It had been creeping upwards and outwards, a slow motion macabre wave if shadow. Seeping from the depths of his ineffable core, slipping between self imposed chains.

Each expertly crafted mental link of self-control and illusory calm unable to hold back the twisted and churning inner nature indefinitely - like time pure violent truth crawled, slow, steady, constant and inevitable upwards and outwards till the cracks began to subtlety show.

The warning signs were present. It was a pity most did not know where to look, and began to indicate waning patience with the mundane day to day and certain social situations.

Like usual the bubbling instability showed first in his eyes (a almost too intense sharpness that held gazes perhaps a few seconds too long),

lips (The smooth curve of the slight smile becoming more pronounced at the edges, sharp and anticipatory),

and toes which curled inwards (claws often curling into substrate as if to anchor himself to the earth and prevent any sudden forward motion, or in memory of sinking into softer matter).

He could not - deal with this internal restraint for much longer. It was going to emerge one way or another. So best it happen in a place where any who answered were literally asking for violence and blood - and not unleased by accident on a pride member having a bad day.

But. Still. Would one who showed really...be ready and up to the task of sating a restless Hunter? Would he have to choke back the violence once more and play nicely as High Sovereign Retnuh (Reti).

Oh. Let it be someone who could handle Hunter. please .

He stood silently, in a battle ready position in a open stretch of ground, surrounded by hard packed blood stained earth. A faint grin on slightly parted dark lips. Let fate bring him a worthy playmate ideally one who would not hold any violence back in return. Reti would not call for one - he would wait to see what soul was delivered for the game. No more... No more chains (today).

Laissez-nous saigner, let us bleed, she thought fervently, her very being consumed by the primal urge to feed. In that moment, there was no room for guilt or remorse. Only the raw, unbridled passion of the hunt, driving her forward into the heart of darkness. Her fangs gleamed in the dim light, her claws extended and ready to strike. The thrill of the chase, the rush of adrenaline, it was all-consuming. She would not stop until she had tasted the warm, coppery essence of her victim's blood on her tongue.

In a breathtaking display of agility and speed, she danced gracefully around the lion, her movements calculated and precise as she positioned herself for the ultimate strike. Without a moment of hesitation, she launched herself at his unprotected rear, her entire being consumed by an insatiable thirst for victory.

With a ferocity unmatched by any other, she attempted to sink her razor-sharp claws deep into his hindquarters, her every muscle tensed with the primal urge to dominate her opponent and emerge victorious. The burning desire to make him bleed fueled her every movement, as she unleashed her raw power and unrelenting determination upon the mighty lion, leaving no room for fear or doubt in her relentless pursuit of triumph.

Oh she had heard his call and Aphrodite was keen to learn. She wanted to know what he could do, learn from him but she had been late. Instead of fighting him like she would have liked to do, it seemed that the lovely Miaran beat her to it. So instead of joining the fun, Aphrodite would find a rock big enough for her fat ass to lounge upon and see what she could learn by observing. Her amethyst jewels watching her mother - and grandmother's - mentor fight. To learn what she could without him verbally telling her. Plus she did enjoy watching Miaran fight now that it wasn't herself.

Reti was frequently an opponent, but no victim.

Even in his darker state Reti remained a master of his warcraft. Everything from his set defenses and battle ready position (sneak attacks being common in combat to his chosen positioning in the pit (open ground around him creating, a 'buffer' against sneaky back attacks) had been deliberately chosen and put into practice.

Ears pressed into Reti's mane caught the sound of someone dancing, maneuvering to get behind him. Ahhh. There you are.

The smile on his parted jaws widened slightly as Reti aimed to pivot to face the approach head on, attempting to swing his hind quarters around to his left stepping with powerful back legs while employing his front right leg as a stationary point . Reti's claws are extended gripping the earth for traction ... and in anticipation.

Muscular swirled limbs are bent slightly to better absorb impact as his powerful, large jaws attempted to sink their noteworthy length into the pocket of flesh located between the left side of her neck and left shoulder.

Her claws fail to strike his hind quarters due to the shift in position, however they did score lines down his front upper left leg leaving lines that would start to weep crimson coloring black fur a darker shade in and shifting his bronze fur swirls affected a rich copper hue.

The rush of adrenaline, sting of pain, and scent of blood was positively invigorating sending his nerves tingling.

If the fallen deity's jaws were not already preoccupied he would have laughed. Oh, how he missed this! @Aphrodite ♔ 's scent was distantly registered, a thought
to be addressed after this round of playtime.

The viper's strike missed its mark, his talons tearing into her flesh with a searing pain that set her ablaze. The sight of her own blood dripping, like scarlet ribbons on her fur, only fueled her fury. The metallic scent filled her senses, igniting a primal desire to taste the very essence of her foe. Her hind legs trembled under the weight of the battle, her claws digging deep into the blood-soaked earth in a desperate attempt to stand firm. The pain was a symphony of agony that threatened to consume her, yet she refused to yield. Her wounds may bleed, but her spirit remained unbroken, fueled by an unrelenting thirst for vengeance.

If he sought to taste her lifeblood, then she would eagerly drink from the cup of his own. In this primal dance of dominance, there was no room for weakness, only raw passion and unbridled rage. And as the battlefield echoed with their savage cries, she knew that only one would emerge victorious - and she was determined that it would be her.

If there were any true gods the fallen Deity believed in he may have sung their praise in pleasure as the warm vibrant crimson blossomed in his mouth, spilling drops like rose petals over his tongue. The smell divine and filling his nose the sent bringing a heady rush. It had been far too long. And there was almost nothing in life that could match the joy of that first burst of flavor in battle.

As he felt his bite strike Reti would attempt to take a small step forward attempting to bite down and gain a grip on a mouth full of fur and flesh, trying to gain a hold on the flesh previously scored.

Her claws drew panful lines further down his left foreleg, descending from shoulder to mid leg, the scent of his own vital wine joining with her to create the unique perfume of this particular battle. Oh it stung. Oh how it rejuvenated him. Pain tied to life, life tied to violence, violence bound to pleasure, and pleasure leading to death.

He aimed to try and lower his hind quarters slightly to secure his center of balance and attempted to push forward, attempting to use his greater size and weight to push and try to force her backwards.

As he moved to try and step forward he would attempt to slash his right front claws downwards, attempting to lash his claws down the lower front portion of her left front leg.

A rumbling, bubbling laugh tumbled up from his chest into his throat. Glee gleaming in narrowed eyes, tail whipping slightly behind him in glee. Flattened ears catching the sounds of combat as well as his own primal cascading mirth.

IC: One was never more alive then when moments from death.

And for him at least, there was no greater thrill than tracing that sharp edge between killer and killed. Now this particular battle would not be pressed to that extreme. This fight ... was a game. His favorite. This, despite its brutality, was the swirled lion at play.

How could one tell the difference?

His choice of targets up to that point. The pocket of flesh between shoulder and neck - and not the windpipe, spine or arteries. The front of a limb, and not the tendons that kept a body moving like a puppet's vital strings.

Indeed, the devil was playing. His true idea of fun was just - extremely primal and brutal. Reserved only for those who could handle such things, handle
and return the strikes. If he merely wished to tear into flesh and not be challenged that Reti would go on a hunt (be it lion or common prey), if
he wanted a good game then he needed a worthy challenge.

It seemed this pale lioness was up to the task. He could not be more pleased. 'Win' or 'Loose' the fire in him would be mollified - for a span of time at least.

She fell and Reti aimed to let go of any flesh captured by his jaws. Reti attempted to take a large side step with his hind legs, attempting to swing the softer flesh of his stomach and lions away from the lashing claws, one set of slashing hooks sliced into the side of his lower as he moved, two long bloody lines carved from the undermost portion of his lower right ribs and up his right side ribs.
Bruising registering where the limb first contacted as well.

Tucking his chin to cover his windpipe and narrowing his eyes more Reti attempted to snap his jaws at her right front leg trying to capture the wrist and attempting to bite down.

Narrowed eyes locked on her throat as he fought the instinct to take a shot at her windpipe.

He lifted his left front leg and attempted to drag front claws it down the underside of her bodice (body) lightly, aiming for mid ribcage and trying to draw down lightly to where the stomach began - it was an almost playful
motion, not attempting to unzip her underside as would be the case in a real battle - but trying to press just lightly enough to cut the skin, a hauntingly teasing reference to disembowelment - his idea of teasing non verbal banter. He wanted this to last forever, but alas living things and flesh had there limits and soon enough the world would intrude on the game once again. And perhaps that was for the best as he was dangerously close to loosing himself in the hunger.
