A delighted giggle rings out across the cold air like the delicate chime of a bell, an ethereal sound that only the most sensitive of mortal ears could hope to catch. A joyful breeze swirls up the mountain cliffs, leaving behind eddying trails of fluttering snowflakes in the wake of a certain sprite’s cheerful passage. Nafasi is too overtaken with giddy excitement to be perturbed by the troublesome nature of her climb, for what better place is there to fully admire her handiwork, if not at the mountain’s highest peak?

The glorious view of her winter wonderland stretches out below the sprite’s bouncing paws, the endless waves of falling snow shining almost as brightly as her mischievous grin. Oh, how big and bold it was indeed! She thinks she could gaze upon her masterwork for forever – but where would be the fun in that?

So, for her next trick…?

The contemplative dip in her youthful brow exists for only a moment. With another trilling laugh, the sprite spins around to press a firm paw to cool stone, a soft glow emanating from beneath her touch before the sprite herself fades away into the mist of a passing cloud.

When the fog finally fades, Nafasi's presence has been replaced by...a tree? But not just any tree, oh no. This one is to be the grandest specimen any lion has ever laid eyes on, practically large enough to be seen all the way from the ground! Exotic flowers, berries, and sparkly stones nestled decoratively amongst the snow-covered needles seemed to suffuse the mountain with the beckoning scent of pine and, more oddly, cinnamon. A concoction almost as tempting as the vibrant array of hide-wrapped bundles at the tree’s base, contents filled with various countless combinations of trinkets edible, useful, or simply beautiful.

Curious visitors may find those treasures frustratingly difficult to budge, however. Unless, perhaps, one thought to offer something nice in its place?

Io wandered around the mountains looking for anything she could snag for herself and her pride. She had never been in here before, and thus she was eager to check out what kind of prey could be found in these high peaks. So far, she had killed a mere hare, but she wasn't letting that stop her. She felt like offering the Bluffs different prey items could be good to have a variety of prey to pick from. But as she arrived, she spotted something way different from prey; it was a massive yet beautiful tree, of greater might than anything she had seen before.

As if she were driven by some sort of energy, she felt like giving up her hare, for reasons she didnt know. Slowly, she approached, leaving the hare at the tree's feet.

There is a rush in the air as the breeze picks up abruptly, just as the offering is placed near the base of the tree. It is cold and frigid, prying at tufts of fur and exposed skin as it lifts the uppermost layer of the freshly-fallen snow, causing the flakes to be swept up into the wind with it. Nafasi may be a troublemaker and, yes, they had done their fair share of tricking as of late – but this (thankfully, for everyone else) was harmless. Today, the sprite would be giving good things to those that were smart enough to heed her signs and recognize the pure intentions behind the appearance of these mystical trees – and, frankly, it was as simple as that!

The wind and snow would swirl for a few more moments before finally settling back down, and it was only then that a twinkle would garner your attention. Which was something that, you were sure, hadn’t been there before. Looking closer, you would realize that a colorful variety of gemstones were the culprit, catching the light and veering your attention downwards, towards the tree’s large trunk. Alongside these jewels, you would find an impressive collection of trinkets, pelts, bones, berries, and herbs, all nestled comfortably in the crevice of the tree. Take your pick.

This...was not a place he would normally choose to travel to given the odd weather as of late. A cold and difficult location to reach even when the weather was more accommodating. However that tree ... he could glimpse it even from a good distance away and it drew him towards it.

For a long time now Reti knew to associate great trees with the supernatural and even deities, and having one spring up suddenly? Yeah. He was certain this was the work of the unseen world.

He started his trek towards it carrying with him an offering of sorts. Because to be frank he did not know what deity was responsible for the manifestation and it was a bad idea to come empty handed and offend the unknown. In his mouth he brought a beautifully cleaned and polished hyena skull, patterns had been clawed into its forehead in a decorative pattern.

Arriving at the base of the great tree he glanced at the few others gathered and rumbled a soft 'hello' before approaching the roots and carefully laying his offering down.

The snow falls soft

drawing the world down to a whitened hush, forcing us to pause long enough to take stock of everything that we miss in our crazed pursuit to gain everything that we can. One would say she is a woman who wears a gown of winter frost that blinds the eyes.

How interesting. Faelyn knew how important spiritual trees could be, remembering long ago how one had been. Fortunately for her, she was in the vicinity and actually had something to make an offering with like the other two that were there. She had been collecting herbs, and while they would have been quite useful for the pride and her stock, she thought that perhaps something more useful could be obtained by giving them to the tree. So she moved to the side, trying to stay as clear of the others as she could, and placed the little bundle at the base of the tree, nudging it closer with her paw before she backed away a few feet quickly, not sure if something was going to happen.

Hunger was a prominent and unyielding mistress in little Denim's life right now. Without her mother bringing her easy meals while she daydreamed back at the den about needless things, she had less frequent access to food.

She would seek food in new ways now, finding that if she looked on longingly at someone's food and mewed sorrowfully a few times, they usually surrendered it to her. A tree did not seem as likely to oblige her, but she saw how it generously granted others with things if they offered something first.

Coming up to the tree, a meager gift of a branch in her mouth, she would set it down and look intensely at the offered stick, hoping something she could do more than chew on would appear in its place. She would even add in one of her delicate mews as if to further encourage the trade. Would it be enough? She didn't know what else she could give.. she was no hunter.

Gifting: Day 11 — AFTERLIFE UPGRADE (+1 level)_{BG — ART — CODE}

Dayin had been duel tasking (hunting and exploring) when after the first proved successful and partway through the second he was startled to notice the largest freaking tree he had ever seen in the distance. Like seriously... that thing was huge. And he HAD to get a closer look.

Quietly making his way up the path Dayin eventually entered the area beneath the tree where a few others had gathered. He noticed two things. First that it looked like this was some kind of ceramony where lions were leaving offerings, and second ... there was a tiny cub present leaving a stick.

His heart melted a little at the tiny mew it gave and he knew, KNEW he was about to be a little hungrier this evening. With a soft sigh the large youth approached the tree and stood near the smol chold carefully placing one of his two marmot kills down as an offering of respect to the tree. The second smaller marmot Dayin would place down near @Denim and chuff once softly for her to take it. Yeah, he was a softy... but so what? He would be fine, bird eggs, fish and one day of no red meat wouldn't kill him or anything.
