Summer
The summer season has finally reached its peak. The sunshine is plentiful, the days are long and the air is hot and humid - but the evenings do not seem to provide the same relief that they once had, and remain somewhat stuffy. Thunderstorms have also began appearing more frequently, particularly in the rainforest and eastern region, though the rain is welcomed after a relatively dry season thus far.

There was a respite in the weather as the rain stopped for a while after a night soaking the lands. The morning had been a bit dark but near early afternoon the sun started to peek though the clouds. It was during this time that the small lady decided to leave the den and soak up some of that sunshine. Laying in it she purred loudly and contentedly though she was sad that Arachnae would never feel such bliss. The warmth of her cub was nice as she laid there on the stone just outside of the den she shared with @Raizel.

The pink lioness had left earlier that morning to go hunting. The pair found the den last night and Raizel knew that the hard rock wasn't going to be comfortable for very long for the older lioness. She had been gone all morning and into the early afternoon before she came back into the Brook territory. She had headed southeast towards the Shores and had knocked down a mountain goat with fluffy fur from the cliffs. While she didn't take all of the meat it provided, she had torn away the pelt and used the salt of the sea to dry the skin side of the fur. It was a crude practice but the effort was needed. In reality, it would take days to fully cure but the heat of the rock face would help with that process. For now, it was doable and the salt adhered to the skin to wash and dry out the pliable side. On her back was the pelt and in her mouth was a chunk of the meat for her mate to have some food as Raizel had her fill while still at the hunting site.
The pink lioness looked super odd with her crude cape as she walked up the Brook's northern cliffs towards the den she shared. Smiling awkwardly as meat took it over, the cherry blossom saw her beautiful bird sunning herself. She stood there for a second, just looking at the beautiful lioness before approaching her with a muffled chuff. Setting down the piece of meat, she shook the fur cape to the ground and laid it out to continue to dry.

Good morning sleepyhead.Chuckling, she rubbed her crown against @Darcy's own before shifting to clean herself.

Sunny weather seemed like a rare occurrence as of late, but hopefully with their den being higher up now there shall be no more flooding. That and it was a cave so if it crumbled in from mud well the brook itself might have a bigger problem. For now she purred with her front legs stretched out and head resting on them. The sun’s rays soaking into her long fur warming up her stiff joints and muscles felt so nice. Maybe even nice enough to go on a walk and see where @Raizel had gotten off too.
Yet as she thought about it a curious sight came to her eyes. There was a funny looking goat making their way up the cliff side towards her. Licking her lips she lifted her head and then smiled. That was no goat. It was a silly little pink lioness. Hearing the chuffs she joyfully returned them with some of her own. "Good morning or well afternoon. You certainly have been busy." She commented looking at all the goodies the blossom had returned with. "Might that looks pretty tasty." She added as she got up to move closer walking past the food and to Raizel to attempt to groom her as well by aiming to place a gentle kiss across her cheek.

The beautiful bird that was sunning herself against the cliff outside their shared den and pink gaze couldn't veer away from her mate. The funny appearance of the Lead Hunter as a wanna-be goat as she came up the cliffside caused @Darcy to shift her head up to look at Raizel.
It is so different being on rock that I just had to get us something comfortable to sleep on. And something fresh to eat.Giggling, she purred at the affections from her wife. Her wife. Words that she never thought to come true. Purring softly at Darcy, Raizel motioned at the goat meat.
Eat, eat. I took my own share before I left the Shores.

She had meant that grooming @Raizel had looked tasty but that was just her being a silly little weirdo. Smiling she was happy to see her blossom and appreciated the hard work she did. Out of the two the breadwinner was clearly her darling wife. Darcy could hardly believe that she had a wife, let a long two of them. Hopefully soon Arachnae could join them here at least for a visit if not anything else. "I am sure it we’ll make a wonderful bed." She cooed looking at the goat skin. "It does look rather soft and thank you for the food." She added as she nibbled elegantly on the meat. She wanted to get Raizel a gift too but with how dangerous her favorite flower was that was out. Hmm maybe she’d go hunting for a bird? Though a pink flamingo feather might just blend in. "Raizel if you had to pick what would you say your favorite color feather is?" She questioned softly not saying why but asking nonetheless as she sat there and looked around.

Pink gaze stayed upon the beauty of the lioness who gave her such sweet company.
Only the best for you.Raizel hadn't missed the fact that @Darcy was an older lioness and knew that she needed the extra comforts. Purring softly, Raizel watched as her beloved ate the meal. Smiling at her beautiful bird, a question was asked.
Color feather?Pondering, she shifted to stand and then moved closer to her beautiful bird. Whispering in her ear,
As golden as your eyes to be as orange as the sun is set in the dusk.Where the trio would be able to dance and sing into the night together.

Oh only the best? Well she’ll for sure will have to make sure she brings stuff back to help @Raizel out. Maybe a nice gazelle or a Dik-Dik? Surely if she brought one of those back her blossom could use the pelt to make something out of? Or they could have a little meal together and then they could put the leftovers in the pride cache? Whatever happened she just wanted to be helpful to her mate and to the pride. "Oh stop you’re going to make me blush dear." She replied looking away feeling her face being to become hot from the honey words of the pink lady. "Orange feathers, hmm now that’s a bird color you don’t see often." Commenting as she tried to remember ever seeing a bird that color in Amaryllis.

Smiling at her beautiful bird, she thought that it had been all just a dream and she flew away. But the more time she spent with the lioness, Raizel couldn't imagine being anywhere else. With anyone else. Even though @Darcy was also with Arachnae, Raizel was not naive to the polyamorous concept as it was a common occurrence back in Gaia.
The feather is a rare color. In the Jungles of Gaia, there were these parrots. They had orange feathers and I would pick up the fallen ones on the jungle floor for luck before a hunt. I haven't seen any while I've lived here.Thinking for a moment, she then added,
I am okay with whatever you want to give me, love.

As @Darcy finished eating, Raizel just watched her while she waited for her wife to say something. Can't talk with your mouth full after all.
I would love to go with you. I haven't been out that way in a while.Musing at the hunts she had done, she knew they needed some more furs to line the den. The sun soon disappeared behind heavy clouds and rain fell upon them. At the suggestion from her beautiful bird, Raizel picked up the fur to make sure it didn't get wet while Darcy picked up the meat. Moving to get under the cover of their little cave, she set the fur down flat on the ground. Shifting it to make a nice comfy bed before shifting to look at her wife with a smile.
I know it's not much, but over time, I know we can fill this den with love and trinkets.
