TW: mentions of death, depression, and reoccurring religious themes that may be disturbing to some

Many remember @Arachnae and her tales of endless woe, but to those who don't, settle in for a story of boundless love and great sorrow. And to those with interest, the story of new life gifted to her after years of loss, new life to which will be needing players.

As pretext, I highly recommend reading her history and perhaps even some of her former threads, as she has a long and complex background that will affect the upbringing of her incoming children. Especially those with her late wife, @Darcy, whom will be the other mother of the incoming cubs. There will also be a cub from Arachnae x a tigress that she and Darcy married while they were away, born the same date and considered part of the same litter. This will be an off-site litter, and the babies will come in at 3 months old; their birthdate will be decided once we pick players. The tigress will also be available for adoption, and will come in with Ara and the cubs.

Note about Arachnae
Ara has a skin condition known as Xeroderma pigmentosum, which causes her to be extremely sensitive to the sun. It causes her to burn far quicker than most, and over time will even damage her vision. Because of this, she has adapted to be nearly strictly nocturnal- though she will feel in dark places during daylight hours should she need. This is not a condition she will pass down to her children, but it would not be strange for them to adopt her nocturnal behavior. She also happens to believe this illness is a curse from the sun god Ra for being born a follower of his enemy, Apophis.

From the Ashes
Seemingly born to bear the suffering of sins not her own, Arachnae dealt with hardship from the very beginning. From betrayal and loneliness, to endless death following her wake, the witch had endured far too much. Countless partners, friends, her only brother and even two daughters had been taken from her a long the way, leaving the priestess to believe she had been cursed for her open belief and worship of gods aside from her patron. After the loss of her last partner, a woman named Svetka that she had cherished and nourished back form the verge of perishing, Arachnae found herself beyond broken, unable to carry the weight of all that was ripped from her grasp.

Burned and dehydrated from searching for her beloved in the daylight and forced to finally recognize her death, she encountered Darcy within the moonlit cavern; a woman she had met once before, sparks flickering between them like fireflies. They made an oath to one another that night, promising to be by one another's sides until their end, Darcy's older age keeping her from fearing the curse that loomed over Arachnae. In the end, their promise did not keep her safe, and after falling ill the mauve lioness vanished into thin air; leaving Ara to once again swirl into despair.

Truth be told, Darcy feared allowing her wife to watch her body wither into death, and chose to leave Amaryllis and pass peacefully, where Arachnae would never have to witness her corpse. After months, she failed to die, though the fragility in her body kept her from returning to Amaryllis, and instead after time the witch found her wife again on her own. Their reunion was joyful, the priestess once again pulling herself the the abyss to live the rest of the time she had left with her beloved. During this time, they met a tigress by the name of Dua that fell in love with them both; and they with her. As a result, Arachnae gave birth to a litter of five, and the younger tigress a litter of two.

Eventually, age and her weak body took Darcy from them, but her passing was peaceful and the loss less traumatizing for Arachnae. They decided then that they would return to Amaryllis, to home, and raise their family there.

° Morticia will be a lioness with a not-so-common path. Taking on a frowned-upon career as a mortician. Mkaing hosts funerals and disection her way of life, and this comes from a fascination with death and its many mysteries. Its unaboibale nature. And whereas others might find working with dead bodies disgusting or taboo, she will see it as normal as hunting or healing. So as she grows, she will seek to become that friend with the departed. And will offer funerals and other rites related to the afterlife. She will be calculative and always mind her own business, learning to avoid risks. She will hold her family in high regard, but will not let anyone tell her what her path should be or not. Ambition won't be something too strong in her character, she will find all she needs in what she has at the moment. Any sort of politics, power, or status will not be that important for her.

Notes: She will become a mortician, will held funerals and rituals. Will stick around her mothers but will try to do her own things.

Personality:

She is the daughter of two women and the blessings of divinity. A child of miraculous circumstances, she is nevertheless burdened with the conviction that she is unworthy. She will strive to honour her mother’s love and the gods in everything she does.

They have only known love, and reflect these qualities outwardly. On the inside, however, they are anxious and wear a mask to present a strong face to the world. They have tried to be the 'rock' to their small family, after the death of Darcy and the changes it brought to all their lives. In an attempt to make life easier for Arachnae and Dua, they became reliable and independent. They provide comfort to their siblings, and strive to maintain normalcy for their grieving mothers.

From Darcy, she learned to disguise her true intentions, presenting herself as submissive and docile. With carefully chosen words, a gesture and a dash of subterfuge, she is able to influence those around her without anyone feeling manipulated. When words and gesture fail to convey her message, she is prepared to fight. She does so in a courageous, yet elegant manner.

They find comfort in Arachnae's beliefs. With tooth and claw they uphold the ideals of Ma'at, or “truth, balance, and justice”. While not aggressive, this child will defend their loved ones from harm and seek to right the wrongs that they see in the world.

It was during her nocturnal wanderings with Arachnae that she first gazed upon the night sky and gradually became fascinated by the moon and the stars. Growing up, she will try to read the heavens for signs and portents, as well as seek out other forms of divination.

VIBES: Pacifist, shying away from violence but not afraid of the aftermath- nature is beautiful but not for the weak. Still, He finds the sunshine in the rainy days, the joy in the sadness, and the bright side of every circumstance that he can. Kind, gentlehearted, but not naive. The honest tongue, the bleeding heart, the loyal son. They find more comfort with the company of women than with men, by means of his birth- though beauty in the faces of other males intrigues him, and will eventually call to him.
