September Y13
Fall
Though the air is still warm and the sun is bright, the summer is beginning to wane and, with it, the humidity has started to die down. It is a welcomed relief for the inhabitants of the jungle, as more moderate weather will mean that the rainforest will not feel quite as stifling, as well as those from the desert, who's early autumn will see calm winds and mild nights. For the rest of the peninsula, the change in seasons will be gradual, hinting towards the colder months that are soon to come.

Lady luck — she was a fickle creature at times and certainly paid no mind to the half-blind girl that was just trying to do right in the world. Gathering all the courage she had to try and overcome her bad luck by attempting to gather goods for her sister and even for Moradin. They deserved a little good and it would feel nice to give a gift to them and, for Ana, expect nothing in return. She just wanted to share a little happiness and be the reason for their smiles today. That was the least that she was expecting and hoped this would solve it.

Little by little he was obtaining items that were going to look great in his den and some that he had a small idea as to what to do with but hoped it wouldn't fall in his attempt. Chaeton had never been good at grand ideas but he supposed that now was as good a time as any to decorate and bring joy to others. Digging into this log and mentally crossing his toes and legs, wanting this to be one filled with something good and not a pile of useless air that he already had quite enough of.

Earning these items felt like the best thing in the world because he wasn't doing a whole lot to get them. So many things were coming out like berries he could eat (and boy, did he. evidence written on the stain of his mouth) as well as a few choice cuts of meat that he nibbled on occasionally. The gems and crystals were nice but living in a cavern system he had access to those daily and wasn't as delighted by them but they were still pretty to look upon. If anything, he was looking for something new.

Counting up her gemstones, crystals, berries, meat, feathers, etc turned out to be cathartic as she put them into their individual piles. Sorting them based on what they were but so that others could come by and pick something out of they liked. Renly didn't need everything and was more than willing to share her discoveries with others. Not like the Crow who hoarded everything that she was shiny but simply a sharer who only wished to keep the things that were near necessity. So she did what she could to open yet another log, working to keep herself busy.

Another location and more logs to be found. This had turned into a right fun game for the yearling. The surprises left in these logs had proved to be quite interesting. Yarrow had no idea what to do with any of what had been found but right now it was just fun to find the things. Perhaps Yasha would have some use for all the trinkets. Or else just den decoration.
The hybrid wandered the tunnels, slipping by lions that had already gathered up some treasures, and looking for a log to call their own. This said log ended up being found tucked into a crevice in a turn within the tunnels. Yarrow pulled out the lodged log and ended up breaking it open in his effort to dislodge the log.

it saddens her that some of the trinkets in the logs would be best displayed in a cozy den somewhere. as a wandering vagrant with a new home a new day of the week, imogen feels a pang of homesickness. she had thought that she would have been over this slinking feeling now after being gone for so long, but she's still reminded at every twist and turn of the land she loved and had been forced to leave behind. the lioness sighs through her nose, absently stumbling upon another log. well, she had found that one without even searching.

What was this about? The scarlet furred cat moved into the tunnels with both apprehension and anticipation humming in her veins. The fresh scents of several strangers were tangled together in the cool cavern air, mixed in with the unexpected perfumes that were out of place in a cave: pepper, sugar, fruit. It was enough to draw the lioness into the tunnels, and she moved over the cool cave floor upon dark, nimble paws, intent on her investigation being silent. But it soon became clear that this was nothing nefarious: the source of the misplaced scents came from a variety of logs that were dispersed through the shadows of the tunnels, apparently filled with goodies. After watching another lion find some trinket in theirs, she took a look at one for herself.

The fact that one of his very favourite haunts had been filled up with logs was the very best kind of news in Xander's mind. He had exited the Hollows and slipped straight back underground, along with a whole handful of others who seemed to have the same idea. The Mother was certainly both generous and kind of spirit lately and the Savante boy offered up a silent prayer of thanks before he got to work overturning the logs lining the hallways of the Labyrinth.

The contents of the log mystify the woman: it’s a pile of oddly shaped… furs? No, that couldn’t be right. Hadriana took a closer look, using her claws to fish around inside and pull out what appeared to be a thick ribbon of hide. Unraveled, it was approximately the length of her tail, the brown material as supple and flexible as a hide could ever be. It takes the lioness a long moment to process what she’s found, before she realized that this is a healer’s tool: a wrap, or bandage. A rush of surprise and appreciation rose in Hadriana’s chest, and she sent a prayer of thanks to Maua for the gift. She then wrapped it around her forearm, carefully tucking in the end piece, before she decided to continue through the tunnels. The scarlet cat comes across another log, this one small and unobtrusive, and she tilts it over to peek inside, squinting in the dim light of the labyrinth.

Agana had been traveling through the Labyrinth in search of a pretty rock for a protection ritual when she realized there were far too many lions in the caves for a normal day. Pausing at the entrance, Agana would observe them before she went in; she was unwilling to follow the crowd unless it guaranteed some kind of benefit to her. Inside, though, she heard another lion mention something about a scavenger hunt left by the gods of this island. Agana was unfamiliar with these gods, but the mention of a scavenger hunt piqued her interest enough to get her inside.
Within the caves, several lions worked on opening up logs within their mitts, some revealing prizes inside. The wheels began turning in the witch's mind, and so she stalked forward, towards a darkened tunnel where only a few others led ahead of her, and she found one of the logs nestled against a pile of rubble, hidden within the stones' shadow. Latching her claws into it, she looked over her shoulder to make sure no one was looming over her before she'd set her sights on opening up this log.
