Renfri was in rough shape, and ideally she wouldn’t have wanted her daughters to see her in such condition. The wound from where her rear limb had been removed was still raw and fresh, but thankfully had healed enough to no longer be at risk of reopening. The bite marks on the back of her neck were pink, and she could practically feel the scar tissue forming there. This was how their world was, and she would rather they learn from seeing her before being thrown into it themselves, and hopefully once they saw her rough shape they would understand why she hadn’t come sooner. She found a spot in the soft swaying grasses to sit before letting out a call for her girls. The spot she had selected wasn’t too far from her former home, and while she knew Seifri was around, she hoped she would be able to catch all four girls in the area. There was quite a bit to discuss with them, and from what she had gathered from her brief reunion with Setri and Seifri during the challenge, it didn’t seem like their father had shared much information with them regarding her whereabouts. Part of her was irritated they had been left in the dark, but the other was glad that she would have the first chance to set the narrative with them. It made her job of proving Aeistrios as the worst parent that much easier.@Seifrienriosa @Setri @Siofera @Aerith |
She hadn't separated from @Renfri after finding her - glued to her side, with every step or movement of her body, Seifri was right there. A shadow looming behind her, despite the tiny size of her silhouette. When Renfri made the summons for her siblings, she perked up some as she settled at her Mother's chest, leaning back into her slightly with a soft hum from her lips. She was curious what her siblings might seek to do with all of this information she was sure they would get.
it's a long, hard trek for the former princess, but one she undertakes gladly.
by the time she arrives ( late, of course ), her features are pinched together in pain and weary anger. between the raid and the meeting and the Challenge... there were so many questions, and not enough answers. never enough answers. not only had her mother left them behind to move to vermada, but she'd never come to collect them -- after the meeting with reah, there'd been little time to do anything. and not only did her father lose the challenge, but he'd left them. she moves with little grace now, having come to the end of her stamina and her rope -- glancing at her sisters with something close to guilt, though she swallows that emotion down. that anger waS EASY ENOUGH TO GRAB HOLD OF, TO DIG HER FINGERS IN AND NEVER LET GO. with a pointed little huff, her haunches flop onto the soft grass -- seating herself before her sisters and her mother. peering up at @Renfri, dull fire sparkling in her eyes.
she'd get her answers, one way or another.
and she wasn't leaving her without them.
Renfri had wanted to go deeper into the Plains to collect her children herself when the fighting had been done, but there had been no way to do that without risking bringing more harm to herself, and possibly them as well. There had been plenty of enemies there, all likely looking for a reason to spill Saxe blood, and she wasn’t in a position to test her luck at the moment. She waited for a while, and finally @Aerith arrived where she already waited with Setri and @Seifrienriosa. She looked out, hoping to spot Siofera, but the other girl was nowhere to be seen. Her stomach twisted, but she would have to find her other daughter later. “I am sorry I could not come for you sooner. I was taken prisoner at the raid, and when I was released, my injuries were too great for me to return right away.” She rose to her paws, turning so that each child could see the still raw flesh from where her leg had been removed. It was just healed enough to not be at risk of reopening easily. “You will all come with me, and be Royalty in the Brook as you were prviously in the Plains.” This part was not up for debate, but she would answer any questions that they had, as she was sure they would be upset by all of the sudden change. |
Little legs made for a long hike, but eventually Siofera made it to the family gathering. Made it in time to see the extensive damage done to their mother and for her fur to bristle at the realization. Not in fear, mind, but in irritation. Who would do such a thing? Who? she asked simply. She would make note of their name, that was certain.
She brightened considerably at the mention of being royalty again. It was only fitting for them. And one day, when she was a bit older (though not any bigger, most likely, as she would be quite distraught to find), she would have even more. She admittedly didn't know a thing about this Brook, but she would, in time.
So many things were uncertain, unknown, and Seifri might have felt lost if she wasn't so assured by her Mother of their stability. Renfri would never let them suffer. She notes @Aerith , as well as @Setri , and @Siofera . All her siblings, here. They weren't stuck in the Plains - the only home they'd known.
How bittersweet that was.
"The Summit, I bet."
Seifri rumbles in response to her sister's question - having been at the raid herself to witness it. Hearing they'd be royalty in the Brook, however, stole her attention and she nodded before peering at her sisters. Standing a bit taller, she says nothing else while awaiting to be shown the way to their new home.
Not that she didn't already know it.

she wants answers, and she gets them. a shame, then, that aerith never considered that knowledge might be something she didn't truly want. she listens intently as @Renfri speaks, her explanation curt and to the point. instead of lorien, the place of their birth and their father's previous reign, they would move to vermada brook -- the very place of the raid that had almost taken their mother away. but, they would be moving there as royalty, with renfri holding onto a crown of her own. bi-colored eyes shine, delighted ( and burning with pride ) that her queen-mother was still just that.
their father might have lost, but their mother never would. as the small group takes their exit she too follows suit, tired paws lagging behind. but there's determination in those pretty features, now -- eager to see her new home, their new home, and to see what they would make of it. exit to vb |
@Siofera was the last to arrive, but it was a relief to see that she did finally make her way over, that her delay had not been caused by some sort of trouble or danger. Thankfully her explanation was met with understanding, and not anger or outrage over their temporary abandonment. She had done the best she could, and her daughters seemed to understand that. Renfri would never willing leave them behind, not like Aeistrios had. “His name is Aquila. He did significant damage to my limb in the raid, and because I was a prisoner in the Summit, I was not able to see a healer to have the wounds treated in time for my leg to be saved.” She answered her daughters question with the truth, but left out their father’s involvement in the whole ordeal. She stood then, gesturing for them all to come with her. If they had more questions, she would answer them once they were home. -exit- |
