Matti was mid-sentence, about to ask more of Heloise, when his gathered pridemates quieted for Isla to begin and, he too, spoke no further; it was not good news that she brought. He'd been unaware of the strife with one of the other prides and the suffering it had already caused and could continue to bring them in the future. This was unacceptable. As she finished, he immediately leapt to his paws and shouted out over the heads of those in front of him, "Dere is no doub' I will stan' wid you, Queen Isla! You 'ave my word!"

Family was everything and, even though those in his pride were not family by blood, they still meant much to him. A threat to their lives would not go unanswered. He sat back down, frustrated as she continued on with the meeting, surprisingly, addressing him first. "Wid pleasure, madam Isla! I be glad!" And he was; if danger truly were a possibility on the horizon, a high morale and comradery between them all was imperative.

As she began to address others around him, ensuring the needs of the pride were met with each new appointment, he was happy to see that another would be joining him. He looked over at Spiritus and gave him a nod.

The conclusion of the meeting came swiftly, but before he took his leave, he leaned over to Heloise and asked, "If don' mind, I would like to speak wid you." It was then that he headed off, away from the others, to wait for the lioness to join him.

Rhea is surprised at the large turnout. While she had smelt the various scents of others in the confines of Scilla Lagoon, to see so many foreign faces made her excited that hopefully in time she would be able to place a name to each one. An ear pricks forward as the crowd quiets down, @Isla ♔ beginning her speech regarding a recent war. Rhea’s eyes widen with surprise at the mention of this ‘Luther Rike’ imprisoning many and Morrigan helping to release them. She is glad of the news, but it is quickly replaced with horror. A paw flashes upwards to cover the soft lioness’s gaping jaws at the mention of Alaric being killed. To fight and maul one’s own father was an unspeakable act to her. She made a quick note to avoid this lion as best as she could.

Her uncomfortableness shifts when Isla’s meeting turns to a lighter note. She listens to the ranks given and her own features light up with delight when her name is called. She beams up at the gray sovereign and stands up to give her acceptance. “Yes, thank you so much Isla. I’ll make you proud.” Her gaze turns around the clearing trying to find the other two she would be working alongside with. It would be good to get acquantined with @Heloise and @Rheta as soon as possible. Hopefully after the meeting. She had a lot to learn and she wanted to do good after the high sovereign had saved her from being claimed in the passage.

Ratha was slightly disappointed to not hear her name within Isla's announcement, though she put it off as Isla wanting her to pick where she wanted to contribute to the pride, and that made sense to her.

Though as some lions thanked her and were about to leave, Ratha padded forward, within speaking range of @Isla ♔ so that she didn't have to raise her voice too much. "Would it be reasonable to ask for the Lead Scout position?" she asked her, wondering if Isla would provide. "If you would prefer I prove myself first, I'll take Scout for the meantime. Whichever you feel is fair for me." Ratha had no problem fighting for her rank, though if she could simply just ask for it, that'd take several steps out of the process.

It was usually so dull at such things (though really one should hope they were dull considering the alternative was usually declarations of war), so Heloise wasn't expecting much. So naturally she brightened at @Matthieu's approach, her ears perking up as his thickly accented words reached them. Wi, she replied with a grin. Yes. I would be askin' if ye were related to de Saucier, but ye not be lookin' like us. It be nice to know dere are others out there who sound de same. I hope dey found some wherever dey went.

More and more piled in as she spoke, and good heavens look at them all! She almost suspected the pride was as large as or perhaps larger than the Brook had ever been. So many she didn't know, too. Which really just meant all the more lions to startle with her sudden appearance as she wandered around the pride, because if one wasn't used to her and her skeletal appearance it was all too easy to be startled.

Oh hey look, speaking of declarations of war. She found herself more than a little irritated that it had been the Mire that had the war fought upon it, blood shed on ancestral land even if she had set it aside in recent years. That someone had been killed on it didn't sit right with her, though did it really count if he'd been resurrected?

She only had so long to contemplate it, however, as Isla continued and offered ranks. Ooh, look at ye, she commented softly as the male beside her was offered the rank of storyteller. He would do well with it, she presumed. And then she too was offered a rank, not one she was used to holding but one that she would nonetheless.

Aye, that suits me well, she agreed. She hardly wanted to be lead medic, considering most of her focus was on spiritual matters, but she did know a fair amount about healing as well. Though she'd never forgive herself for the one time her medicinal skills had failed her, even if said failing had been inevitable.

Speaking of Matthieu, he requested to speak with her, and she was more than happy to rise and follow him out of the meeting, as her presence was no longer needed.

Wow, there were a lot of lions within the pride, perhaps more than she'd ever seen at the Brook, and... yeah she still didn't know anyone. Well, okay, she knew of the skeletal lioness fro the Brook, because she'd tried to help Cordi, and obviously she knew Isla and Cassandra, but uh, that was it. Well, that just meant she had a whole bunch of new friends to make!

First though, she had a meeting to listen to. The mention of a war on the Mire was concerning, especially since someone had died even if he hadn't stayed dead. Spiritus was still mulling it over as ranks were given out, and then was surprised when she heard her name mentioned. Oh? Storyteller? That sounded great! She'd get to learn a whole bunch of new stories! She nodded eagerly, already excited about the prospect. She couldn't wait to get started.

"A big rock," she emphasized. "Gonnaa dig it up and carry it!" a rock of size big enough to fit Whopper, let alone impress with the majesty of this uncarved granite throne, would be nearly impossible to move. This would obviously not stop her from trying. From there, the elder drooled with dreams of happy rocks, her ears pitching only intermittently at the speech. Mostly she paid attention at sharp turns of voice, or a mention of war or enemies. These did interest her more, but she didn't understand much except to note that the war and enemies weren't here now. "I'll fight the war with the enemies if they come," she gained attention enough to mutter. "He can be lead fighter, but I'm best WARRIOR." So his rank was safe. For now.

As they seemed mostly done, the remaining lions just doing talking instead of anything else interesting, Walpurgis wandered off. Maybe she would find a cool rock, or maybe she would forget.

She is pleased that there aren't any objections to the roles she had handed out to her pride members. It made the Queen feel as though she knew her members well enough to know where they would thrive, and that knowledge in itself reassured Isla that she was a good leader. Her attention shifts toward @Ratha once she begins to speak, staying silent while her niece asks for a specific rank within her pride. She takes a moment before replying, allowing for her thoughts to come into order before allowing words to flow from her mouth. "Be a scout for now. Show me that you deserve the role of Lead, ja?" A brow rises as the Queen watches Ratha for a few moments longer before taking her leave. If any others wished to find themselves a spot within the ranks she knew that they would find her.

Happy as ever that she could be one to blend into the crowd for the most parts, sans her sister Cassandra looking her way. Renly was not much for being in the limelight on purpose and certainly never strove to make a show of it. Instead she was able to focus on what Isla said of war and drama. Even though the though of either made her feel like she weighed ten times more than her own weight, Renly would fight however hard she could for the continuation of her family and its emboldened strengths.

Other than the war, ranks seemed to be handed out and she did what she could to look in the direction of those promoted to give them a faint nod of her own approval. If Isla saw it fit, then she saw it fit though her opinion hardly mattered as a lioness that was more like a fly on the wall. With most everyone having left and sectioned themselves off to make private conversations, Renly stood up, stretched and departed from the meetings grounds. exit renly
