The hours were getting away from him, but he was determined not to come back to the shore empty-handed. Even at this time of late afternoon, right on the cusp of sunset, the creatures of the prairie roamed, finding their preferred places of rest before it was officially time to settle. Krait moved among them quietly, a stalking, sandy shadow through the tall grass.

As he moved, when he felt certain nothing else could hear, he released soft little calls into the evening around him, invitations for those near to draw closer and join him. He was on the trail now, the smells causing his mouth to water in anticipation, but he wouldn’t make any moves until he had a little backup.

A leisurely stroll was being taken by Jiera. She had taken a break searching for herbs, something that seemed to be all consuming in her life. She had been a rogue for such a long time now, and with that came loneliness and routine. So, in order to break up the usual and mundane, she padded across the fields as the sun began to set. She thoroughly enjoyed seeing the colors of a sunset, a view she would never get tired of. Standing to watch, she heard a call for a hunting party, and after a couple moments of thought does the healer decide to join in. A meal wouldn't be too bad of a thing, dinner before bed would be nice. She follows the scent of prey, tantalizing and causing for her stomach to rumble; she hoped it would be as good as it smelled.

The sun was beginning to rise, and Leilani was already up and going. She had decided to get a little bit of exercise in, running at full speed for as long as she could before slowing down. Keeping her endurance up was something that would always help her with hunts, and so she ran back and forth on a trail several times until she was feeling a bit winded. Taking in deep inhales of breath before releasing it slowly to calm her breathing, the scent of prey catches her attention. She becomes alert, pink eyes scanning her surroundings. She takes note of some bushes that are adorned with purple flowers, and as she padded over toward them she would rub herself along them a few times to help conceal her scent.

Once satisfied, the woman would begin to follow the scent trail, soon coming across a couple of other lions that seemed to be gathered by the same scent. With a small smile does the huntress prepare herself, crouching low and waiting.

The fields were a great place for a hunt, and she hoped that despite the snow she might still be able to scavenge a few herbs. Most of the plants seemed to have already begun to frost over, becoming wilted or crushed under the weight of snowfall. She pushed the snow back where she saw green poking through, studying the plants to find ones that were still able to be harvested. She eventually found some usable monkey rope, a very versatile plant that a wide assortment of uses and she figured would be good to have on hand. She collected a small amount, ensuring she got both leaves and roots, before setting it aside to join the other hunters. As the sun begins its decent to the horizon, Ianthe figures it's time to wrap up her work. She scoops up the last of the devil's claw and places them with the rest of their brethren in her satchel.
There's movement in the tall grass ahead, shuffling that she knows has nothing to do with the wind even from her periphery. The smell of lions is strong, and growing stronger with each newcomer. The cacophonous scent of various prides, or lack thereof, which Ianthe has come to associate with the start of a hunt.
Making sure her bag is fully closed, Ianthe moves through the open path in the grass to join them.

Khadija walked through the fields wishing to collect herbs for her own use, now that she lost yet another pride she wasnt able to make a new garden. Any and all hopes for her own stores evaporated. That forced the Abyss female to have to gather more and do so even in places she had been at before.

She studied the land's plants, looking for those she knew were to be used for healing and avoid the opposite spectrum of the herbal world. There she spotted big green leaves, it was a BASIL. Perfect for fever and more illiments. There she started to collect some fo it, for then placing the whole plants on her pouch. Maybe she could replant it later.

But then is when she saw lions on hunting mod. Maybe she could use an snack before continuing her quest. Saying nothing she joined the hunt.

Just when she suspected she might be going to bed with an empty stomach she is delivered a meal. Well not quite yet, but the surest shot she's had all day to try and get something at least. Lions gathered and she with them. Ever wandering eye, trying to spot prey in the distance, begins to find herbs and the like around her she's not noticed before and hasn't realized yet grew here. It's as exciting as the chance for food to the healer. She plucks a few sprigs and tucks them behind her ear. For luck and to remember to come back and gather more when she's had the chance to. Not like she could stop the whole hunt now just to gather up herbs and spices.

Amour's curiosity had only grown since Aeistrios had mentioned the neighboring terrains. She was beginning to realize just how vast this place was, there always seemed to be somewhere new to investigate or something different to do. She loved it, it was such a change of pace from her old home, her old life really. The day was winding down and she found herself among tall grasses, lowering herself so that she could maneuver through and remain undetected. Though she was a curious soul she didn't have any true intentions on a social call this evening. But she wouldn't mind snooping around, especially when there seemed to be a large group of individuals gathered up ahead. Amour would circle in closer but remain on the further outskirts of the fields, her one silver eye focused on the different bodies gathered. It looked like they were gathering for a hunt, and though she could have helped she preferred to stay back and observe. If anything to discover what hunting techniques would be most effective in these lands.

the fields are becoming a favorite - even with the blanket of snow covering the grasses and flowers, it's proving invaluable. herbs dot the landscape and the expanse of it offers more bounties than haven had previously expected. she's been exploring it as the evening sets in, skirting along the edges where the tall yellow grasses brush the base of the freyr peak - looking up at the rising mountain paths and dunes with interest. she's thinking, perhaps, she can find an easier ( less used ) way up the side of the mountain and gather a few mouthfuls of precious, untapped herbs. they were all in high need now, of course, with the winter settling in around their shoulders, but if she's quick and careful, she might find some unused resources.

that is, until the small hunting party begins gathering.

krait's call sends her to the ground, skittering through the grasses like a mouse caught in the sights of a snake. haven carefully finds a patch of snow, deeper than the rest, and manages to roll her thick fur in it, doing her best to dampen the scent of herself and the plains that clings to her coat. and she tucks herself amongst the bottom of the peaks where she can watch, pale grey coat helping her blend into the mix of snow and stone.
