Apparently, Talisa had a habit of tracking down calves specifically. No more than a week ago, she had found a giraffe calf wandering the summit but now she had stumbled upon two elephant calves. At least they weren't adults and she wouldn't have to go home telling Morrigan how she had stumbled upon one of her worst nightmares. Hello, she greeted quietly to any of the lions that were present and within range to hear her voice. Eyes lingered a few seconds longer on the dark-furred @Maven and was appreciative of her Illyrian company. Especially grand when she noticed that her own granddaughter had joined and gave a quiet hello as she sidled up beside them.

Then, of course, one of the hunters from the Brook that she vaguely recognized -- giving a nod to @Raizel and glad to have so many friendly faces and new faces join them. If you are of large stature, your best to be the finishers. If you would care to wait off to the sides until the beasts are directed to any of you, feel free to strike. You're not obligated to fill that role, of course, if you would rather be a chaser. That being said. Just as with those of a smaller stature, while we are typically built more for speed -- if you would rather assist in the finish, you may. I will lead those to chase around the freeze's plains and we will begin to round them in this direction for the finishers.

Talisa waited a few moments before letting them decide what role they wished to partake in before Talisa began to move out. Moving along whatever cover she could find before bowing her body down until she gave the signal to take flight. One by one that soared around the elephant calves as they trumpeted their fear, likely calling for back up that would never come. The two could not find a way out quick enough and soon enough, they were swarmed and downed.

Thank you, she addressed to those gathered that had taken to following her direction, feel free to take what you can. There is enough not to fight over it. Bowing her head, she silently made her own popular prayer. Talisa wished to overlook what would be left of the calves and should there be any, she would most certainly leave with some back to the Summit. exit talisa

@Mircea joins himself and @Constantine, and Valerian is pleased to have kin by his side - he always was. As it seemed though, a particular woman was ready to take the lead on this hunt and Valerian was not one for small-talk. He fell readily quiet to listen to the plan. Being tall and not fleet in any capacity, Valerian is comfortable to lay the ambush with the others. He moves as directed with an obliging nod. Valerian was accustomed to teamwork.

The plan is flawless, and their prize for it is two elephant calves. Valerian does his duty and assists the others in taking down the large beasts, content that there would be plenty to go around. He stands panting and bloodied at the end of it all, happy to take his share. “Thank you.” he rumbles to the participants before turning his attention to the other two Savante.

“Help me take this to the Hollows.” he rumbles - not really a request, but about as polite as Valerian would get. He set about busying himself securing a good haul to bring home.

The red giant watched as @Talisa took control of the hunt - which suited her just fine. Her gaze passed over those that had gathered. None familiar to the Andallan - but she found some at least intriguing in view. When the time came, she knew exactly where it was she would be and - being a thicc gorl herself.. Kireena happily took on the position of bruiser. With the help of the others, the two calves fell and she knew that there would be more than enough to go around. "Thank you.." She murmured to those present before the druid closed her eyes and sent her own prayer with the animal. One ddn't take a life without thanking it for the snackrifice. She removed enough for herself - and some to take back to Andal before gathering her own spoils - the lioness intended to return in a few days once the carrion had been picked clean - to come collect a few bones for herself. With a final nod towards the others, she would turn and head for home. //Exit Kireena

The Sovereign's call has drawn a fair bit of attention, it seems. More than Maven is used to, quite honestly, but it helps that they're all united in a specific cause.

The yearling resolves to keep her attention trained forward, though a quiet greeting would pull her crimson gaze towards another girl, even darker in color than Maven herself. "Hello." She returns, offering @Analía a tentative smile that tugs her dark lips over her lengthy fangs. "You're from the forest, aren't you? Over there?" She guesses when a hint of pine curls against her nostrils, tail flicking vaguely towards where Vermeda might sit on the other side of the mountain range. A place she's only seen from a distance but wouldn't mind learning more about.

@Talisa's voice would draw Maven's attention back to the matter at paw, however, and she would listen intently to the older woman's instructions, deciding rather quickly that she would prefer to be one of the ones giving chase. "I'll run with you." She asserted quietly, mostly managing to disguise how dubious she felt about their challenging prey once she'd finally caught sight of their thick grey hides.

What was with all the miniatures they kept finding?

Well, it all ends well enough, at least. A bit winded, the girl would sit back to measure her breaths while the others took what meat they'd earned, before she finally moved in to scoop up whatever she could manage to carry. One last nod would be given to the young melanistic woman of the Brook, before Maven turned to head back to the Summit, trailing more slowly in the Sovereign's pawsteps while she studied the elevated paths in an attempt to commit the route to memory.

They've found themselves something of a challenge this time, it seems. Elephants calves don't exactly make for easy prey, though the apparent absence of any formidable adults certainly pushed their odds into the hunters' favor. Regardless, Mircea is pleased to have his kin at his side for this. He knows they can be relied upon, at least, though he would have little difficulty admitting that the woman leading this hunt certainly seemed to know what she was doing.

The colossal beast is more than happy to join the ambushing party, and with a silent nod, he moves to take his place alongside Valerian and the others, absent-mindedly scraping his claws against rough stone while he lied in wait.

It's not an effortless endeavor, but it is a successful one. Mircea's muscles ache in the aftermath of it all, his chest heaving still from the exertion it took to wrestle one of the beasts to the ground. But it's a pleasant ache - one he can take pride in.

Wordlessly, the dappled beast acquiesces to his nephew's request, stepping in to gather up what meat he could carry from the hefty carcasses. Another nod is given to @Constantine, his pale tail sweeping in something like an inviting gesture as he turned away towards the path to home.

Because of course the latest arrival of the Savante would always be welcomed into the Hollows.

Raizel waited patiently as more arrived behind her before @Talisa spoke of the hunting plan. The targets were some elephant calfs. The smaller lions would be the chasers and the larger lions would take down the baby beasts. Ears pinned back as she readied herself to drive forward. Waiting for the signal, she launched for the chase once it was given. The animals were taken down with ease due to how many lions were working together on this day. It was successful and she would have a full tummy. Once everyone got their share, Raizel took a small piece to take back home with her for Darcy to share with. Nodding to Talisa, she made her way back to the Brook.

Constantine smiled when he saw the family join the hunt. Eyes of humble brown rested on the frames of both @Mircea and @Valerian, cousins of his. He was happy he and his mother did the right thing in coming to these lands. But since they were to focus on the present event he left his wish to catch up with them for later as it was time to help the ladies with this task.

That's how they ended up with two calves and with the amount of lions and some of them of a good size, they perished quickly and without much suffering. He helped and even though he wasn't asked about it he went to help his cousins with bringing this to their pride. He would never deny his family his help. exit

It was certainly a strange new feeling to be a part of a hunt that was not specifically catered to an individual pride. This was only her third time doing a hunt that wasn't just Vermedan's but at least this one had family leading it. Analia continued to try and get an idea as to what the beast was that they were hunting but she wasn't as good at hunting as her sister was. Eisa had always been so good at everything (at least to her) that it was no surprise that she was a masterful huntress. So to honor her sister's experience she studied the scent as best she could. Denoting its lack of perfume in lieu of what smelled like pine and earthen tones, a scent that she thought was almost nice until she saw what it was.

Two elephant calves that had stumbled upon the icy shores of the freeze and who most certainly would not be having any fun today. Perhaps lost from their parents, she felt for them but understood the circle of life and the blessings that Maua and Vellen offered them. I am, yeah. She offered quietly to @Maven in response to her question, Vermeda Brook. Just to give the yearling a specific name in case she truly did not know it and said forest because that was all she knew. There wasn't a whole lot more to be conversed about, though, as her grandmother began to express the roles that everyone should take.

Analia was one of the larger in stature but she didn't quite feel the brewing confidence that she should to be the finisher, so instead opted to take a step closer to her grandmother to show that she would be there with her. The hunt was tedious and taxing but the wound up coming out of it with both calves downed. Leaving Analia to rip a piece off to bring back to Vermeda, giving a nod to the one's she had interacted with in a clear goodbye before scampering off. exit analia
