For a moment, it appears as if Kvare was able to draw Luther's attention, refocusing the fight to fairer standard (though, truly, whenever was there unfairness in affairs of war? Was it not eat or be eaten?). His assault only affords him a momentary element of surprise, but the Ecrosian King is well-equipped for such plights, and he reacts instinctively to the Caladan King. Kvare howls as he feels the clenching of teeth against his cheek. The fur and flesh is thin there, offering no more grip than a pinch, but a painful one at that. He feels his skin break beneath Luther's clench, feels the drive of his teeth against cheekbones and jaw.

Quickly does his own left paw raise, attempting to bear it down onto the right side of Luther's face. Though his claws unsheathed, he attempts to put the majority of his pressure on the ball of his paw, as if attempting to shove Luther's head away from his own and free himself of his grip.

Fangs parted, dripping with delicious, vibrant blood as their jaws parted. Verdant fire blazed in her eyes, head ringing when their skulls connected. But as claws tore through the skin of her chest, the scarred shieldmaiden reared back before slamming her full force into the older woman. Once more fangs and claws took aim. Claws sought to dig into Drena's neck from both sides, seeking to forcefully draw her closer while ivory fangs aimed for the woman's cheek with the goal to once again rip and tear at flesh. The presence of the men was vaguely registered, but disregarded for the time being. What mattered was the woman she was fighting and she saw, heard and felt nothing else.

The gnashing of teeth did nothing but fuel Drena's fire - her burning need to rip and tear flesh apart. The collision of her skull against Lagertha's is enough to cause an intense throbbing in her temples, a residual pounding that surely wouldn't just go away with the blink of an eye. Drena cannot help but laugh manicly as Lagertha's claws sink into both sides of her neck, pulling her in closer. If she wanted to get closer she should have just said so! Lagertha's teeth bite down on the sensitive skin along her left cheekbone and Drena moves to wrench her face from her grip. The skin is ripped open, the air stinging the wound immediately but she ignores the gushing of her own crimson. Drena's jaws would snap outward, attempting to grab hold of Lagertha's left ear and rip. Simultaneously her left forepaw would rise outward to attempt and slice down the center of Lagertha's chest once again. It wouldn't be long now until they discover who would be taking @Wylodine home, and if Drena couldn't have her she would definitely be a poor sport about it.

Teeth meet their mark, impaling the sparse flesh there as he feels the collission rattle his whole jawline, Kvare’s cheekbone causing mild bruising that will develop in the next few days following this fight. His teeth dig against the bone regardless, and Luther seeks to double down on it.

Unfortunately, things did not go Luther’s way, as it so often happened. He was met with claws and a heavy punch that rattled the brains in his skull, pulling him forcefully away from the foe’s face. He spat blood to the side, lips peeling to peer up at the older man in pure fury. Blood poured down pale chin, oozing from four lacerations across where Kvare’s claws had driven into his brow. His jaws snap onward once more, attempting to wrap around the opponent’s raised paw’s wrist.

He was no complete fool to think he could get away unscathed, but he'd not expected his opponent to be more clever than he first anticipated. Where he might have expected Luther to recoil in anger, the Ecrosian King instead honed his rage, and his firekissed opponent felt the sudden surge of blinding white pain as jaws clasped around his raised paw, digging into the thin and sensitive flesh between his toes, against his pads. Kvare would not be leaving without a limp, but he still may emerge the victor, and it were a possibility he would not let easily slip from his grasp.

In retaliation, Kvare attempted to surge his own head forward, his jaws parting, attempting to bite down upon one of Luther's ears. There was little he could do without sacrificing his balance, thus, he aimed to tug and pull at a more sensitive appendage, lest it be enough to pry the younger King from his paw. Kvare could feel the tug of exhaustion somewhere in the back of his mind, a cruel reminder that this battle would soon need to conclude—and their winner made clear.

She wrenches herself away from @Lagertha, spitting blood purposely at the woman's face when she does. Her gaze held unbridled fury within it, finally latching onto the man that had joined them alongside @Luther. They had lost, and Drena was furious. "So the sickly sweet Cove wins this round. But keep in mind, they don't actually want you. They protected you out of decency, not because they yearned to have you." She hisses, her tail lashing against her curvaceous flanks once and then twice. Her jaw ached with each word that she pushed out, and when her gaze lands upon her King it is seething. "When you grow bored within the Cove and you will grow bored there, stroll towards our borders instead." She directs to @Wylodine, her gaze lingering for a few moments longer. Oh how she would have longed to tug on those drooped ears, and now she would haunt her as she returned to the Mire empty handed. She storms from their gathering, not waiting a moment longer, lest she entertain fighting another round for the woman that would escape her clutches on this day.

The fight ends just as violently as it started, and Kvare feels spittles of blood fall from his lips, the throes of post-battle bliss hindered by the ache in his muscles, the cruel reminder that it were no easy fight. Lips part, saliva mixing with the ironed taste of sanguine as his tongue curled over the curve of his lips. He staggered beside @Lagertha, shoulders pulled back and head lowered defensively, lest they find themselves thrown into another battle.

He watches with cold indifference as @Drena roils in her ire, dissatisfied to have let a lioness slip through her fingers and perhaps, even more, disappoint herself in front of her King. He wondered, then, if such a transgression were punishable—if she were just as angry at her loss as she was at the consequences that would come after. And yet, Kvare had seen no proof of Luther's transgressions. He'd hardly even met the man. Had Morrigan not gotten her claws into her brother first, there might have been some semblance of shared kinsmanship, a delight in their greed and ambition at the expense of others.

As his companion leaves, Kvare's gaze falls upon @Luther, a crooked smile flitting to his bloodied lips. Take her, he says, bracing himself for his Noble's certain protest. I have no use for another mouth to feed. I merely wanted to whet my appetite on your prowess—and I am more than satisfied.

Luther's reputation had preceded him. He had been fortunate not to throw himself at the Mire expecting a coward or cutthroat. The Ecrosian King had that same fire as he did, that same masterful craft for destruction.

Consider it a gift, he continued, shaking his mane free of its tangles, watching as clumps or fur fell from where it had been clawed by Luther's very hand. And when you undoubtedly bring this woman into your bed or whatever else you do with your lionesses, know that it was because of me. For Kvare were nothing if not generous.

Finally, he turns to leave, brushing his nose into Lagertha's injured shoulder. He pauses, only briefly, to spare a glance toward the Mire's lord. I wonder what it would feel like—being a King of bone and ash.

There was a hint of satisfaction gleaming in emerald eyes when the other woman tore away from her in frustration. Even as the spittles of blood landed on her face, she didn't move from where she stood or even gave an indication that it bothered her. Instead she straightened her posture despite growing fatigue, glaring at @Drena's retreating backside. But she reused to even so much as acknowledge the other woman's words. No, she wouldn't give her that.

Briefly, her slender frame shifted to brush against @Kvare as a silent sign of gratitude for having joined. Sure, the warrior queen was no stranger to fighting multiple lions at once, but that didn't change that she was grateful for the support. His words though, they drew a faint growl from her. But instead of speaking to him, she addressed the Mire King, fixing him with a look of disdain. "Your lucky day, it seems." Lagertha snarled at @Luther as she prowled forward, just enough to stand directly in front of him. "Enjoy this little...gift....while you can," she whispered for only his ears before gracefully gliding away. For just a moment her gaze lingered on @Wylodine, a smile tugging on bloodied lips. "Choose your path wisely in these lands."

No more words were exchanged as her king's nose touched her shoulder. She drew in a sharp breath, but showed no outward sign of discomfort beyond that. Instead, she simply walked beside him as they left.
