It’s important to keep up to date with who rules what prides, and so the challenge that comes lures the Miroslav out to the cove. The battle has begun by the time he quietly arrives, taking a seat toward the back of the spectators simply to watch and listen. How interestingly tense this fight has become, hearing what is snapped and snarled.

He’d intended to come and visit the ruling family at some point anyway - it would only serve him now to see who rules at the end of this battle. He thinks he’s seen this fight before; the challenger is familiar in the way the defending lioness is. Scorpius realises this colossal lion has come to take the Cove before. He’d lost then. Has he trained enough to win this time?

No sooner had the tiny feline settled beside the cub, the explosive power of the combatants hitting one another drew her attention briefly away. The male was enormous, at least fifteen times the size of the Galloway scion, probably even bigger than that. Or so it seemed to her practised gaze. Not that Calcifer would have balked at the idea of taking him on - the big bastard still had plenty of soft spots that were easier for her to reach than a similar sized opponent. Nevertheless, they went straight for each others faces and Calcifer's rosy gaze fixated on the slide of blood down legs and cheeks, body briefly tensing as she imagined the counter strikes she might have made. When the quiet voice from near her piped up that the challenger was her father, Calcifer glanced quickly back towards @Valkyrie.

And nearly jumped out of her skin to find another cub there - a hefty boy who had come up to stand behind the girl in her hiding place and who remained silent and watchful, his gaze turned upon her. When the initial shock had worn off and she'd managed to resist the urge to flip upwards and away from the surprise appearance, her heart racing and rose eyes blinking rapidly, she offered both a wide grin. "Your papa, huh? Yours too, big lad?" She cast towards @Vukasin, before carefully lifting her lengthened claws towards her mouth, tiny incisors nibbling away at any snags that might have gathered along their edges. "Ya think he'll win?" She asked, mischief gathered in the hint of a smile as she watches the two cubs. In a way, perhaps she had chosen to situate herself near the youth because if it didn't go so well, it was likely they would be used as bargaining chips if others discovered them.

She did not want to be here. The last event the exiled woman wanted to witness was a woman fighting a man for something that was rightfully hers. Still, a shift in power was valuable information, and even should this lion not succeed – it would be useful to learn his face (and the challenged queen’s), for she was woefully ignorant of the political landscape of this continent. So, the Gold Crow’s Jay would approach the gathering but not infiltrate it, mindful to stay beyond the marked borders of the cove but deliberately within eyesight. Finding a spot alone, the woman would stand with a quiet burning tension in her belly and an expression of stoic, unimpressed attention; all ears perched forward, blue-brown eyes moving over the crowd she stood behind and the skirmish at its center. She focused on their motions – noting every slash and bite and bruise that might come between the dueling cats – and fought against the memories that quaked in the back of her mind. Of the heartbreak, betrayal, and a dead prince.

Kvare were in no state to attend a challenge, but he does so regardless. His walk is no more than a stagger, wounds wrapped with mosses and crude bandaging, soaked through with blood from wounds reopened. He were in little shape to fight, but little would keep Kvare Tollaire from the encroaching threat upon his family. Their pet challenger were here once more, and it were now his wife that the boy would face. By the time he emerged from the brush, @Sunder was already there, and so grew the crowd surrounding them. He might have been content to linger on the sidelines, to delay his own revenge in favor for when he could mantle their next fight.

But then the boy said something stupid, and Kvare rose to his paws, despite the staggering pain in his chest.

Challenging for his pride like an incessant gnat was one thing, but threatening the freedom of his wife, his children, his pride—such was a transgression the Tollaire Patriarch could hardly let slide. Regardless if he wins or loses, he begins in a slow, haunting drawl. His eyes scan the crowd as he speaks, quickly finding @Marja and @Yuna, making his way where he could sit equidistant between them. —I will kill him, and end this moronic farce. He cared little to hide the threat in his tone, allowing his voice to bellow across the shores. Regardless of the outcome, one of them would lose more than a crown—and even if he die trying, he would ensure the safety of his entire pride, even at the cost of his own life.

Arkyn's teeth clamp down on the sensitive skin beneath her left eye and the tears flow freely, mingling with the blood that rolled down her face. He began to gnaw at the open wound and Sunder couldn't help but wonder if she'd even have any skin left there after all of this was said and done. Her own claws manage to slice downward, leaving a row of lacerations in their wake. But it wasn't enough. She needed a much stronger counterstrike against him. But then, then she hears a voice in the growing crowd. "I will kill him, and end this moronic farce." Her heart hammers in her chest, the beat a thunderous drum in her ears. "I cannot let you win. Not with his life on the line. Yours, I can do without." She hisses lowly for only Arkyn to hear before she attempts to wrench her face out of his hold. A spray of blood gushes from her face and although she could feel nothing but the intense burn where skin had once resided, she plunged into the feeling. She would use it to her advantage to distract her from her next move. Sunder would waste no time in attempting to swing her head to her left, hoping to slam her cranium against Arkyn's, though she knew this move would come with a cost she hoped it would be enough to disorient him along with herself. But Sunder was used to working disoriented, she was a woman that dabbled in poisons. She had to be accustomed to disorientation. Besides, she didn't want to remember what her husband had said amongst all of those gathered. She didn't want to let it be true. Yelling causes for an ear to twist in the direction, and if he weren't in the throws of battle he would have thrown his head back in a deep cackle. Oh, how funny it was that others thought threatening him meant something scary. They could come and try to kill him - he'd have fun tearing their insides outward. He can feel his teeth digging in deeper, and as Sunder jerks her head away from him does he feel a large chunk of her flesh between his jaws. Well, that's one way of getting out of his grip. Arkyn spits the piece of flesh to the ground, the blood coating fangs and dripping down his chin. Aw, strike a nerve, did I? He calls out, a growl laced with his words.

As he turns his head back does he feel the connection of her own hitting him square on, the sudden banging of skulls causing for throbs of dulling pain to radiate. He tries to shake it off while left forepaw rises and attempts to strike up and toward the woman. He was attempting to wrap his foreleg around her neck, unsheathed claws seeking to sink into the skin against the left side of her neck in a hold of sorts. Your lover thinks he is something to fear, he breathes out with a huff of laughter, knowing that it were the man he had fought prior to today. They all were simply funny things, and even if he lost here again today that would not deter him from challenging again. It never would, no matter who was ruling.

"Aw, strike a nerve, did I?" Arkyn's words irritate her endlessly, for someone who didn't seem to enjoy talking he had no issue with speaking worthless nothing's ALL of the time. She wanted nothing more than to shut him up, for good. So, when she swings her head back to connect with his, she makes sure to put some oomph behind it. She wanted his skull to be ringing for days after this; he was only deserving of such things with the massive headache that he was to begin with. He turns his face back and away from her after their heads knock, but his left forepaw snakes upward to grip her neck. It was an intimate hold as she breathes into his face, her lip curled back to reveal gleaming canines. "Your lover thinks he is something to fear." He chuckles and Sunder offers him a dazzling smile, "There is an even greater something to fear, it is me." She is quick to retaliate, her jaws snapping outward in an attempt to clamp down on his own mouth, a devilish hold that one might even consider a kiss had it not been for the gnashing of her own teeth, attempting to slice and puncture. Her head was ringing, her face raw from the gaping wound, but she burned with adrenaline and anger inside. He would not best her, not here, not ever. She would fight him until the end of eternity, if it meant keeping her husband from facing a death sentence that wasn't his to face. This was her mess, and she'd clean it up herself. THREW MY BOTTLE AT THE SKY SAID, GOD THAT'S A WARNING

There was a call, one that pulled the man out of the Hollows to wander curiously closer to this Cove territory. Kraven didn't know a lick about the rulers of the place, all he knew that this was another challenge and the challenges around here seemed to be filled to the brim with drama. He passes a few patches of mud from the rain that had been peetering out across the lands, smearing the substance across his fur to help obscure his scent and appearance. Once he was satisfied he would move closer to the borders, easily snaking across them to plant himself on the further outskirts of the Cove. His golden gaze locked onto the fighters, only to realize that the man happened to be one of them. Well, maybe not a Savante entirely, but he had relations with one of them. A brow would arch curiously, so would he take the upperhand then? At the moment they seemed to be in a delightfully close entanglement of limbs, and Kraven was thoroughly intrigued.

He's able to gain his hold, his claws ripping into the flesh and holding him steady. Her words bring forth a deep growl of amusement, eyes narrowing upon his target. How cute of you to think that. He is able to retort before he feels teeth sinking into the top portion of his maw, digging into the thin skin and causing for a white hot sensation to course through him. If the adrenaline wasn't running rampant in his veins he may have reacted a different manner, but he was a Brynmawr - they did not show feeling. A snarl is released as his right forelimb rises, attempting to use the left one around her neck as aided balance and leverage. His right paw snakes forward and attempts to tear into Sunder's neck, right at the front. He was attempting to drag them down, hoping he could even hit that precious jugular in its wake. No thoughts were filtering his mind now, only fighting and drawing as much blood as he could from this woman. He would never give up nor give in. Losses were lessons, and the more times he fought her the more he learned how she moved.

The voice that summons them forth is a familiar one. Except the last time Celestia had heard this voice he had been bellowing, furious. She wondered to herself what on earth @Arkyn wanted to do with the Cove. She hadn't the faintest clue who ruled here, or what connections Arkyn might have with the land. But she knew that he was her daughter's husband and by extension, family. He needed to be supported in his endeavors, no matter what the consequences may be. The matriarch moved towards the outskirts of the terrain, having gathered lavender and mud to coat her own fur to mask the scent of the Hollows. The last thing she needed was to be followed. Her golden gaze would scan the crowd, noticing immediately @Valkyrie and @Vukasin in the crowd. Her fur bristled slightly, wanting nothing more than to go to their sides and protect them. But her mission was greater than that, she needed to focus on the fight, to learn the necessary information. The woman Arkyn fought was significantly smaller, but Celestia worried that might aide her in being a swifter opponent with faster attacks against Arkyn's larger frame. She hunkered down in the sand, attempting to make herself as small as possible to remain unnoticed.
