No fights in progress
Tinúviel had been equally restless, but the grief were only a sliver of it.
Experienced as she was taking care of other's newborns, the ruthlessness of her own had been an entirely different beast. Desperate she had become to get any wink of sleep, but it was evidenced in her tired eyes and gaunt cheeks that she had been resoundingly unsuccessful. But each and every determined little paw pressing against her belly and insistent mewling through the night reminded her of all that she had gained, all that she had fought so hard to have and finally had. But she felt as if she could not share in her joy, in the quiet victories that she celebrated in private. There was still an air of melancholy that lingered in the Lagoon, and Tinúviel would dare not touch it.
She was desperate to escape the confines of her den while her newborns slept away the early morning hours. Soft chuffs interrupted her promenade, and she turned in its direction; it were not longer before @Dagge came into view. Attempting a gentle smile, the healer-Queen trudged forward through the sand, and aimed to bump her head against the Gentry's chin in a reassuring manner; thankful that he was here to provide for them, thankful he'd been a steady presence in all of this unraveling.

Carina knew that she wouldn't be as big of a help as she normally might have been. The days seemed to slip by and she hardly recognized when she was supposed to sleep and when she was supposed to be awake. Minutes melded into hours into days, Carina never the wiser as she moved through the Lagoon and stopped when she found @Dagge and @Tinúviel. She did her best to appear friendly but it was clear that her mind was foggy and drowning constantly in the sorrows that she couldn't quite voice. With her anchor gone, she felt hollow.

Hyperion had woken up earlier that morning to scout, to refresh the borderline scents that became too faded, and to ensure nothing fishy was heading their way that morning. He had been out for at least an hour when he heard @Dagge's chuffs, so he had no issues with dropping what he was doing for a bite to eat. Casting one more glance passed their borders, to the sands that went on, to the blurring, steaming air beyond as the August sun started to rise and bake them below. He couldn't see anything beyond, so he turned and followed the path towards Dagge and those who had already gathered.
Closer to where the group was, there was a stronger scent of something nearby. He noted @Carina looking... well, not her best. He remembered seeing her regard him at the meeting, and well, he broke boundaries a little by sliding up next to her - his body just slightly touching hers (if she allowed it). "Hey," he spoke to her, in a low tone. He offered her a smile, too, but he didn't think it was his place to pry into her life and ask why or how she was feeling.

With an inhale she nodded her head and tried to break the gentle connection if only to focus on what had brought them here to begin with. Quickly did her mind move in and begin and end their hunt with success. A rhinoceros calf that would surely hold them up for a good week or so, and in the rush of the excitement she looked up and expected to see Tiamat with them but was quickly reminded that she wouldn't be seeing her.
Carina stayed around the kill for as long as she could and attempted to help, but any help that came from her was lacking in her general spirit. When she felt like crumpling, Carina looked to her peers to find some strength because that was what her friend would have wanted. To keep going and to allow her children the chance to truly live. exit carina

For what small hunting party they had, bringing down the rhinoceros calf was particularly easy. Whether they were all simply experienced, driven by the weight of their anguish, or the rhinoceros calf were simply sickly and weak; the success of the hunt was a brief and immediate thrill. But it were not enough to stave away the heavy air that lingered between them. And however much the healer-Queen wished to stay and share in their comforts, she could already hear the call of her newborns in the nearby distance, mewling and whining for milk. Thus, she quickly and sorrowfully excused herself, traipsing back toward the dark depths of her den.

A rhino calf.
Moving forward, they tracked it as a group until they found it upon the Lagoon's sands. And taking it down was a challenge, but it wasn't impossible. When the calf lay still in the sand, Hyperion took his share and lingered as well, offering to lend a paw in carrying it back to the pride stores. /exit
