welcome to a horrible love child of spu and cai, inspired by spu's ridiculous obsession with throne of glass. there's some serious the thirteen vibes here, along with inspiration from spartan culture and the free folk of game of thrones. and generally our own spin. enjoy.

in the deep of the forest, beyond the borders of amaryllis, the jade vipers have always thrived. a coven of sisters, primarily, where men were scarce and children scarcer, still. the precious few that were able to be brought to life had to be hardened, crafty, cunning to survive both the forest and the three headed serpent, themself. as time grew, a sickness brewed and too many fell to its grip.

in the end, the forest was damned - and the surviving coven split into three smaller sisterhoods, each heading in different directions to find a new place to survive and expand.

Physical Traits —

• relatively simple in terms of markings; some primitive ( striping, cub spots ) are the most common. rarely extravagant in looks


• most any color, though shades of brown are most common. nearly always desaturated, rarely intense in shade.

Personality Traits — they tend to be wild and wicked. not intensely, angrily aggressive but sort of brutal. in the way that a slight or insult would be met with a broken bone or brief, vicious battle - and then they go back to being best friends. they're untamed and hedonistic, but they are hellbent on surviving. discipline is necessary but so is fun.


Ending Notes —
males are totally permitted. if they're family they were rare and celebrated. unrelated males are brought in for breeding but often not always kept around for suspicion runs deep.

it is also worth noting that they are mostly infertile. it's hard for them to become pregnant, hard to carry to term and litters will be small and rare. we're going to implement a 2 cub max litter policy with that being very very rare. singletons are most common and we ask you stick to not having litters often! pls play up the lore thank u.

things are always subject to change as they enter amaryllis and develop. this is gonna be a fun exercise in creativity! no one is beholden to rigidly uphold anything here - go with what is natural for the course of development.

at the ripe age of 6 months, cubs are given their biggest test: survive the viper. three venomous snakes are gathered and placed in an enclosed area. the cub is pushed in and must deal with the three serpents through whatever means necessary. some kill the snakes, some sweet talk, and some outsmart them. those that do not survive are considered weak and are only briefly mourned.

on leadership

like the three headed serpent, the jade vipers are governed, always, by three. they are less a rigid hierarchy and more the three whom seem to have the best of the sisterhood at heart. they have a built in tie-breaker and make decisions as a majority of the three.

Concept background: She lost her mother to the sickness that damned the original cove, leaving an orphan Hawa, who had been raised by the rest of the sisterhood. For now, her personality consists of a cub who, after suffering such a loss, being this young, has attachment issues, is mute by choice, barely speaks if any, mostly communicating through gestures, and only speaks when she really wants to, most around others. But for 98% of the time, she stays quiet. She is curious yet a bit morbid, interested in corpses and not-so-good things. Maybe, or maybe not, she grows to be manipulative and charming. She will be clever and think before acting. She likes to mess around with corpses; it's pretty easy to mold at this age.

A devote soul to the sisterhood of the Jade Vipers. Born and raised among them, as well as surviving her own test of the Viper, Vrevine has bounded her heart and soul to all who are joined alongside her. Strength is a viable aspect in her mind, and weakness is something to be ridden of - thrown out of the Vipers to uphold their values.

She is observant, and often times judgmental, but she does well to keep her thoughts to herself unless it is the appropriate time to speak on them. She is traditional, stubborn, passionate - she worships her deities every day, praises them publicly without remorse. She is their servant, so loyal and true.

A Chameleon of sorts - sarcastic, intelligent. Nelly changes her personality depending on who she needs to be. She dislikes emotions and feelings and prefers pure fact over any speculation. She likes to hunt for the truth and attempts to pull secrets from those she meets. She's prideful, jealous, possessive, vain, and extremely selfish. She never does anything out of the goodness of her heart, there has to be a benefit for her. She likes to work in deals - anything to have leverage over someone else. It is hard to win her loyalty, and she has no problem selling secrets to get what she wants. The few she is loyal to can count on her to do anything as long as it doesn't cost her her life. She loves to find ways to torment others and enjoys making others as uncomfortable as ever. Nelly is addicted to playing games and can care little for any consequences. She's the brawn of the family despite her size and knows her way well around any battlefield. She's got the scars to show for it, though they are practically invisible amongst the deep oak coloring of her fur.

If you've got a problem with one of them, you've got a problem with her. She's a sneaky bitch and will gather whatever information is necessary, but she doesn't mind getting her paws dirty when she has to.

Anastasia
Meaning: resurrection

Third Degree: Snake's Eyes

While two of the vipers had been almost easy to subdue, the third had simply been biding its time. For a moment, when Anastasia was distracted, the snake unhinged its dripping fangs, and pierced them into her hind leg.
It was assumed, of course, that she had failed. A disappointment. A weakness. Already considered dead, despite still drawing breath.

After two nights of fevers and hallucinations, Anastasia woke on the third day, exhausted and disoriented, but alive, She limped her way back to the pride, the viper crushed between her teeth.

(How did she survive? Did she find a plant in time? Did someone else save her? Is she just built different? Not sure yet.)

She attributes this event to her ability to commune with spirits and the divine, having brushed so closely against death as a cub. She also believes she was saved for a purpose, and that the three-headed serpent wanted her to be their Eyes.
Anastasia believes that the deity grants her visions of the future, and that this is her purpose; an oracle, a seer. She's certain she has all the answers, even if they aren't what others want to hear. Sometimes, the answer to Will I have cubs? is a resounding "no". Gods cannot be argued with, Anastasia is just the messenger.

Always having one paw in the future, the sickness was the first real thing to surprise Anastasia in a long time. There were no warning signs, no prophetic dreams, no sight given to her from the divine in the moment she needed it most.
Her whole life she had put her trust in the forces she thought she had learned to control, but was unable to foresee this destruction, and therefore unable to protect her clan. In some ways, she feels guilty and wonders if she is still fit to be The Eyes.

Personality-wise, Anastasia likes to come off as pensive, detached. as if the viper's venom had burned out the emotional core of her. To her, this is strength, and the deep, tumultuous flood of feelings she suppresses are her greatest weakness. Sometimes, the stone mask slips, and Anastasia's tightly-corked champagne bottle of emotions can erupt.
