July Y13
Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

There was nothing, and Hadriana wasn’t terribly disappointed; she partially believed the log she checked was not meant to hold anything. It was too tiny. So the lioness continued onward through the tunnel, her steps light against the stone, her spirit bright but her posture was guarded. She wandered until she happened upon another log – this one spilled partway into her path, and she wondered if it was placed there, or moved. There were other scents hanging in this damp cavern, after all. Nevertheless, she investigated. She stepped closer and used a paw to pull the wood towards her, her silvery blue gaze shifting over it in interest.

Much to her pleasure, there is a small glint within the log, reflecting whatever minimal light managed to reach the prize. She pulls it from the log and examines it in her paw: it’s a clear, spiky quartz. Or, she assumes it is clear: the lighting in the cave makes it difficult to discern the specifics, but she knows it’s a quartz at least. The stone feels heavy and cold in her palm, but she does not toss it away, and she keeps it with gladness as she continues forward. The next log is not far from this one – there were several in this vicinity, and Hadriana experimentally presses her weight against the top of the log, wondering if it would break or hold.

The top of the log shatters loudly, the snap of the bark echoing against the tunnels cool stone interior. Hadriana lifts her brows for a moment, her focus shifting to her surroundings as she surveys the area, before returning to the yule log as she steps off it. Sweeping away the debris, she discovers an open leaf and she narrows her eyes in curiosity. At first, she sees only the debris from the log scattered across the leaf, but upon further inspection, she realizes that the shattered bark is mixed in with a pile of dried herbs. Oops. Hadriana picks away what chunks of bark she can, and she uses the leaf to pull the herbs from the log. She doesn’t know quite what kind of herbs they are yet, and instead folds the leaf up between her teeth with a promise to examine the contents more closely at a later date. For now, she moves on to the next log which is sitting directly next to the one she just broke.

His half-brother seemed to be partaking in the glory of what Nafasi had left behind for them but seeing as he was leg-deep in the madness, Cosmin decided (intelligently) not to distract him. Instead focusing on the logs that he had discovered and making sure they were all empty of items. Pushing himself forward and discovering that he could just put all his goodies into one very empty log and began to drag that through that light blanket of snow and back out of the labyrinth. Weaving himself through the mazework and back to his home to sort through his finds thoroughly. exit cosmin

With little else to keep her tethered to the labyrinth, the medic began to work as best she could to put her objects back into one of the logs. Pushing them as neatly as she could into the confines of one before she lifted it into her jaws. The bark upon them was a little more painful on her external features and it certainly did not taste good on her tongue but it was the only thing she had that would get her findings back to the Cove. Perhaps if she was feeling up to it she would share some of her goodies with Moradin or Eisa... exit ana

Patiently as he moved, Guelle sorted through his things while nonchalantly looking to see what other folks around him were doing. Looking to see what items they had found but most everyone seemed to have varying shades of the same items. Guelle didn't feel the need to barter with anyone else and had enjoyed the haul he had discovered. Pushing each item into one of his very broken logs before sauntering his way out of the labyrinth. It took him quite a few twists and turns before he finally found the way out. Doing his best to not appear frustrated by the matter as he lifted his chin proudly and continued on his way. exit guelle.

Without needing to do much more of anything here in the labyrinth, he figured it was about time to find his way out of here. Thankfully he had watched a few stragglers mind themselves through the tunnels and felt confident in following one of them in a certain direction. Not them physically but their scent, feeling their own confidence in where they were going and hoping that it was reflected back as he roamed the territory until finally finding himself in the bright light of the outside world. Sighing with relief as he breathed in the crisp air and began back down to flatter ground. exit chaeton
