disappointment.

it was at the forefront of her mind after such a heartwarming reunion. while she should be recovering, biding her time mending her flesh and resting her torn paws, brighid could not shake the unfortunate disaster that had led to her downfall. her skin itched beneath too tight scabs. her muscles ached. and yet, the battle born woman found herself in the center of the dust laden arena, glaring down her nose at her surroundings. a growl rippled through her throat - an invitation to dance. claws unsheathed, she is poised and ready for an opponent, determined to release her frustration and to remind herself that she was no failure.

it's like blood to a vampire

(harou is lurking in the background, hidden)

he trails after brighid's fragrance, his curiosity unfurling with each predatory step. ever since she had arrived upon the scenes of Amaryllis, he had been unable to sleep. unable to rest. barely eating. constantly thinking of her. their meeting in the boneyard had proved to be an intense one, and he would relish every moment spent with his ice-queen. cautiously, he makes his way around the darkness, feeling the bite of winter settling hungrily against his flesh. he would keep his distance, observing her from a far, concealing his own scent in the smoky iciness of pine and wild woods. without sound, he observes her tantalising ivory form against the colloseum's rugged backdrop, curious to see who shall heed her call.

She would never back down from a fight and it showed with the wounds that did turn into scars. How they littered her body and gave her the look of chaos. She was destruction incarnated. Chaos ensued as she traveled into the pit and growled at the woman before her. Aphrodite didn't know much of the history of Harou, he hadn't shared much, and therefore had no clue who this woman was. Aphrodite didn't care either as she stalked forwards and without a second thought lunged at the woman in a sprint. Her claws dug into the ground as she would pull and push herself faster, before she would attempt to wrap her front legs around the woman and aim to have them rolling in a tumble of fur and claws.

a challenger appears and there is little fanfare. brighid's eyes are lit with a chaotic glee as they growl and she returns the greeting with a flirtatiously slow whip of her tail - 'come hither'! her body yearns for recuperation, but her claws sing for redemption. the other cat lunges towards her and brighid braces herself, claws gripping at the blood soiled earth. she doesn't move to avoid the vicious embrace, huffing with the force of the woman's arms wrapping about her. she's heavier than she looks with how nimbly she had dashed, and brighid goes down with the momentum but refuses to topple completely. instead, she drops her rump to a near sit to prevent from being snatched to the ground. she raises her left paw, lashing out in an attempt to carve into the soft skin along the pit of the dark furred woman's arm. brighid's fangs snake forward aiming to try and clamp down at the precious flesh along her jaw, dreadfully close to her throat. careful now.

Well, that didn't go as planned. Clearly. Ears flatten on top of her head as she felt the other woman just sit. It irritated her to no end as she would growl under her breath. Lips curling upwards, revealing her glistening fangs as she would feel claws dig into her flesh. Her arm began to bleed, sting and hurt but it didn't stop her as she dug her back claws deeper into the rocky ground and attempted to push her body even further against the white witch before her. Fangs click into her jawline as she would rumble another growl and began to twist her own head, opening her jaws regardless of if the fangs that had been there before cut deeper, and attempted to latch onto the other woman's ear.

a persistent one, wasn't she?

the blood that she's drawn from her opponent's arm can't distract her from feeling as if she's going to topple backward. her teeth seem to click against the other's jaw where she had intended and a satisfied growl rumbles in brighid's throat. she attempts to keep her teeth latched where they are as her ear is assaulted. the sensitively curled appendage absolutely sears as it is punctured and brighid can feel the beads of blood pooling and dripping down the side of her face. she snarls through clenched teeth, blinking against falling flecks of crimson.

still, as the ebon woman continues to shove her weight into her, brighid feels herself giving into the pressure. well, if that's how she wanted to play -

brighid allows herself to be pushed backward now, hoping to keep her teeth firmly gripped in place at the black cat's jaw if she isn't dislodged. she intends to pull the woman down on top of her as she tumbles to her back, and aims to forcefully shove her hindlegs upward into the other's underside and rake with her claws if she is successful.

Fangs still latched onto her jawline but her own cut into the other woman's ear. Curled that it was as Aphrodite still pushed, ears still flat as she felt @Brighid began to fall backwards. A rumble echoed from Aphrodite's throat as she shifted her back end to go to the side of Brighid so that she wasn't standing over the woman and letting her underbelly be exposed. With that movement, not even realizing it, Aphrodite felt claws cut into the side of her underbelly where it began to go up onto her side instead of up under her stomach. Her jaws would let go of the woman's curled ear tip and pull her head back, even if it hurt, before aiming to go and grab for her leg.

dust billows from beneath her as she lands. it mixes with the taste of blood on her tongue as she releases her grip on the black cat. even if they don't gouge into the black cat's delicate underbelly, her hind claws had still made landing. her ear is released and now that she is free, brighid instantly thinks to react defensively. she stays low but slips onto her side so that her belly is not exposed. the challenger's glinting teeth dive in for her leg and they puncture into the tender skin. she winces at the pain, upset at having not met her mark before and ended this quickly. putting her anger behind it, brighid lashes forward with a lethal claw-filled slap, attempting to knock the woman's muzzle and teeth out and away from her leg.

Aphrodite wouldn't remove herself from @Brighid's leg. Even when the claws came smacking down on her nose leaving perfect lacerations across that burgundy blaze. However, she could feel that this was over with and therfore ended up removing herself from their dance. Moving a few spaces away from the white witch, her amethyst jewels would glittered towards the woman. I'm always impressed when I'm bested by a gorgeous woman. She would muse, inking at the other before dipping her head. Aphrodite is the name, and you? She would ask. Aphrodite had told herself that she wouldn't just give her name out like it was for free but the woman before her had earned it.
