Waves crashed, the stark white of the froth startling agains the deep black of the sand. The sand that he blended into nearly perfectly. Tail twitched behind him as he watched the waves, lost in the beauty and power of the sea. He lay with his head resting on his paws, the remnants of his last meal (a crab claw) slightly protruding from the sand next to them. He wasn’t a fan of sea food, but a meal was a meal and being on his own for the first time…it was something. Something was always better than nothing. Black eyes, dark as the abyss itself, watched, half closed, entranced one might say.

Really, he was lost in his mind. Had he made the right decision? His mom and dad had told he and his siblings many things about Ama and his dad had slipped more knowledge to him when they found out he was really coming back. The youth was no warmonger- not like his father. He’d never live up to his father in that regard, but maybe…just maybe…he could do more than just survive here- like his father and mother had…maybe…he could thrive? Tail flicked against his flank, methodically. He missed them. He missed their stories, their rough affection and harsh lessons. He was home sick…even though Evren had finally returned home- back to Ama. How was that possible?

The boy would yawn, jaws widening only to snap shut with a shake of his skull, he should be off, but he merely found himself dipping back into that same trance-like state looking out over the waves. He was fairly well camouflaged here…maybe he would just sleep here, or make his way to the shadows of the cliff and sleep. He had no reason to go further than this, not today.

SALADIN

It had been weird at first, being on his own. He and his brothers knew that their parents were taking a temporary leave, but did he really think his brothers would follow that same line, too? Saladin had stayed back in Andal, keeping their familial den. But whenever the challenger for the pride had won, he had decided then and there that he were going to leave and venture out into the open expanse known as Amaryllis. He was nearly a year old and the boy hadn't even made it past the desert, for crying out loud. He had been sheltered, but not anymore - he would make a name for himself one day.

Too large paws for his body travel over the blackened sand, in awe of how it was this color. Two toned eyes were transfixed on it, so much so that he didn't even realize he were happening upon @Evren until it was too late. "Oh- oomph!" He stumbles over his sibling's body and tumbles over him in a summersault, landing flat on his back. Letting out a hiss, he stares at what he had tripped over upside down, and once he realized who it was he lets out a playful growl. "Way to get in the way," he mutters as he rolls her, now laying on his underbelly and slapping a paw toward Evren's back. "Where have you been? It's been just me and I thought you all had left."

Just as lost in thought as his sibling, he didn’t hear the approach, but he certainly felt it. Heavy paws would step on him, a form tumbling over him into the sand on the other side. Fur bristled as he quite literally jumped into the air, only to land on in his belly with paws splayed and black eyes wide. Lips began to instinctively curl back with a growl rumbling in his throat in response to the hiss he heard, until realization sank in. Saladin! It was his brother. At that moment his muscles relaxed and his ears came forward, the snarl turning into a cheeky, happy, grin. His brothers playful blame was met with a snort. "Pfft. More like you got in my way." He countered back lamely. He’d never been good at comebacks, but he tried.


Salad lay on his belly parallel to him, slapping a paw at his back. Evren rolled slightly so that he could playfully swat back at his brother. For a moment it was forgotten that he and his other siblings had chosen to follow their parents, @Saladin had been brave and stayed behind. He had made the right choice, they hadn’t. Of course, when it was mentioned, the smile would fade and his ears would fall back guiltily. They had left him behind. "I followed mom and dad for awhile…I haven’t been back long." There was sorrow in his voice, regret even, if one could distinguish such emotions, but the boy did not look down from the gaze of his sibling. He wanted Salad to know he was sorry. "We shouldn’t have left you, Salad…Im sorry…" He hesitated, unsure what else to say about the matter. "You look like you’ve done okay though…better than me." He tried to joke, noting how his body was thin and his brothers was definitely not thin. Evren hand’t had it easy on the journey back, but he would fatten up now that he was with Faustine in the Bluffs.

SALADIN

He gives a playful snap of the jaws toward the paw @Evren struck out toward him, letting out a boyish giggle while the two laid there soaking in each other's company. Saladin had missed having his brothers around; being alone in the sense of no family that he knew of did take a toll on his mental health, even if he didn't realize it until now. It felt so good to have his sibling back here again. And then the conversation turned serious and he'd give a simple nod to his brother's words, an ear flicking while he stayed silent.

It wouldn't be until Evren mentioned it looked as though he were doing well by himself that Saladin would let out a grunt, tail swishing behind him. "You could say that." A lot had happen in a short time, one being him no longer being apart of the pride he was born in - one his parents had taken the helm of before they had left. "Andal has changed rulers a couple times since you left. I left myself after the last one, a woman named Helah rules it now last I heard." Saladin wasn't exactly sure why he'd taken his leave once the woman had won, but something deep inside his mind told him that it was time for him to go - no matter the pain of it all.

After a couple of moments of falling silent, the yearling's nose begins to sniff at the air, catching something a bit different than just his brother's familiar scent. "What's that?" He begins to question, crawling a little closer to his brother while still sniffing. "Are you in a pride?" As he asks the question he is fully able to see Evren's form and what shape he was in, lips pulling into a thin line. "They sure don't seem like they're feeding you well," comes the offhanded comment.

Playful snap would miss his paw, but the two would laugh about it all the same. The two fed off one another, both happy to be in the others presence and both soaking up every second of it. Of course, their conversations would never stay light and wonderful, but that was the nature of things, joking one second and serious the next. His brother would grunt, as if uncomfortable but Evren could tell something was off, his head tilted, brow raising. Seeking more information but unwilling to say anything just yet.

He went on to explain that he’d stayed with Andal as it changed rulers a few times, until a woman had taken over. He nodded his head slightly. "Was she a bad ruler?" He asked, wishing to learn about the pride he had been born into. "What happened to Scorpius?" He questioned, wondering if he knew where the young adult had went to after being defeated. Dad had put so much faith into the younger fighter, had it been for nothing?

He’d been busy asking questions, he hadn’t noticed that his brother had caught the scent of the pride that he now belonged to. That is, until his brother brought it up. For a moment he froze, but then nodded. Snorting at the comment. "I just joined, I wasn’t feeding myself, asshole." He huffed, as if wounded by the comment. "It's Wolfbron. That’s my new home." He explained, hesitating for a moment, "but they know me as Robin, not Evren." His tone had turned serious, a warning, not to call him by his real name when they weren’t alone. He wanted his secret kept for as long as he could… although he still wasn’t sure why. He would shift, uncomfortable in the moment.
