The little snow leopard had never made an attempt to lead a hunt before, not was that her original intent now. She was simply out here for a quick run in the snow, an activity she never seemed to tire of. The cold air did not phase her, even as the sun began its descent and a curtain of steel grey clouds began swiftly rolling in, bringing a dusting of more snow along with it.

Despite not being out here with the intent to hunt, her steps would slow as she came upon some fresh tracks not yet covered by the new storm cloud. She was curious to know who the tracks belonged to, moving more stealthily, eyes searching and ears perked. She had to admit, all the running around had made her hungry.

A need for food allowed the ability to look past alliances, at least for Henrik. Personally, he didn't know half the reasons behind each enemy that they even had. So as the scent of a pride that they were not on so friendly terms with hit his nose, he paused to give it a thought before he carried forward.

Hopefully, the source would hold the same view. A job was a job, they could do their bickering at a later point. When he found her he fell off to the side with a dip of his cranium in his silent manner as he trailed along with her in hopes of finding the prey she seemed to be on the path of as his own nose aided as a backup.

Swiftly traveling through the fields away from his beloved sands, working his way into making sure that he stayed at the ready. Working his body just as well as his mind as he tried to get used to the different territories built within this land. Already he was becoming accustomed to living here but it still did not yet feel like any home of his. Perhaps in time he would find it comforting but for now, it still felt like he was simply passing through. A nomad built to sample but never flavor and savor.

When he spotted two creatures ahead of him (both clearly feline, but one of a different kind than his own) he began to slow his exercise until he was but a yard away. Eventually lowering himself to an acceptable height and looking to both @Mosrael (albeit with curiosity and buried jealousy for its beauty) and to @Henrik whose stature was large and athletic, a bit older than himself but all the more fit for a hunt. Good morrow. He greeted them as quietly as he could while being silent so the hunt would not be disturbed by his dark tones.

Promptly setting to moving a few inches to his right and bringing a stone close to his body, rolling his claws over it carefully. Slow and methodical, sharpening the tools that he intended to use in this hunt on whatever it was the snow leopard had tracked down. Not at all using his good sense to look at the tracks or scent the air more than he already had. Putting trust in her as a leader and hoping for the best. He wasn't here for the food, but moreover a chance to find the answers that he sought in those that called this place home.

To her surprise, two lions would eventually fall in behind her as she carefully began tracking the unknown creatures. Knowing that she was leading a hunt made her incredibly nervous, wondering if she was going to make a fool of herself, or perhaps she would sustain injury from whatever creatures they were about to spook. "Hello.." She murmured to them, visibly shy and awkward.

Eventually, they would find prey, Mosrael doing her best to keep pace, even jumping incredibly high, tail flailing both comically and impressively behind her. It served its purpose, she kept her balance even as it jumped and bucked, claws sinking into its backside, fangs seeking its neck.

The one she fought would trip over a collection of strange orange plants, crashing into the ground and dislodging her. She would look to @Henrik and @Chaeton then. She had been so caught up in the moment that she hadn't realized not one, but two of the creatures had been taken down successfully.

Attention would shift to the pumpkins then, wondering what they were. Perhaps if neither of the others seemed surprised by them she could ask them.

It would seem that they would be joined by another, a brute who smelled of no particular place that Henrik could pinpoint. He seemed civil enough as he greeted them. Henrik looked from the femme to the brute but happily gave a nod of his own in return to the pair.

In due time they had found what would eventually become their prey. The female was hard at work on one already as Henrik aimed to herd the other into the hopefully waiting bulk of the younger brute. Between the two, a carcass would eventually fall in success. When his gaze left their catch, his tongue swiped his blood-stained lips, as his eyes drifted back to the Mosrael.

It is then, on the other side of her fallen prey, that he took note of what had captured her attention. The round orange plants seemed to sprout up randomly all over. His eyes narrowed on them as he left the kill where it lay and moved toward them as well.

Their hunt was surprisingly successful as he took that moment they were downed to stop and catch his breath in the light blanket of snow. It had fallen upon all three of them in turn but thankfully they were marching right into Spring and it was beginning to fade. With both of the prey down on the ground and their last breaths having been taken, it took a moment to trail @Mosrael's eyes as well as @Henrik to the pumpkins. Oh no, not this again. Came his breathy words as he gave a prolonged sigh, not wishing to explain the game to them but also wanting to keep his distance from them. Let them figure out what they were and what they had in them... Chaeton didn't want to experience yet another one of "Nafasi's" tricks. Supposedly they were good things, too, but he hadn't seen those yet.

One seemed intrigued and the other one bothered by the appearance of the pumpkins standing all in a row. Mosrael thus did not know what to think of them herself. She would look to @Chaeton questioningly for a moment before following @Henrik's lead and moving towards the objects.

As she drew near, her steps would slow and she would sink into a crouch. One front limb would be raised up, hovering over the top of the 8th pumpkin in the line-up, bringing it down in a few careful swatting motions, touching the top of it as though toying with a coiled snake.

When it did not retaliate against she touch, she smacked down much harder, breaking the thing clean open.

Nafasi watches from the bushes, never once letting herself be seen by those huddled around her perfectly-placed pumpkins. They really were a curious bunch, weren't they? Well, fortunately for them, the sprite was feeling extra generous today, and had a treat for them that she has been wanting to share. And so, it was with a small smile that the being craned her head, watching the lions for a few more moments, before giving a quick stomp of her paw against the earth.

Hm...

Without warning, the pumpkin suddenly splits down the middle, right in front of your eyes! And...oh? It looks like there is something tucked inside! Weird, but you might as well check it out. Investigating further, you find a collection of trinkets, feathers, gems, fruit, and other curious things hidden within the pumpkin, ripe for the taking! Looks like you got lucky today.

It looks like luck was on your side, he casually admitted once he had caught his breath from the hunt. Craning his head to see that there were goodies inside, as Cassandra had predicted there would be. Gems and trinkets, feathers and wares... they weren't his thing. Chaeton had never been a materialistic lion and thus would allow the other two to let their hearts go crazy on divvying up the rewards. Instead, he turned to the two deceased bongo's and allowed himself a nice feast. Not at all concerned for competition since he had forgone the pumpkin's goods and there were three lions for two rather hefty prey.

Once he was done with his fill he bowed his head to the tiny, lithe snow leopard (appreciating the differences of her species to his own) and a glance to @Henrik. Pleased to have had their company and hoped that their days would be good following. Rushing his claws against the rock he had found earlier, he trailed his claws back and forth along its jagged surface. Sharpening them up one by one though he hardly needed to. Digging into the flesh of the bongo had been enough to show him that they were quite pointed but he grinded them against the stone anyway.

Once he knew they were good enough he got himself to a stand and pushed off with his back legs, sending a small cloud of dirt from where he had been. Racing his way back off towards the ocean where he felt the call to Nature the loudest. Legs bracing themselves with each stroke he made against the ground, mane whipping backwards as he allowed his body to simple soar across the land. Full and satiated, running was an easy task to complete. exit chaeton
