He really should learn to read the room better. Where he might not plan to do serious harm to the girl something about her seemed to be different within moments thought he didn’t know what. Whatever it was he still had no interest in harming a pride mate new or old. One didn’t need to be a bloody mess after each fight. Being sore and bruised was enough best not to give the enemy something to grab on to during battle. Speaking of grabbing onto he felt not just her grab his neck but he was then surprised with the strength and boldness of the young woman as their skulls collided. His head hurt and he snarled at the ringing now in his pinned ears but this was still a fight. Jaws opening he attempted to take a step back before he tried to move forward and attempted to bite her chest in a fake bite. Not really pressure behind it just mostly drool. At the same time he tried to slam the top of his now sore head up into her bottom jaw. He was stumbling a bit in the sand still rather dizzy from the impact of the headbutt.

i fight him, @Vigdis says, and he spares @Dagge another glance. from his limited experience with the man, he certainly would not turn it down. still, his head tilts — looking between his daughter and the sovereign. there is something like a lead fighter, yes? he says, gaze lingering upon @Tiamat for confirmation. it’d be up to her regardless of who won their little tussle. his shoulders roll in a casual little shrug as if to say that's what all that was about. they waste no time getting into it and the skagos punk slides back a step, giving the two sparring lions plenty of room — and tries not to feel hurt that she hadn’t wanted to fight him for it.

ooc: narsil technically holds lead fighter but kai hasn't requested a change her rank in pride updates so I haven't moved her to it on the pride page/its not fully official - if Vigdis wins then she can have the open gentry spot and move to lead fighter if she chooses to later

The girl immediately chose to fight for a rank, turning to her former lead fighter, @Dagge with a challenge. She hadn't quite been expecting the girl to challenge now, but Tiamat was not exactly disappointed by the action. @Hákon turned to her, questioning the ranks, and Tiamat nodded her head. "There is, but Narsil holds it currently," she answered. Dagge was gentry now, though the change was recent. "If your daughter wins she can choose from what is open. If she loses she can always beat Narsil up later," she finished with a smirk and a glint in her eye. She would encourage fighting for rank to show off and sharpen their skills.

She watched as the two flung themselves at each other. Dagge was strong, even if he was gentle with his pridemates. He was useful in battle regardless. But @Vigdis clearly had strength behind her swings and Tiamat watched eagerly to see who would come out on top.

Vigdis wasn't prepared for the rage that coursed through her, likely stemming from Ingvild who was nothing but rage and ire. Immediately she sees stars the very instant her skull slams into Dagge's. The move probably hadn't been the smartest, but Ingvild would do anything to get an upperhand against an opponent, even if it came with consequences to herself. Dagge's teeth barely graze her chest, though Vigdis knew had he actually been trying he would have lanced the skin. His drool runs down her chest in driplets and she doesn't have much time to react when his skull is slamming into her chin. Her teeth clang together painfully and immediately she can feel the beginnings of a bruise forming in her jawline. Vigdis would snap downward then in an attempt to nip at his right ear, if anything to possibly discourage him from slamming into her again.

His head was hurting quite a lot from her headbutt and him his thick skull making contact with her jaw. That surely was an effective move on her part but he wasn’t sure a good one as every second counted in battle and they both seemed a little dazed. At least to some degree. Feeling her fangs nip at his ear he growled more at himself for not pinning it back after his last attack. Feeling a bit of blood roll down his head he pinned his ears as best he could and squinted his eyes to keep out his own blood from getting in them. As he did this he would attempt to reach out with his front right paw and attempt to wrap it behind her front leg to try and trip her.

She could feel his ear between her teeth and though Ingvild would have liked to wrench it from it's place on his head Vigdis fought for control. She released him but not in time to avoid puncturing the appendage. Blood dribbles down his face and there is satisfaction that comes with knowing she had caused it. Though her head was still pounding from the aftermath of the headbutt, she would likely have a migraine for days to come. Dagge grabs hold of her front right leg and pulls, causing her to be wrenched forwards. Instead of fighting the forward momentum Vigdis would allow herself to fall into him, this time though her jaws agape and aiming to latch onto his lower jawline as her chest brushes against his own. Though for the most part Vigdis didn't really attempt to bite him this time, not like before at least. The fight was winding down and she didn't want to truly injure her pridemate, that wouldn't look good on the resume.

This fight was over and he believed that the points had been made. Having his lower jawline attacked made him recoil his head. He felt her fangs rake against it but he stepped backwards. So just light scraps accorded though he was aware that had she wanted to do serious damage she probably could have. Still he felt like the show had came to an end and he puffed out his chest. "Enough. You bite good but still can learn. Always could learn." He commented admitting that even he could learn. Panting heavily he knew the rank of lead fighter was taken already so as he looked at @Vigdis he questioned @Tiamat with a muse-full question. "What of Barony?" It was a rank higher than lion or lioness.

They were both a bit winded and rightfully so. Her skull was throbbing, she'd be sure to curse Ingvild later on in the quiet of her new den. Enough. You bite good but still can learn. Always could learn. What of Barony? The words were gibberish to her and so she would glance over to her fader, though she assumed that Barony would be a rank that she would be capable of holding. "That is good." She says in confirmation with confidence oozing from her pores. She dips her head at @Tiamat before taking a few large strides towards the Queen. "Can I join then? With that?" She wonders aloud, hoping to have proved herself worthy of the rank.

At last the fight draws to a close, with @Dagge coming out victorious. But @Vigdis had certainly held her own during the fight and that was not something that Tiamat was willing to discount. After all, winning and losing was only half the battle. There was so much more to fighting than simply the ending.

"Very good," she commented, with a nod of her head in affirmation of what Dagge had to say. "And yes, Barony would be an excellent position to start." It seemed that the girl was interested in it as she followed up Dagge's statement with a question directed towards the Lagoon queen.

"The rank is yours," she replied with a nod. "Welcome to the Lagoon, Vigdis." And then Tiamat smiled, glad to see her ranks filling out a bit and happy that one of @Hákon's children had decided to join them. Everyone would win in this situation.

"If you need anything, feel free to call for me. I will leave you to get settled in." And with that she nodded to them all one last time before slipping away to attend to some queenly duties.
