By morning she had not yet awoke but her large dark frame was hanging half off the branch. Thick spotted hind legs both dangled almost entirely off and swayed with each subtle blustery gust of warm summer air that blew by. Her snoring was loud and rivaled the bird song.

Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

There was a bright moon last night, a large gibbous moon trending towards full. Yasha had gotten to see it a bit through the trees before drifting off into slumber, a deep sleep that took her until well after the sun rose up and burnt away the mist and dew to awake from. With the weather shifting rapidly back to summer Yasha was taking full advantage. She had spent the night outdoors draped across a tree branch under the canopy in the warm night air.
By morning she had not yet awoke but her large dark frame was hanging half off the branch. Thick spotted hind legs both dangled almost entirely off and swayed with each subtle blustery gust of warm summer air that blew by. Her snoring was loud and rivaled the bird song.

+5 Study the natural world She was far from home, on a mission to become more comfortable with the outside world before she was too set in her ways to do anything else. She hadn't realized that her fear of the unknown was so odd until she'd gone to the trade competitions and realized that everyone else was at ease with their surroundings. The jungle seemed like a good place to start, and she was actually having fun exploring and looking at all the flora and fauna around her. There was quite a lot of it, and all so vastly different from the Summit, which was predominantly snow and rock. Not that she minded that, but it all got a bit samey and she hadn't even realized. She did realize that there was someone sleeping nearby, though, because she could hear them snoring. It amused her, hearing that out here instead of emanating from her fathers' den, but since she didn't know who they were she was careful to try to quietly skirt around the tree she could see the dark shape lounging in. Too bad she was used to walking on snow, which muffled things, and so she promptly stepped on a branch which let out a loud crack as it broke under her paw. @Yasha |

The crack of a breaking branch surged through her brain like lightning. It rudely dragged her out of the deep sleep without remorse or kindness while survival instinct kicked on. Her eyes blazed open, pupils wide, and Yasha looked downward quickly to try and ID what was moving around below her.
Unfortunately she twists strange, too fast, and the monument carries her body half over the branch. She manages to grab back on just in time before her hind legs swing entirely off. But now she's left bear hugging the branch, bark flakes falling off down to the ground, with her body hanging down. Like a worm the giant cat wriggles and squirms.

Ah God, fuck me...The curse comes out loudly.
You didn't see that! She shouts then to the stranger who made the noise that woke her.

((I'M SO SORRY)) Sariel flinched as the branch snapped and the dark shape immediately moved in a blur of fur. Aah! she yelped as the other almost came plummeting down, both startled by her yell and alarmed that she might fall and get hurt. Oh, oh no, I'm so sorry! I can... she looked around wildly, looking for something that might help her recover her balance, but there really wasn't anything, and she was too far up there for Sariel to think that trying to push her in some way was a viable option. For lack of any better options, Sariel carefully positioned herself under the other so that if she did fall, then hopefully she would fall on her and therefore have a cushioned landing. Really it would probably just result in some bruises for both of them, but hey, she was trying. It was her fault anyway. @Yasha |
