The sounds of challenge were heard and answered, the blackened yearling walked quietly along the sand bar, wading deeper into the water than necessary to help cover his scent with that of salt and brine. Once back on the shore of the Lagoon he would make his way to the gathering that had formed, two in the center, others circling like vultures. The boy hung back, waiting, attempting to hide in the shadows of the tropical flora and rocks, it was the only place that the boy would be able to blend…and even then…it wasn’t really that great.

He didn’t have to hide forever, just long enough to see who showed. Who knew, maybe Fausty would show up. There was a barter for peace, no blood need to shed today and a part of him was disappointed. It was short lived, the other did not want peace, she wanted power and she would take it. The fight began and Evren settled in to watch and wait.

Alester Valour

The bard had not known anyone from the lagoon nor was he interested in the sandy pride himself. But as a call quietly echoed over the beaches the bard's dark-tipped ears twitched with interest. He did not recognize her voice, why would he? Alester had not seen his sister since they were small.

He had done nothing to hide his appearance nor cloud his scent, wasn't like there was anything to find in it. He was a rogue, a wandering performer who had yet to actually make a profit. His teacher would have been disappointed... The thought brought a smile to his lips as he huffed leaping over a sand pile as he reached the Lagoons formerly quiet borders.

Oh and what a face he made as not only her name (well part of it) was shouted but her dark and golden frame flung itself at a medium-sized brown lioness. Her opponent for the pride. @Diomedeidae was challenging for a pride? Was she trying to make a new Valour stronghold? What stories he could tell! Alester could already hear himself singing of her victory, of her rise to queen. He settled himself in the sand silver eyes focused on the fight a quiet unspoken prayer that his sister would come out victorious and mostly unharmed.

As if she were @Kireena 's shadow, Andraesa follows along, a large bundle of herbs clutched in her mouth with a sort of determined glint in her eyes. It seemed a fight had already begun with the women speaking of claiming and Sovereigns. The girl blinks up at her protector, confused at the terminology.

What do they mean by claim the Lagoon? What are they fighting for, exactly? She directs at Kireena around her thick bundle of leaves and flowers. More lions appear, lingering at the edges of her periphery. This must be a big deal... why else would there be so many lions with so many different scents milling about?

Being as casual as ever, Daneri followed along what she assumed might have been the borders of the pride prior to now. Wandering this invisible line before ultimately crossing it once she felt like it was fair game and since it seemingly belonged to no one, there was no one to officially stop her (yet). Moving through the territory at a scary slow speed, she noticed how trees began to became less obvious and suddenly they were replaced with sand and palm trees.

Leading to a shoreline that had the ocean spread out for miles beyond her sight. It didn't seem like there was a lot to the pride other than the fact that it was a vacation seven days a week. Though, it did seem to house a little watering hole somewhere beyond and within the oasis to which the two women were gearing to fight over the land. As often as she and @Della had wandered into pride challenges, she wondered if this would be just like the one's she had seen where more fighting was inevitable.

faustine was loathe to admit that she forgot to made robin tell her where he would be going. thus, the girl decided to follow him, a shadow following the boy she had plucked from the passage. the ghoul princess only stopped when she realized that robin had went to observe another pride challenge. this time, it was for the lagoon, a place faustine would never stay in unless her lifeline willed her to do so.

going without me? she cooed as she slid against robin, her dark eyes fixed upon his form. there wasn't much lions here yet, so it was easy for faustine to look around. robin's scent by now would smell mostly of wolfbron, mixed in with his own unique scent. she was here now, not just to observe the challenge, but also to make sure nobody else would steal the boy from her watchful eyes.

Come out and play, it’s fun in the dark

The lagoon was allies of the cove and even though Neeha had never been near the other pride's borders before she knew something was wrong. The scent had grown strange, stale, and weak when compared to how strong the bords of her own home were. As if the inhabitants had all just vanished. But why? There had been no large catastrophes as far as Neeha knew, no call for battle or call for challenge. So why were they all just gone?

The cove princess made her way into the pride lands her eyes trying to find some face that looked familiar to how their allies had been described. She found none, at least none she recognized instead the words of another cub caught her attention. She knew @Andraesa had not asked her the question but that didn't stop her from answering as she ploped herself down beside the other cub.

"It means those two are fighting to be Queen of the lagoon" she pointed out lavender gaze on the two fighting lionesses for a moment before she turned her gaze to the other cub. "I'm Neeha!" She beamed a smile on her lips. "So how about some fun? A bet! I think the scarred one is gonna win!" she said her smile turning a bit toothy as she grinned wider. "You think there should be a price for the winner of the bet?" See she'd let the other pick that made it fair and all...

Others appeared, circling, trying to discern who would be the winner and just well…catch up. It seemed that challenges were the main way for the masses to gather and just talk. It didn’t take long for his monster to appear. She would slide up next to him, revealing that he had in fact not picked a great hiding spot- but it was something he ignored for now. He would get better. He would best her one day. Instead, he would lean ever so lightly into her side, a show of comradeship….or maybe a way to put his claim on her. Her cooing voice would melt in his ears, causing him to smirk as he turned his gaze to her mottled face. "Me? Never. I knew you’d be here." He whispered back, tongue snaking out to offer the fleeting kiss on her brow before he sharply turned back to the gathering, if only his fur wasn’t so black, perhaps she would see the blush that colored his cheeks. He hadn’t meant to do that.

faustine didn't miss the way robin pressed against her just enough for there to be anything amiss. in her inexperienced mind, she simply thought the boy was trying to make space for the incoming lions. a strange notion, for it was better he claimed every open position he could before someone intruded them. faustine almost huffed, but her attention was drawn to the two lions in the middle. she realized, just now, that she knew the brown one. they had talked just a month or so ago, down in the tunnels, about their hunts. faustine quite enjoyed hearing another lioness's ventures and victories that now she hoped that woman would win. it wasn't until she felt robin plant his lips against her brow just barely so that she turned. that didn't feel like an accident or anything remotely like that. a frown settled on faustine's face before she attempted to strike robin with her left paw. that wasn't to hurt him, but to warn him to keep his mouth to himself. @Evren

Though Roz would never admit to following @Faustine around Amaryllis, that was exactly what led the teen out of Wolfbron today. Curiosity could not be sated just staying in the Bluffs day in and day out, injuries be damned. And if she was within some sort of proximity to her rescuer captor, she was still somewhat protected, right? Well, it made enough sense in Roz's mind, so she was sticking to it.

Goddamn it, though, she should have thought against it. The longer the thin girl followed the heiress's scent trail through Amaryllis, the more and more she vehemently regretted it. Such a long trek through the lands that by the time they came to a stop, Roz was sore all over. How would she ever make it back to Wolfbron when it was time to go? A problem she'd most willingly shove aside for later as the child's attention was quickly taken up by the growing mass of lions along the shore. This place was quite unlike the Bluffs in that it was flat and sandy, surrounded by water. It was almost kinda nice, but then she noticed the fight brewing and everyone else just sitting around watching. Was that how things went here? Roz wrinkled her nose for no apparent reason as her grey-green gaze simply scanned the scene. Faustine had to be around here somewhere, oh, and there she was, sitting with a boy she recalled seeing around the Bluffs as well. Must be where their pride was supposed to hang, right?

Roz made little effort to approach cautiously or discreetly as she made her way over to the pair. Oblivious to the fact that she might be intruding upon anything, the teen plopped down on Faustine's free side, not close enough to touch, but close enough that it was impossible to ignore her presence. "What's this about?" she drawled, appearing unamused at the scene in front of her before sparing a glance between the heiress and @Evren.

It was the less scarred one who demanded a fight, volatile at the suggestion of compromise. Toblerone would have done the same thing in her place but since she wasn't in the same place she thought this decision was dumb. Take the rank now and kill the High Sovereign in her sleep later. Duh. Both the fighters were stupid though. The brown one stupid for accumulating so many scars, the sea-green one for deciding to take her on.

Toblerone's miffery soured and settled over the source of a few seconds as she listened, ears unwillingly interested, but at the mention of Maua the pink lioness flared. Back arched and long fur bristling, strands rising along her spine, her neck scrunching back to her chest and her chin low set but jaws agape to hiss "Maua!" memories better forgotten; would that Maua had taken memories of Maua. "Maua kidnapped me!" The mist. Ears flattened back. How could anyone worship that thing?

"Fuck Maua," she growled and whipped away, aiming to circle around the fight all trembling and a-stalk, pacing under agitation.
