Sickeningly, in the middle of the fight, Cirilla's mind seems to move to Dumah and to what she felt for him. Awe, wonder, curiosity, and a strange sense of protection seemed to surround her when she neared the medium-sized male. He was not much bigger than her, but the aurora he seemed to give off was one in which Cirilla could get behind.

Cirilla's teeth make contact with Dumah's right forelimb, her jaw closing around the limb. She could have been cruel and chose to break the fragile bones in it, but instead she attempts to tighten her grip to immobilize the ankle.

Dumah rams himself into her left shoulder, which jolts the woman backwards. A low gruff rumble escapes from her otherwise occupied lips, eyes seeking to look up at Dumah before watching his jaws clamp around her muzzle. His teeth slice the delicate flesh that housed her teeth, and a second low rumble erupting from her throat.

In a last ditch, yet calculated, attempt, Cirilla attempts to slam her head upwards in a bid to dislodge Dumah's teeth from her muzzle. Simultaneously, Cirilla would bring her right paw up and, with outstretched claws, attempts to bat at Dumah's face.

Somewhere in the chaos of their struggle, Dumah becomes aware of details. Cirilla's scars. She has so many now. The pale skin that cuts across her powerful form. The tattered remains of her left ear. She is wild as the sea, and part of him wants to drown in her.

Her fangs tear at the skin, sending an electrical sensation along the limb as Cirilla bites down. Even the impact of his thrust does not loosen her grip on him. Closer now, Dumah feels soft flesh against his mouth and briefly the hiss of her breath as he takes her jaws in his own. He is close enough to Cirilla to feel the echo of her growl against his chest. He wonders if she can feel his heart racing. What was she thinking?

Dumah's head is shoved forward, and he grunts. His vision swims with stars. Click. The sound of his teeth making unplanned contact shocks him. The full force of Cirilla's blow against his cheek makes him stumble. His knees buckle and he falls backwards. The adrenaline starts to wear off and there is pain. The cut on his face is shallow, but he still feels it pulling as he grits his teeth at the woman. He is glad this is just a friendly spar. Dumah settles into a defensive stance as he takes in his opponent.

It all happened so quickly. She makes contact with @Dumah so easily, but then he stumbles. His knees buckle and he falls backwards. As he does, Cirilla releases all the grip that she had on her sparring partner. Her sides heave as she takes some steps backward, taking a moment to regain her breath. She does not feel the pain from her injuries (even though most were superficial), but she shakes it off none-the-less. The lioness offers the male a smile. Well fought. How did it feel to dance? She asks, curious to know what it felt like to fight against someone as scarred as her.

Dumah feels the pressure of Cirilla's jaw ease as she lets go. The tension in his chest eased as he let out a tightly held breath. A shiver ran through his body as the dizziness subsided. His gaze still held hers with intense scrutiny until he blinked and his face softened. Without the rush of battle, sound returned. The drum of his heartbeat was loud in his ears, as was his ragged breathing.

@Cirilla asked him a question, but it sounded far away. Dumah swallowed, aware of the sudden dryness of his throat, and brushed his tongue against his teeth. There was a sensation of blood on his flanks, and a quick examination confirmed that it was a small cut. His body ached from the unaccustomed stress and strain it had been subjected to, but he knew he had been spared the full brunt of their fighting prowess.

He searched his mind for the right words; Exhilarating? Terrifying?

“It was liberating.” Dumah eased into a sitting position, a look of satisfaction on his features. “I realise I need more practice,” he chuckled breathlessly, and his next words had a boyish ring to them. “How was it for you? I was no match for your strength, but I hope you found some amusement in our scuffle.”

Cirilla studied the nervous form of @Dumah as she waited for his answer to her question. She knew that she had the capability to be fierce and unforgiving, but she had tried to keep that side of her reigned in - at least, for now. Eventually, his words break the silence and she smiled. I'm more than happy to help you practice, and teach you the things I have learnt over the years. Cirilla offered, curious to see if Dumah would be wise enough to take her up on such an offer.

Topic turns onto her, and she nods. It is always good to stretch legs and get the practice in. You certainly have some strengths, She compliments, rising to her paws and shaking off any loose fur that might have become dislodged in the fight. Come on, Cirilla says as she turns around to head deeper into the chambers. Let me know you around this place. You might just learn a thing or two. She does not wait for Dumah to say yes or no, but instead begins to walk deeper into the depths of the chambers.

Dumah's lips curved at Cirilla's suggestion of skill-sharing. The woman had proven her capability in his eyes; the heights he could reach with her influence were unimaginable. "I would greatly appreciate that." He would not squander this opportunity, regardless of the hardships he might encounter. His green eyes glimmered at the prospect of taking control of his life, no longer beholden to an uncaring god.

As she rose, he watched her, his ears pricked at the compliment. Dumah nearly objected to her generosity, but refrained. His gaze fell to the ground as he absorbed her words, which appeared sincere and without ill will. Nonetheless, it required a moment for his self-consciousness to subside.

The male rose to his feet at her invitation, and kept pace at her side as she offered to be his guide to the caverns. His head swam with warmth and euphoria, and he allowed himself to be swept up in its embrace.
