Eventually, it became obvious what their intended target was and she instantly regretted not having shown up to help them. A giraffe of all things but it was far too late as they all sprang into action to take it down. Leaving Laerra to simply huff quietly to herself as she spectated. Watching marvelously as they worked to take it down without so much as a scratch from the looks of it. Once she saw the giraffe with no breath left to give, she shuffled her way out. Pushing herself against a few palm trees on the way out and shifting through some sand with a bowed shoulder. Covering herself in as much debris as she could so that she would continue to leave no trace that she had ever been there. Still very much so annoyed with herself for not having jumped in to help bring down such a tall behemoth, but she had stayed hidden the whole time which meant that her disguises were working well. exit laerra

Being able to help other lions out that weren't exclusively the Summit or even Vermeda felt nice for a change. Combining together to take down a singular giraffe that had wandered a bit too far into foreign territory. A land in which lions were plentiful and every moment could be your very last, to which this Giraffe had been lovingly coerced by Maua's insistence to wander here. To feed the gathered and bring sustenance to their homes. So as the prey fell, Talisa caught her breath and mumbled her genuine prayer beneath her breath. The same one that she always did in her own pride lands but out here, it was done quietly; out here some wouldn't understand but in her own home they knew that this was what had to be done. To give thanks to her Creator for their gift and to bless those that ate from it. Talisa tried her best to look to each hunter with grace before bowing out, leaving them this meal to sort through. exit talisa

Many from a prior hunt seemed to have flocked to this one, as well, and as the maroon woman approached and spoke, Lucien would let out a deep yet short chuckle. "Our stomachs seem to be like-minded." A boyish smirk curls his lips, golden eyes now flickerin' over toward the tigeress as she spoke. He catches the wink she throws at him and he replies with a wink back of his own. "I'm hopin' somethin' like the last hunt." Their last hunt ended with more than enough meat to fill all their bellies, and with a large huntin' party again (this time a cheetah joinin' in, as well) Lucien was hopin' for another big creature.

He gives a bob of general greetin' to the rest of them before movement catches his attention. Skull turns, eyes now glancin' at a giraffe; it would seem as though the gods here were smilin' down upon them again. He moves slowly and silently toward it, not lungin' until it was time. But when the time does come does he barrel forward, leapin' at a leg and bitin' down hard. He also wraps front legs around it, and as the giraffe stuters and falls to the ground he moves in toward the neck, graspin' it tightly between jaws. He lets go only when it is no longer movin', and with a satisfied half roar does the cowboy do the same as last and settles down to dig in.

Alester Valour

The hunt was thrilling, even to he who was not a hunter by trade. Some part of the primal instinct to hunt and kill lingered as a roar in his ear with every step. With every heartbeat as the excitement grew and awe as their target appeared. Alester could not claim to have ever taken down an animal so large. A giant of the savannah had wandered onto the sandy shores something that would prove a fatal mistake...

The young lion followed the others, his silver gaze watchful on their movements and actions. He was content with following their path and direction. As the hunt set in and the lions and creatures around him moved to kill. The giant stumbled and fell when its limbs were grabbed. Alester aware of the danger of the giant's feat stays back letting the more experienced hunters trip the giraffe. And trip it does, the giant falls its life cut short as the hunters claim their victory. Blood drips from his jaws as he lets go watching as the golden hunter calls out their victory.

Alester hums pleased and excited from the hunt but also the coming feast. The giraffe will feed them all. Settling down in a free spot the pink bard rests his nose against the animal's fur. A quiet prayer was sent to the goddess Maua, a thanks for both the food and the safety of the hunters. But afterward, he feasts alongside those who remain after the hunt.

The hunting call had gathered more bodies as Raizel waited. Talisa was there again as well and the pink lioness dipped her head to the Summit ruler. Pink gaze glanced around as they awaited their target. An adult giraffe was going to be the prey on this hunt. Once it was spotted, she would ready herself before leaping into action. With the help of the entire hunting party, the giraffe was taken down with ease. Her claws and teeth had done the work and the reward was dispersed to everyone who helped. She took her own bit of meat to fill up her stomach in a small meal before taking a chunk to put in the Brook's cache. Heading back home, she took her time to help save her energy.

Leilani stays silent and ever watchful as others join. She takes note of their appearances, pink gaze observing and shifting from one to the next. The rather unusual sight of a giraffe wandering on the shore would then catch the hunter's attention, brow quirking while she focused in on their hopeful meal. She waits until it is time and then moves into action; abyss form moves around the giraffe, keeping it from escaping while the much more stronger lions that had gathered go for the kill. She watches it fall to the shore and sand spews up into the air from impact, Leilani shielding her face and eyes with a lifted forepaw. It wouldn't be until the commotion is over that her paw places itself back down, and as she pads closer to their prey she begins to fill her belly before slipping away quietly.

Some of us fall off the beaten path

Azhira’s eyes wandered from the pair when another approached, offering greetings as he did so. She turned, finding the pink hues of the new lion - thought he was missing a signature look - his mane. Azhira lingered on the reasons why he might not have a mane - though, in her head, of course. She had enough sense not to outright ask a stranger personal questions like that. In response to @Alester , she smiled, “Hey there, sugar. Thanks for joinin’ us.”

It was soon after that a familiar face and form joined them - @Aria . He nodded in her direction, but since she was not particularly here to gather information, it didn’t matter if those around her knew that they knew each other. She closed the distance between them, leaving the sides of those who began the hunt, and aiming to slide her body gently along Aria’s with a loud purr. She hadn’t responded to his comments, but would come out along the opposite side of him when she made her way around him.

When the lions surrounding them began to move, that was the only signal Azhira needed to know that the hunt had started. Beyond, further down the shore, a Giraffe stood tall and awkward in the wet and sticky sand. Following close behind at a neat trot, she’d lend her skills to the hunt by blocking and steering the creature into the waiting jaws of her party.

When the giraffe was downed, she’d wait a moment before taking her share of the prize. “Later gator,” she’d say to @Aria before picking up her piece of meat and trotting off with it. /exit

When @Azhira sidled up alongside Aria, he nudged his head into her neck. The tigress' distinct scent is comforting, inspiring him to try his best by her presence. Their prey is a giraffe, of all creatures. What on Amaryllis, mused Aria with a glance at the others for their reactions. His gaze focused upon the imposing herbivore, anticipation rippling along his form.

Relying on his agility, he dashed past the lions and harassed the giraffe. They circled the beast, luring it toward the larger felines. After a struggle, the golden male ended the prey's life, wet sand dispersing into the air. Aria sneezed, shutting their eyes to prevent irritation.

The cheetah waited for the others to feed, before strolling toward the kill. The madame's goodbye caused Aria to chuckle, tongue rasping against bloodied lips. “In a while, crocodile.”
