halimede.
@Aideen was not spared the time to reply back to Halimede's playful suggestion before her daughter was nearly bowled over by another yearling. With Halimede standing in such close proximity, it were a miracle @Sawyer too didn't ram into her, or knock Aideen into her. Frustration crinkled in her nose—didn't you see me here, talking to her?!—but such a situation had happened before, and Halimede recalled with perfect clarity the way an Andal had attacked Aideen before for carrying the scent of Wolfbron.
Halimede half-debated shrugging it off, chalking it up to Aideen's choice in pride and letting her daughter suffer the consequences. But after all she had endured, all the loss she had suffered, the sandcat was intent on not losing this one thing. This one person.
Thus, a single paw raised, and Halimede attempted to bear it down on top of Sawyer's head as she sought to headbutt Aideen. It was less of an outright attack and more of an attempt to thwap!, her claws sheathed and her strength held back. Her eyes were narrowed, brows crinkled at the center, an expression of get back, get back written across her face. Off limits!
she cried out, huffing and puffing and pouting.
Ugh, she thought, what would Leander do here? Would he have dragged Aideen and Laerra to live with them in the Oasis, no ifs, ands, or buts?

Fights had already broken out, and he observed the clashing bodies with detached curiosity - the only one he recognized on sight was the elaborately patterned woman who had met him at the borders when he'd come to seek shelter within the pride. With a hum of interest, he ascended a low rise where he could better observe the events below. Dusk crawled up the horizon, swallowing the sun and the warmth, but it was not yet unbearable. If the challenge had been made earlier in the day, it was more likely he would have avoided it, but his perch just outside the borders was comfortable enough at such an hour.
Sébastien was not aware of the long-standing tension between the two prides, or their past, but every battle was an opportunity to learn. Violence had a way of revealing one's less civilized side.

Sounds of battle ring out across the lands, it drew in many other lions to watch and see the possibility of a power overhaul, even the duel faced chimera wasn't special, she too made her way through the Badlands, eyes sliding up to look upon where she had saved a life, and her ears pin back against her skull as she remembers the recent encounter with that same lion she'd saved that day.
She makes her way to the edge of Andal, eyes takking in the scene before her, the yellow orbs slide over faces until she lands on one familiar lion, her skin immediatly rises with goosebumps, she notes the MIre lions next to him, and she is realizing all too suddenly the missing pieces of the puzzle she had not wanted to solve just yet.
Solanum would tear her eyes away, willing herself to unsee what lied before her, she'd willingly fell into the arms of the enemy, and guilt burned through her like red hot iron.
(Cala and I have a pre-planned plot and she gave permission for Keligan's pp in this post.) |
"Adult targets like you?" She checked with narrowed eyes and a testy sneer. This was when that great figure loomed at her side, large as Scorpius yet red like blood. Minerva glanced at her with evident surprise, unfamiliar with who she would learn was a new recruit. "Rise to this," was her challenging vow, igniting a sputtering flame within the young cat as she stretched her mouth into a wide grin. Emboldened, enraged, the blonde Miroslav glanced at the rest of their crowd in searching. There in the center lurked a lioness around her own stature, though even more heavily scarred and evidently revered by how they flocked to her sides.
"You," she chuffed the summons, sidestepping to give the other Andalian space as she folded herself into a defensive crouch. "This is your last warning to get the fuck out."

OOC: Oops, so sorry! Didn’t see Halimede had been talking to Aideen! The heat of battle is quick to rise. As her head finds contact with the girl’s side, Sawyer feels fangs sink into her shoulder and a pain like no other rushes through her body. She’d gotten scraped before, she’d stubbed her toes more times than she could count. But this…this was different. This was terrifyingly real. Before Sawyer could react, a large paw comes and BONKS her on the head. The world is spinning, and the yearling falls onto her butt. She blinks up at @Halimede, whose anger is palpable and her expression fierce. Suddenly, the scent of Andal hits her, and Sawyer knows that she’s done wrong. “I’m…” the guilt, the shame, all of her emotions bloom on her face as she looks between mother and daughter, “I’m so-sorry.” She’d failed. She’d attacked a pride mate’s cub. How would that reflect on her, on Elswyth? Was Scorpius going to kick them out? @Aideen

+5 (10) Observe a fight (Helah vs. Scorpius)
Someone came barrelling in to intercept the fight, and Dysnomia immediately backed off to give her space. Dys felt eyes on her, then heard a chuff. She was mildly surprised to see it was @
She raised an eyebrow in silent curiosity at the mention of maiming and eating, and cannibals. How interesting. She'd never heard that particular story from her brother, but then she wasn't inclined to take the word of a stranger, and one who attacked a child, over that of family anyway. Seemed like the sort of thing Xerxes would've mentioned before now, after all.
Now the main event would begin, and Dysnomia turned her attention to it as the reigning king made his way in, ordering them to go. Like she was going to leave while the rest of the Bluffs lions were still here, and she wasn't even trespassing. So she ignored the threat in favor of keeping an eye on the battles that were already raging, waiting to see if more would spring up.
And just like that, her mother intervenes and the yearling is backing off. Aideen huffs loudly. "Mooooom." She whines. "I can fight her. She's smaller than me!" She huffs again, glaring at her mother, before glaring at the yearling. "Gah mom." She breathes. "I gotta fight someone."
"I'd have won." She said to the yearling, and huffed again, before looking to her mother and frowning at her injury, before speaking back to @Sawyer. "Rematch anytime. Without Mom interrupting." She said, almost kindly. "I'm super strong, so you'll learn lots." And arrogant too.
But her attention then fixates on @Halimede. "Who hurt you?" She demands- wondering where @Laerra was, but knowing that surely her sister was being a super lead scout somewhere nearby- but she needed to know that someone had attacked their mom.
