(Set after the IS challenge, need a level 2 or higher Medic for healing maiming wound: broken nose bridge.. I put in a request for this to be moved from the shore to the jungle)

The trek was long and very painful. He was still bleeding from his many wounds from the encounter with Roarke. His pelt was stained red where it used to be a light gray color and his black held a sheen from the blood. There was a still limp from his last healing injury which caused the trip back home very slow. He was a fool to show up and his rear got handed to him. While he actually didn't understand who was who in the fights and why they fought, he just knew that the Cove was enemies with the Summit. He was loyal to Gauthier.

As he came up the Jungle heading towards the Mire, he decided to take a dip in the water to get cleaned up. The salty water where it met the same waters as the Shore stung his wounds and he hissed to himself. His nose was killing him but the bleeding when he exhaled at least started to clot up. He didn't know what hurt more at that point. His wounds or his pride. Especially knowing that Gauthier saw him yielding at the very end versus seeing the battle that happened to put him in that position. Shaking his head slowly, he dipped his entire body into the water to clean off before lifting his head out. His mane hung heavily around his face as it dripped.

Slowly stepping out of the water, Keligan headed to the edge of the Jungle where the Mire made their home. He knew that they were allies of the Cove and he was sure that they had a Medic. Hopefully so. He needed one due to the broken nose bridge was making it hard for him to breathe. While the leg muscle maiming from Vermier was a hassle to heal, it eventually did. But it would be nice to not struggle to breathe.

Patchouli had never considered herself to be a quality healer by any means. Everything she had learned had either been self taught or explained to as a teen within lands far different from this one. She had more practice now, made to fix up a poor boy who had lost much of his face. She wondered often if he might have been better restored under the care of a different healer.

Today she had just so happened to be venturing out, despite her fatigue. She ought to stay home and sleep, but a stronger part of her will wished for her to keep looking for her daughters, she missed them terribly. Instead she would find a lion who did not appear so well off. "Are.. you alright sir?" She asked, head low and eyes never quite meeting his. It was easier than usual, her focus set instead upon his nose. Maybe he was going to the mire, though he did not smell of the pride.

The Cove lion was not alone for long as it seemed someone was leaving the Mire's boundaries. Ears perked up at the sounds of someone approaching and then the sound of a voice. Periwinkle gaze cast upon the light colored lioness as he panted slightly. He hurt so bad and the adrenaline from the fight was already long gone. His nose was still bleeding but it was slowing up. Her gaze was focused on said broken nose as he shook his head very slowly. No, I'm on the way to the Mire to find a healer. The pride is allies with the Cove and we don't have a Medic. So I'm hoping they have one available to help me fix my nose. Not knowing at the lioness in front of him was the Lead Medic for the Mire.

Patchouli would frown as he answered, seeking a medic but finding it necessary to tell her that his pride was allied with the mire. Would Alaric discourage her from healing someone from an enemy pride if they were in need? He had never told her as much, and even if he had she didn't imagine she would ever turn anyone away.

"I will.. gather some herbs for you. Is anything else wrong aside from your nose sir?" She questioned, already beginning to make a list of what she might need for him. She would rather not go all the way back to her den for what she needed, but she would likely have to.

The blackened beast was so sore from the claw and teeth marks that riddled his body from the war. His battle with Roarke was one of the toughest that he had encountered in his life, so far. The broken nose bridge felt the worse as he couldn't inhale without the nerves feeling like they were on fire. At the question from the little patchwork lioness, he nodded slowly. A simple poultice that I could take back with me to prevent infection of these claw and bite marks would be appreciated as well. He was more concerned with the effects of his nose bridge healing wrong. Flicking his ears for sounds around them, he shifted to sit down, very slowly.

The nose would be her biggest challenge it seemed, the other various cuts able to mend on their own. The suggested poultice would not hurt, and she would silently nod at this before she would turn to leave. "Rest here for a bit if you would sir, I will collect what you need." She encouraged, though if he should deny her she would not stop him coming along.

She would slip back into the Mire, trudging along the shortest path to her den, which would require her to cross through some muddy bogs, something she wouldn't have imagined doing back when she first came to live here. She was less concerned about how she looked of late.

After a time she would come back, a poultice prepped and carefully tucked within a small hollowed stone. Aside from that, additional herbs and some bandages. "With your permission, I would ask you to lie down so I may sanitize the wound. It may be painful at first." She would wait then, focus once more on his nose, eyes never lifted any higher.

The Mire's Lead Medic was willing to help him as he requested and he was thankful. When @Patchouli asked for him to stay where he was, he nodded slowly as she ran off back towards the Mire. He knew that it would take time to get back to her pride land, prepare her medicines and come back. The Cove lion was in no rush at the moment.

After some time, the lioness returned. Then she gave him a request, in which he did so. Slipping himself down to a sphinx position, very carefully, Keligan waited patiently. It would sting, the medicines, but it would hurt a lot less than the crushing of the bone between Roarke's teeth. Staying very still, he let the Medic do her work.

The male would comply easily, eager to have the pain ebb no doubt. She would move quickly in her work, not entirely confident in her ability to do the best possible job for him. Hopefully, someone else would eventually take her place, a more competent healer. Until then, they would all just have to take what they could get.

She would apply the medicine, waiting for whatever pain it might cause to subside before cleaning him up some and applying a bandage. Hopefully, it would prove an effective attempt, though in the back of her mind she worried she might make some sort of mistake.

Medic lvl 2 roll:

Rolling 1d10: 8

Rolling a 1 is considered a critical fail, and 1 OOC week will be added to the healing time.
Rolling a 2-5 is considered routine care, and there will be no changes to the healing time.
Rolling a 6-10 is considered a success, and the healing time will be cut in half.

The blackened beast knew the importance of healers and to listen to their words when something was needed. In her case, @Patchouli told him to lay down and stay still. So Keligan did so. The Mire's Lead Medic was chastising herself but as she worked on his nose, he felt relief starting to come. The medicinal herbs that she placed on his broken nose bridge started to work as the pain subsided. The bandage was placed over the wound and he let out the breath that he had apparently been holding. Periwinkle gaze tried to look down at her work but just ended up cross-eyed. Instead he straightened his eyeballs and smiled slightly. Thank you. It's already starting to help. Looking to the hollowed stone that she had brought, he added in, So what is that? He wasn't a Medic of any sort but to know what was being used, he could apply it for any future medical needs.

Patchouli could only wait and hope as she looked over her work, trying to think if she had forgotten a step, if her bandage attempt was poor, or if a medicinal herb had been used improperly. When no look of pain or distress followed, she could relax a little. He seemed to be breathing better at least, and would even offer a smile in his gratitude. She would return it, though the warmth never made it to her eyes, which appeared as tired and far away.

"This is the poultice you inquired about sir. Take it with you and rub it into your more bothersome cuts to protect against infection. Use it sparingly and try not to ingest too much of it." She informed quietly. She didn't imagine it would be too dangerous if eaten, but it could be a bit more worrisome if done in large amounts.

"If that is all you needed sir, I bid you farewell and hope you recover quickly. If you lack aid or.. if your nose gets worse, I am sure the king would seek me out to attend to you." She said, bowing her head low. She would turn to continue on her way then, not realizing until a while later that she had not offered @Keligan a name, nor learned his. She supposed it didn't matter, he could find her easily enough if he truly needed to. If her healing had been good there was a chance they would never cross paths again. anyway.
