoying his respite from the day in his little hide-y hole underneath the big tree by the pond—until it was so rudely interrupted by the deranged crescendo of those awful flamingos. Something was bothering them, and thus him. When they finally quieted down to their normal level of squawking, he thought he might investigate. He rolled to all fours and crept from out of the bushes to peak over the large roots of the tree.

Well, I'll be. What do we have here?

A large beast was nearby on the shore of the pond, a freshly-killed flamingo under his paws. He was feline in nature—sharp claws and all—but not one Silas was familiar with. He lifted his nose to the air to get a sniff before hopping out and starting his trot over to get a better look.

"Ain't you a mighty, big fella?" he shouted out. "Not sure that bird is gonna be anythin' but a snack that makes ya wish for more."

The bird beneath his grasp was still very much alive. Gasping for air, still panicking and making low calls for it's brethren's help. None came. There was no creature ignorant enough, nor arrogant enough to approach him. That was...until he'd come to these lands. Full of lions. Where ego overrode instinct.

Perhaps they didn't have instincts anymore because they were simply too dumb? A low, drawn out sigh escapes the tiger as his slitted silver eyes cast up to his company. "The bird isn't for eating." He mutters, lazily lounging still - too comfortable to position himself upright just yet. "It's for killing." Vincent muses, searching the boy's face for his reaction.

Damn. The bird was not dead as Silas had assumed; he hadn't heard its own struggling calls over those of the rest gathered at the pond until he neared and could see movement between the beast's—now more notably massive—paws. The cat had looked big from far off, there was no doubt, but it become much more obvious just how big he actually was closer up. Obvious enough to give pause.

He slowed to a stop, keeping considerable space between them as he listened to his response. It's for killing. "Killin'? Why kill it if ya ain't gonna eat it too? You play with all your food—or not food in this case, I guess—for fun?" Why expend the energy to catch a meal if you aren't going to gain the benefits from it. He lifted a brow in bewilderment. "Seems pretty stupid, if you ask me."

Guess not all big cats were intelligent.

As the male spoke, Vincent found himself growing bored. Of course he played with his food. Why the hell not? A yawn escapes his jaws, but as they close, those gleaming teeth suddenly enclose around the lengthy neck of the pink bird struggling under his weight.

Blood trickles slightly to the ground before an audible crunch and crack is heard as the tiger simultaneously breaks and crushes the creatures bones. There's a bit more twitching to be had, and the process seemed to have been slow, so the bird's death wasn't a quick one. With a sigh, he lets it drop before inhaling deeply - willing his patience to return before finally speaking,

"Coming from you, boy, that's quite rich. What do you do for fun? Lick your own balls?" He rumbles, shaking his head some to rid himself of any dirt or annoying, pestering flies. Silver eyes turn to land and focus on the other finally, tongue sliding along gilded lips to clean his face.

Silas watched as the bird's life did finally come to an end by the fangs of the cat and, as expected, its limp body was released to fall to the ground by its clearly indifferent executioner. An executioner whose focus how now turned to the young rogue.

"You act as if you know me, yet I'm pretty sure we've already established, you're pretty stupid," he retorted, repeating his earlier sentiment. "But who am I to judge the fool?" He remained in place, unwilling to either move closer or turn his back to the stranger as he answered, "Like to get around, but I'm particularly fond of a good nap, one of which you so rudely interrupted with your so-called fun." He was being quite testy and we wondered how far he could take it.

A boisterous laugh escaped him as the boy began speaking. "No, didn't say I knew a bloody thing about you." Outside of the obvious. Silas seemed to have missed the actual insult Vincent had been throwing his way. Which only assisted in his opinion that lions were ignorant beyond repair.

The next words to that fall from the boys' lips slip in one ear and out the other. He hadn't been genuinely asking what he liked to do for fun. Why had he actually explained? The only thing that stuck was the rudely interrupted, to which Vincent snaps in annoyance. "I don't believe I asked you to approach me." He drawls, silver eyes narrowing on the boy.

Tongue licks at the blood on his muzzle before he tossed the dead flamingo aside and moved to stand up fully, his shoulders rolling smoothly back as his head rose. "Since you interrupted my fun, it's time for you to become my new chew toy." He hums before abruptly attempting to snap his jaws toward the other, a massive paw raising and trying to reach up and slash across Silas' chest.

Looks like Vincent didn't enjoy the testiness.

"Of course you didn't, but you had to go and cause a ruckus catchin' one of these damn birds and you got em all riled up. They're annoyin' enough as it is. And for what? You didn't even eat it!" he accused, pointing at the discarded carcass.

...my new chew toy. He probably should've known better, given the evidence of the cat's tendencies and nonchalant attitude towards killing without cause—well, without Silas's type of cause—so it really shouldn't have been a surprise when sharp fangs came in quick succession with a paw. And yet, it was, and he was wholly unprepared. With only a split second to move, the bite missed; the paw did not.

Mighta gone a bit too far this time. He gritted his teeth at the pain before making his own play. He might be severely outmatched by the brute's size and strength but you would have to catch Silas dead before he backed down from a fight. Which, come to think of it, could be his outcome at the end of this. He threw his left paw up at an attempt for the cat's face, claws extended, while dipping his right shoulder to try and barrel into Vincent's chest.

Vincent was losing his patience. Even more than he already had. Did this dumbass ever shut up? "Whine more." He snaps, frustrated that his bite had somehow completely missed his opponent. Then suddenly claws were being thrown at his face.

Silver eyes narrow, his head jerking back instinctually, but he's a bit too slow. The claws clip along the right side of his muzzle. Shortly after, Vincent feels a weight barrel into his chest. Had Silas been any larger, it might've been a worse outcome.

As Vincent had such a difference in weight to the male, the tiger was able to hold his ground for the most part. There would most definitely be bruising, however, but not something he would feel until tomorrow more than likely. Having a shoulder ram into your chest was not pleasant, no matter who you were.

Retaliation came quickly and angrily. With Silas now so close, Vincent's jaws would attempt to grab onto the right side of the boy's neck/scruff. Hoping that the jab had left an opening of some kind for him to get a grip. To possibly distract him from this endeavor, the tiger's left paw, claws extended, would raise and attempt to rake down Silas' right limb in whatever way he could manage.

He regretted his decision more and more with each passing minute... second, truthfully, as that's how slow time seemed to be passing. But, he was also quite annoyed with the cat's attitude and, of course, couldn't keep his words to himself, despite how much better it would be for him. "This how ya treat all yer play things? No wonder yer out here alone."

There wasn't really much movement as he slammed into the tiger; it was in fact, quite the opposite, with him coming to a hearty stop and fangs clamping down quickly onto the loose skin of his neck, threatening to tear through. Slightly immobilized so as not to do his opponent's work for him, Silas thrust his paws at the beefy neck in his own attempt at damage to the muscle there, blinded to the pain brought to his right arm in his rising panic.
