As she stayed tucked away in her hiding spot, she watched as the lions went after their prey. A giraffe was no easy feat, typically, but the jagged cliffside was hard enough to navigate for those with the appropriate anatomy to grasp at the rocks. A large, hooved beast stood little chance. She followed along at a distance if the group moved, continuing to roll in the earth when she was stopped to maintain the disguise of her scent. When it was done, and the lions were able to begin feasting though, she took that as her sign to leave, retreating back the way she’d come. Along the way, she took note of the openings in the rock wall. The dark caves and twisting pathways that one was sure to get lost in. Perhaps she should bring her daughters here some time for a race in the maze. It looked like a good place for some training. -exit- |

It was with a twinge of amusement that Lune had spotted their prey. Sure, she had found the labyrinth's path winding and laborious but she couldn't deny the ironic humor of watching the giraffes stumble along. Crouching down, she scratched her nails against the tan rocks. Waiting for the right moment to attack, for the lions to take on their gangly prey. The moved together as a unit and shoulder to shoulder with her fellow lions, Lune sprung towards the giraffes. The fight was an easy one, with the lions having the advantage not so much solely based on numbers but also on agility. When all was said and done, the lions as successfully taken down a giraffe. Lune scarfed down her allotment before eagerly turning back in the direction she came. She had to go collect her herbs from their hiding spot.

Giraffes were uncommon in such an inhospitable territory for them, their necks clearly sticking above the rocky spires, their light golden pelts a stark contrast to the endless gray and brown that surrounded them. Chasing one along the mountainside had been particularly easy, save for its steeper and more dangerous parts, but their prey were just as hindered as they were through those tumultuous stretches. Eventually, they'd been able to catch up with them, and easily bring them down. They would need to tear apart the prey in multiple pieces, and whatever was left would be for the crows; there was no way even the group of them could drag it down the slope.

He couldn't have picked better prey. Far too large to be scaling the mountainsides, yet too slow to navigate their way down. And Radahn's perch in the deep mountainside had been just right, for when they passed underneath him, he'd been able to leap from his perch and slam down onto its back. It were not enough to bring it down, but his sharp claws grappled onto it tightly, and had assisted in giving the final blows. It were only then that he pried himself away from it, taking a few steps back from the crowd to collect his breath, joining his siblings @Khal and @Yavanna, who had mercifully joined them.

He'd been content to watch. While hunting a giraffe in such an environment seemed like an ideal way to learn, he'd been far too tired from his earlier training, and chastised himself for not waiting for them to arrive. However, he was able to gather information while he watched, eager to see how each of the hunters used their capabilities and strategies to fell such a strange prey in such a strange place. One forepaw curled over the other, and Xavier did not move until they'd finally begun to disperse from the corpse. When they did, he woudl take whatever was left to his pride; only by making sure they were well-fed would they be able to survive what he believed to be a harsh winter to come. Eventually, he grew ambitious, and attempted to use his strength and endurance to drag the entire carcass back toward the Bluffs.

She had told them the bird was greedy. A giraffe was more than any of them could have hoped for in the hunt and she was grateful. The minute the bird had given the signal they had all moved, yavanna switching from tracking the bird to that of their prey as they herded it somewhere it couldn’t truly have hopes of escaping. She had seen Radahn move in a way that she was quite impressed and even as she took her fill for the pride’s storage, she bumped him gently on their way out and he came to join her and khal.

The area around them felt tense, air heavy as many more lions flooded in. She scrutunized them with narrowed eyes, mumling something incoherent under her breath. Their greedy energy must be culled, and if it was up to her they would all disappear.
But let's not get into such details now.
The hunt led them to a creature she never thought she'd test her strength against. A giraffe was more neck than body, almost as tall as the Labrynth's walls. The thing had clearly gotten lost, and its carelessness spelled it's death today.
She feasted greedily, muttering curses in a tongue few would understand. If the men and women around her had a good head on their shoulders, they would steer clear from her. exit
It is a difficult hunt, and it takes some time. Valerian is relieved once the beast’s dangerous hooves were stilled and he moved to take his share, not caring who he had to muscle through to claim it. With a good and hefty chunk of meat in his jaws, Valerian would depart to enjoy his spoils.

The comment of another joining (@Yavanna) is met with a smirk, giving a nod of his head in agreement. As they moved onward would more join them, and soon a giraffe would come into view. He licks his lips, knowing that this would certainly be a feast, and once it was time to act he would chase the giraffe. He'd snap his jaws at its long legs and swipe at them, trying to make it stumble and fall to the ground. It's eventually brought down and he moves toward the belly area, settling down to dig in. There was no need to rush since there was so much to go around, so Saladin laid flat on his belly and began to enjoy his well deserved meal.

She doesn't think too hard about it though, and just enjoys the meal for what it is.
Once she's had her fill, the princess wipes some of the viscera off her muzzle, and moves her gaze from the still-cooling body to the landscape around her. A few more green plants spring up, surprising her, at the mouth of the labyrinth. Actually, those kind of look like nursing herbs...
Ianthe unceremoniously leaves the group and the giraffe, to add just a few more herbs to her already nearly-full bag.
