She was nearly trampled. Melusina had picked perhaps one of the worst resting spots, and there'd been barely enough time when the thundering rhinoceros arrived for her to dodge them. Although she'd been able to run just in time, she'd not been able to rescue most of her herbs, and they were easily trampled by frantic hooves as they thundered by. Disappointment quickly unfurled upon her expression, but the excitement of the hunt quickly drew it away, and the realization that the adrenaline she felt was enthralling quickly causing her to hasten after the group as they passed. She would not catch up in time before they finalized the kill, but she would join them in the reveling aftermath.

He'd nearly fallen asleep by the time they'd called the hunt, foreign words left lingering on his lips as he allowed himself to slip into a blissful cat nap. But quickly did the loud and frantic footsteps of the rhinoceros snap him from his half-consciousness, quickly causing his head to raise and his eyes to glare around, wide and wild. By the time he'd found them among the throng of plants and gnarled trees, however, they'd felled both beasts; and Radahn rose to his paws, deciding the tougher meat were not worth it for him to sneak in and grab some for himself.

His advantage from the trees paid off, and quickly did the rhinos race underneath him. The first had been too fast, too sudden for him; but he could see the second one barreling down, and had timed his pounce just right, so that he landed firmly on its back. The shock of his weight had been just enough to send it tumbling into the murky ground below, and it took everything Xavier had in his strength and endurance to keep from being thrown off in the fray. By the time he emerged, he were bloodied and bruised, but eager to claim his prize.

Hovering low to the ground, Lune watches the huge rhino stumble unknowingly into the lions' game. Pressing herself deeper into the mud, she lets it cake her fur and wiggling forward she further covers herself in the blackish mud to cover her scent, her glow even more. Eyes locked on the prey, everything else fades away until the rhino is its own vignette. Lune leaps forward, keeping pace with her hunting party. Her limbs only a set in a sea of many, and with teeth bared, claw outstretched, she strikes. The rhino's dusty, grey skin is thick but ultimately not a match for the repeated brute force of the lions. The first rhino falls easily. Lune is engrossed in the hunt, but hears the second one fall as well. Lune gorges on her share of the first rhino. Pleased that the reward matches the effort. She does not linger long, eager to cleanse herself of the filth of the bog.

Lungs heaved and eyes were wide as the wildling man stood back to survey what they had done under the darkness of the night of the Bog. It had not been the alligators Khal had scouted for who ended up being the danger here. The massive horned beasts had given even the large group a run for their money by sheer risk he was sure, yet it had given a certain satisfaction to what otherwise could have been a boring day. He caught sight of his little brother once more, now slipping away, and so Khal would take to tear off a chunk for a snack this time, as there was actually plenty to go around this time before following after Radahn from some distance, continuing his mapping of the Bog as best he could as he followed. exit khal

She tosses herself against some nearby thick foliage to further still mask her scent. The air was already thick here with the scent of many lions looking for food. Great if they came across something big, bad if they didn't. Thisbe didn't want to be last in line to get something to eat and so as she began to move she continued monnitoring the tracks, trying to keep towards the head of the party until a kill is made.

And glorious dinner is served. She rumbles a happy content sound as she sneaks in to grab herself something to chow down on and dragged her tired, but happy, self back into the depths of the bog.

Not one, but two hulking rhinos come carelessly lumbering through the bog, bulldozing the swamp's vegetation underfoot. He can feel the ground reverberate with their weight and power as they fearlessly file into the bog.

Their impenetrable, scarred hides are a testament to their strength, and for a fleeting moment, Viggo wonders if the duo is better left alone. But the scene quickly lapses into chaos, one lion after another launching itself at the beasts. He has no choice but to join them, bridging the gap between himself and the quarry within moments.

He singles one out and launches himself at its rear, trying to do damage there in a bid to impair its movement and slow it down. He doesn't know how much time passes before the two beasts lie slain on the swamp floor, but he is exhausted and bloodied. He tries to wrench off a slab of armored meat and drags his claws across a proximate tree, honing them for next time.

Then he takes off, utilizing wearied and aching muscles as he resumes his exercise across the bog.

A rhino barged onto scene and Cassius stared on with wide eyes and a wider grin. He had never seen one this close before. He knew just how dangerous they were and he wondered if perhaps he would see it skewer one of these lions with its horn.
The party was off and so was the dark cub. He climbed down off his perch and darted through the muck to catch up, timing himself to see just how fast he could go. Once he was back onto of the group, Cassius clambered up a slowly dying tree. Both to get out of the way and to get a better look. He watched the beast put up one hell of a fight. He wondered who would tire out first. And to his utter disappointment the lions won. And no one had been gravely injured. Unsatisfied with the results, he climbed back down and departed from the gnawing, tearing, blood soaked lions. He had other things to do he supposed. Like follow this sticky little stream and map his way out of here.

there's a little time for introductions but before imogen can properly introduce herself and stash her herbs away, the prey in question crashes through the bog. the rhino is huge and intimidating and imogen notices the way it throws its horn into the air as it pummels through. with a nervous gulp, the mossy gray lioness stirs into movement. she's careful of its thick, clunky feet and the horns that slash through the air. exhausted from the chase, imogen hardly wants to eat now, content to catch her breath and rest. before long, the medic goes to take her share. she savors each fresh bite, staining her face burgundy. pleased, the cat spares them all a final farewell before bounding back to where they came (the trampled foliage is a easy map) to collect her stored herbs and take them away to prepare for future use.

The numbers who pooled and filed amidst the stank of the bog were rather spectacular, and the yearling found her gaze alight with quiet thrill - her talons easing some of the excitement via their plucking at decaying wood-matter, razor sharp. Soon enough the hunt would ensue, and the plum lioness found her place in the group.

Admittedly, the lioness had her reservations when the massive group tried their luck with a Rhino of all things. It was a long and cruel fight, but she had managed a good swipe at the beasts thigh, and had been present when it finally succumbed to death. Today they eat well.
