Thankfully, Ember was blissfully naive to whatever strain there was between the Rainforest and the Hollows. Something that if she did know, she would likely choose to ignore anyways given how little she cared for drama and theatrics. Ember liked fighting, but only for the adrenaline that it presented and nothing more. Ember didn't care for glory or blood, just the sickeningly sweet rush. There have been several hunts led by some of our hunters and non-hunters, a couple pride meetings... more to come, I'm sure. There were also a few births that had revolved around Alexander but that didn't really seem like something to bring to public knowledge and she highly doubted that @Occam or @Ryker were interested in such information or would want to attend those if they weren't involved. Ember sure hadn't. From there, it didn't seem like their other questions were to her so she let the fly buzz into the Firnen's court.

Ryker shrugged lightly, "There's more than one kind of strength." Physical was most obvious, but he knew perfectly well one's strengths could lie elsewhere. His own were varied, and the less obvious kept that way on purpose. "If you want a rank, you'll have to fight for it. Either challenge another member, or if no one shows, I'll test you myself." Unless his wife chose to do so in his place, anyway. He could still learn enough from observing, after all. "Ranked members are expected to defend the pride when needed, so I need to know they can at least handle themselves. Other than that, you'd be expected to patrol, and hunt, and whatever else to make sure the pride stores are well stocked. Higher ranks are expected to be out here recruiting, too." It was all pretty standard, really. If they could follow pride law, and do their part, without being too likely to go down in the first few seconds of a fight, he was reasonably satisfied.

The bonding events sounded like pretty standard pride events. Nothing special about those. Slightly disappointing if bonding was meant to be this big thing for the pride. Occam really would have thought that there would have been more to it all than that.

And then on the other side it was again just standard. Was that really all there was? Just the standard things to be found? The male supposed he really should have expected that. All those traditions were had to break after all. Still he was weighing both options carefully.

And by carefully that meant flipping the fish into the air and seeing which way the head landed in order to pick out which pride he would be paying homage to. The fish ended up gaping at Ryker. "Mr. Flopsy says he wishes to go to the Rainforest so lead the way." Occam then cast a glance over to the woman once again. "Sorry, Mr. Flopsy has spoken." And with that the male grabbed the fish by the tail and waited to be led towards his soon to be new home.

Ember looked quietly to the fish that @Occam dropped onto the ground and truly had no idea what was going on until the rogue spoke. Eyes squinted in confusion as he mentioned mr flopsy and for a second that it was in reference to her and her floppy ears. Eventually she understood that he had used it as some sort of "game" to choose for him. Cute was her first thought but, unfortunately, that amusement was lost on her rather plain and near expressionless face that she had grown far too used to using when she was a rogue for several years. Can't argue with Mr. Flopsy. She shrugged, not at all burdened by the unsuccessful venture and gave a tight-lipped smile and a nod to @Ryker, whom she now knew to be the High Sovereign himself of the Rainforest, as well as Occam who had been a rogue but now would wave the Rainforest's banner. exit ember

As far as methods used to make decisions went, well, Ryker had seen worse. The fish flipped, and landed, and gaped up at him as he raised a brow at the thing as if it expected him to save it. "Smart fish," he smirked in amusement. Didn't really matter how the guy had made his choice, since he'd ended up making the right one in the end.

With a gesture of his head to invite @Occam to follow, Ryker would turn and begin the walk back to Firnen. Along the way, he would fill the man in on the important points like rules and allies and such, but also whatever he might want to know about good fishing or hunting spots. Or whatever.

The woman didn't seem too upset by his choice. Or rather the fish's choice. Perhaps the cave pride wasn't that hard up that missing out on a potential member was something that would greatly affect whatever happened with the pride. And the male didn't seem to mind with his way of choosing either. In fact the forest leader even seemed to approve of it. Or more so approve of him choosing to make the Rainforest his home.

"For you." The male gifted the fish to his new leader as he followed along after the Firnenan King. He listened to Ryker speak of all the important things that he would need to know in order to integrate himself into the pride. He peppered in some questions of his own when he had them.
