Lucien had holed himself up for a while after his failed attempt at takin' back the Plains. He wanted his body to heal thoroughly, even if that meant he went near mad starin' at the same walls within his den. Once he was fit as a fiddle again he was movin' right on out and back to venturin' Amaryllis. He allowed for his paws to carry him without much thought, golden eyes observin' his immediate surroundin's to keep himself aware enough to notice if anyone or anythin' tried to rush him. And as he pushed through the many thick vines that made up the thicket, the all too familiar scent of prey began to tickle his nose, causin' for him to now move in that direction and let out a call to any others nearby that wished to help take down a meal.

She didn't often wander this far to the north, keeping more to the southern portions of Amaryllis. But there were endless areas in which to search for her sister, or so it seemed, and when she had the spare time she allowed herself to venture into areas more unknown.

The last thing she was expecting was a call for a hunt, and by someone she actually recognized no less. The former sovereign of the Plains, ousted along with Violarum when the plum idiot and his cackling hens had taken the throne by force. She had been there when this man had tried to take back the Plains and lost, and she couldn't help but wonder if - and hope that - there might be another attempt in the future.

She joined him in the undergrowth of the thicket, the scent of prey thick in the air, and crouched down. As she did so, her claws found a piece of wood and she quietly dug into it, sharpening her weapons in preparation for the hunt.

Has she ever wandered into a place this dense? She doesn't think that even the verdant greens and plentiful flowers of the jungle had been as out-of-control as this thicket, where the thick ferns and the tangled vines nearly choked out even the sunlight above. It's beginning to make Maven feel a bit claustrophobic.

But right when the abyssal girl thinks she might take her leave, a call for a hunt bids her to stay, drawing her even deeper in through curiosity and her sheer inability to leave a call for aid unanswered. She pushes her way through the undergrowth as carefully as she can manage, landing a dubious gaze upon the two golden strangers she's stumbled upon. Was hunting even feasible in this maze?

"Maybe..." Pessimistic though that thought is, it does drum up something of an idea, and Maven shifts around quietly, reaching up to try to drag down some vines and pull their lengths taut in the low space between the trees. "Maybe, we can trip the prey, if we chase them through here?" She suggests with a tilt of her head, looking again towards @Lucien and @Tiamat for a sign of approval or disapproval.

It's the call for a hunt that draws Viveka away from her wanderings and into the damned maze of greenery, the young Rike spurred on by the thrill of violence and lured in by the promise of tasting warm meat upon her tongue. She presses through the thick undergrowth with only the minimal amount of care necessary to ensure that she would neither tear her dark coat upon the thorns nor scare off the prey that surely must be lurking somewhere the thicket's depths.

She approaches the others with a low huff, regarding them out of the corner of her eye with a narrowed gaze. She doesn't bother hiding the way her lips curl in a patronizing sneer at the dark-furred yearling who suggests crafting a trap for a quarry, her chin tilting upwards too high in the air to be anything other than haughty. Foolish girl.

A skilled huntress knew how to get by using only their claws and teeth. What could taking shortcuts possibly prove?

she hides within the foliage of the thicket, ignoring the way burrs and thorns cling to her underside. the greenery of the grove seemed to flourish in the summer breeze and imogen is distracted by herbs and flower petals as she approaches. almost submissively, her head bows between her thin shoulders as she approaches the strangers. imogen is cautious, though wide eyes fall over each and every feline present, her ears twisting in regard as she listens to them speak. as foreign as they are to her, instinct tells her that they are all hungry and starvation begs her to shed her shell of anxiety, if only to find something to fill the deep void in her belly.

The nomad had left the coast, wandering through Amaryllis like a ghost with no bounds. She found herself within the Grove now, particularly the Thicket, and she had been scouting it for a good bit. It wasn't long until she noticed the scent of prey in the air. Not only that but the scent of a few lions too, all of them were strangers of course but she didn't want to act too shy.

Besides, she was kind of hungry.

She would remain silent though as she approached the group. Most of the individuals were women but one was a brute that was of a dun color.

The male slips and slides his way easily through the tangle of trees, roots, and undergrowth. It is clear in his movements that such entanglements were not foreign to him. But then the male had tempted many different biomes during his existence. Besides, being sure footed always made these treks easier.

Occam caught the scent of many lions and somewhere among them there was also the pungent smell of prey as well. The half maned lion ended up joining the group in silence. He listened to the offering of ideas but mostly waited to see who would be the one to get this started.

Well, getting food certainly was an idea. It was what had drawn the small sorrel roan female away from her usual perch in the fields and deep into the thicket. When she heard the call, she found herself intrigued. Even more so when it proved to be not quite a pride that had gathered, but a rather mixed group.

Pointed ears quivered slightly. There were scents she could tell were prides, but some were not. A small nod was given in greeting as she was slinking through the tangle to come up near @Lucien, looking up at him briefly, giving a small chuff before her gaze wandered, waiting.

Amethyst Grove was still and humid that day, with a haze that lingered nearest its moister parts - like the Bog. However, she tried to steer clear of that area, and instead went towards the Thicket, where the growth was thick and heavy. Leaves and branches combed her fluffy fur as she moved through them, squeezing through some areas so tight that she probably left some fur behind. Valaine wasn't concerned with that, though. She just wanted to get lost in the bramble and find a good napping spot.

But that went quickly out the window when she heard the chuffs of a nearby lion. Pausing in her tracks, she looked over towards the sound and considered ignoring it completely and going back to what she was doing... but then again, she shouldn't pass up the opportunity to obtain an easy meal.

Flicking her tail, she slipped through the trees and its brush, trying her best not to rustle anything and choosing her steps wisely as she joined the small group of lions. She hadn't noticed her sister among them right away, even as she settled among them. She caught the tail-end of something @Maven said, and looked toward the two that she seemed to ask for validation.

"Or vee coul't just kill it vis our claws an' teez," (teeth) she added, rolling her eyes at the young lioness. Get crafty when we're not on top of a cliff, dumb girl.

He was merely passing through when he heard the chuff for more 'help' for a nearby hunting party. This made Poltergeist stop in his tracks, simply because he was always around for an easy meal. And it simply wouldn't settle right with him if he passed this opportunity up. So, pivoting himself, he made a beeline straight for the call, squeezing through the tight foliage and bramble, and trying to not make noise as he did so.

Passing by a strong-smelling and leafy plant, he rubbed against it a bit to pick up its earthy scent, to hopefully cover his own citrus-like scent from standing out too much among the group. He'd hate to spook the prey.

Coming upon them, he crouched down among the brush and yawned, waiting for the signal to begin. For the mean time, he lifted his nose to the air and began trying to decipher what kind of creature they were tracking.
