There had been many new faces that had joined them over the last few months, and they had all collected in the Moonlit Chasm, tucked away in the many caves and the underbrush that covered each square foot of the cave. The moon door - or sun door - shone the warming rays of the sun down upon them that morning. The vegetation in the cave was starting to dry out for the approaching winter. However, it didn’t make it any less beautiful.

Azhira sat upon a rock in the midst of the cavern, chuffing out to all her little birds to join her in the main room. She had wanted to make an announcement, to encourage those who may have been new here to claim a part of the cave for themselves, or to openly consider this their new home. She had quite a few different birds under her wings now, and it was probably a good idea to address them all at once.

With the sun blanketing her in its warm embrace, Azhira flicked her tail patiently as she awaited her birds to come forth and join her in the cavern.

Cardinal was never far from where Azhira wandered, or where any of the birds of the aviary for that matter. His eyes squeaked and watched all that moved with precise care. He comes short of where the tigress is laying now, his expressions firm and yet gentle, only with her though, as he tends to be more series with others. Maroon body stands out against the darkness of the shadows, his braided head turning to look beyond his reach and then back to @Azhira as he hears shuffling, but who is it that is coming into the Labyrinth, softly his nose inhales the air of the chasm, drinking in who ever it was making their way to the depths of where they both waited. The entire time Cardinal doesnt speak, doesn't say anything, he stands guard, watches from his seat, an invisible safety net. The only thing that shows the tigress any symbolic behavior towards her was a gentle flick of his ear to her, a silent sign, acknowledgement of sorts.

It had not been particularly long since Orchid had met the Aviary and hosted a ball for a night of fun- but she had known in the beginning this day would come. She had pledged her loyalty to act as a spy for them, her title of Sparrow slightly disappointing in comparison to how pretty being a "swan" sounded, but with her paw in marriage already belonging to a pair of brothers, she simply didn't fit the role.

She felt odd, doing things for herself this way, trying to make use of her life after all of it that she had wasted. She wanted to make the Black family worth something again, to make herself worth something; and she had to work for it in order to do it.

She had come to know these tunnels better since joining them, their matron helping her learn the pathways more so she wouldn't be as lost. When she arrived, only the tigress and @Cardinal would be there. She approached with a warm smile, delicately fluttering her lashes as she gave a bow to the Aviary leader. Lady @Azhira, eet eez lovely to zee you again. She purred, taking a seat to wait for the others to arrive.

Her time had been spent casually soaking up sunshine and enjoying her existence. The songbird was not fat when @Azhira called for them. She had found a sunny spot to warm her silvery pelt with and she rose to answer her. She sees that @Cardinal is already present - seeming as watchful as ever. @Orchid is a pretty face she hadn’t mingled with, but she liked the soft purple hues the lioness was draped in. She found a spot not far off from Azhira to recline onto her haunches to sit among the growing group of Aviary members. It would be nice to have everyone so close again.

She's been waiting for this.

She was a creature of luxury, and had lavished in the limbo the last few months had provided. Hardly working and instead focusing on herself, spa days ( and nights ) galore. Never before had she lived such a quiet life -- the few clients who'd found their way to her bed had been pampered and spoiled, but no one had been more spoiled than her.

@Azhira's call, though, means all of that is coming to an end.

She can't find it in herself to be sad for it: instead, she approached the group with excitement. Bubbling low in her veins, the leggy woman sweeps upon the scene with a pleasant, pretty smile. She approaches the tigress, hoping to press close -- her cheek against AZHIRA's if she'll allow. A throaty little purr rumbles from her, voice quiet as she whispers to her friend: it looks good on you. There was no replacing their previous madame, but azhira has dulce's whole support.

Stepping back, she seats herself at @Esha's side -- offering her a quiet purr, too. @Cardinal is noted, the red line of him always speaking to safety and protection. Her gaze lingers on @Orchid, eyes sparkling with curiosity. Fresh meat? Are you joining us too, darling? She asks the dainty woman, a little coo curling behind her canines. A few faces were missing but she Hope's they are just fashionably late, as she was.

The last month had been quiet, but no less busy. Aria attended the cache when the call rang out. The Aviary would manage for now, but with their growing flock to provide for, supporting themselves with a regular rota of hunts was key to their continued survival.

Letting that worry drift to the back of his mind, Aria headed to the central part of the caverns. Their eyes glided from the gathered felines that accounted for their makeshift family, a chirp of pleasure at seeing each in turn. And what a pretty sight they all are together, if he could be so bold! Their newly titled madame, the loving, and lovely @Azhira. The crimson bulk of @Cardinal beside her is hard to miss, or the alluring darkness of @Esha. And last but not least, pale @Dulce with her adorable bobbed tail.

Oh, but who is this, then?

Aria's head canted to one side as they studied @Orchid, tail twitching with interest. Being taller than a lion is an unfamiliar situation to the cheetah, but he did like her spotted hide. He blinked slowly in acceptance to the female. He settled down next to the newcomer, mindful to keep his paws and tail to himself for the time being. “Welcome dear. My name is Aria, what is yours?”

The little lioness had heard the chuff coming from Azhira, a call for the flock to meet her within the main room. Sin had been enjoying a light nap, her ears twitching slightly as she was awoken. She slowly got to her paws and stretched, finally and quickly padding over towards the tigress.

As she approached the main room, she noticed that perhaps she was a bit late. Hm, that might not have been a good look. She felt a slight pant of anxiety, and quickly and swiftly took a seat. She curiously took a glance at each and everyone of the individuals around, before finally turning her attention back to Azhira.

It was a few minutes until all her new birds trickled from their hiding places among the caves to join her in the main cavern. However, her gaze shone down upon them with pride as they all came out, to gather at the base of the rock she sat upon, exalting her above the rest of them.

Azhira dipped her head and smiled quietly to those that greeted her before settling in. She'd address everyone in a minute, but for now, of course, she'd acknowledge those who acknowledged her. She tittered when her friend, @Dulce , commented that the Madame position looked good on her. Hell, she never wanted to be here, and she hoped she wouldn't have to be here for long.

"Welcome to ya all, new and old members. I'm Azhira. Some of ya'll know me already, and some of ya'll don't, and that's fine. We'll all get acquainted in time." Her green eyes swept the new and old faces gathered, only seeing Dulce and Arria among those from the old group. Several new lions and lionesses had joined them for the brothel and spywork that needed to be done. "Madame Magdalene left on some emergent business, and she left me in charge to oversee things here for a while, so look at me as your new Madame. I ain't gonna be as strict as her, but I ain't runnin' a shitshow neither." She let that hang on a note of silence for a moment, looking around to the gathered faces before continuing.

"For yall that don't know - the Moonlit Chasm is our home. We work and sleep here. We guard our assets, but we don't guard it as a regular territory. Visitors are free to come and go as long as they respect our stuff and our girls. When they disrespect us, our Hawks dispatch 'em and send 'em packin.

"Ya'll are all encouraged to pick a cave you'd choose as your den. Mark it up, decorate it, whatever ya want. For those workin' as brothel girls, or Swans, please also pick a cave room off this main cavern here as ya workin' room. You'll take your clients into those caves and do your thang - for trade or information. Whatever they've got to offer. Make sure ya collect payment first."

There were several caves off the huge main cavern - the one they were in right now - and ones of all different sizes, uses, and character. Some were dark and cold, others had water and vegetation, others were just a cozy, little hole to sleep in. There were options for all preferences.

"Aside from the brothel, which is our main source of income - and by income, I mean food, information, supplies, valuables, all manner of stuff we can trade for other goods - we have a medic position, the Hummingbird, to ensure our birds are always in top shape, a guard position, the Hawk, to ensure what comes and goes respects us and our property, and finally, our spies, the Sparrows. Sparrows help us bring in useful information that we can otherwise exploit, gain an upper hand, and trade for riches and royalty with other prides, should we get lucky enough to get the juiciest bits."

"Let's just go around the room and introduce ourselves. Just give a little about where ya came from, how ya came to the Aviary, whether you'd like to join us, and what position you'd like to work here. I'll start us off." She hoped they didn't loathe her too much for requiring them to give introductions, but she wanted to at least know a bit about who she was letting into the Aviary.

"I'm Azhira. Madame Magdalene adopted me and my brother when we were about 3 months old. This business is pretty much everythin' I know. I used to be a Swan, and when the Madame comes back, that's probably what I'll do again, but for now... I get a little taste of power. I promise I won't abuse it." She offered a smile, and with that, it was someone else's cue to go next.

Much to her pleasure, she gets a glimpse of golden spots as @Aria joins them, too. A happy little rumble answers their chirp of greeting, offering the slim feline a warm, easy smile. She might never admit it but dulce was glad for all the familiar faces, pleased as punch that at least some of the original crew had lingered. Aria seats himself next to the newest face among them, and her gaze shifts to yet another new face. Stripes this time instead of spots, with bronze fur and a build that speaks to a wholly lion stature. @sin, should she look dulces way, would get a small nod of acknowledgement and a smile to boot.

Dulce was a lot of things, but You could never say she wasn't friendly.

Attention shifts as @Azhira begins to speak. It's quite the spiel, but she supposed the baseline information was good for them all to have... even if the more experienced girls had gotten this hammered into them by a face much less friendly than the tiger's. Still she stays quiet and listens intently, her little bunny tail flicking when the floor opens for introductions. She likes to think she doesn't need one, but -- why not give it a whirl?~

For those of you who don't know me, my name is dulce. She says, flashing pearly whites to the room. They were her colleagues, but it never hurt to turn on the charm early, right? I fell in with the madame magdalene at a young age, and I've been happily here ever since. I'm a swan and I already have my dens picked. I'm always around if you ever need a break or someone to talk to. Or just wanted to swap gossip. She liked gossip. With that being said she falls quiet, happy to listen to the others speak and introduce themselves.

It would not take long before the others would begin trailing in, the unique array of elegance and beauty bringing internal satisfaction to the lilac woman. These beautiful faces made her feel like she belonged, and as the ethereal, towering form of @Dulce approached and asked of her stay. The much, much smaller lioness would internally hold her breath, never quite having met a woman so much taller- and one this pretty, even. In return, Orchid would smile elegantly and nod. Oui, Mon trésor~ I am Lady Orchid Fleur, I am ze Aviary's newest sparrow.

Her words would finish with the pale beauty right as @Aria would approach and also wish to know of her, the tiny noblewoman peering up at the unknown cat. Dulce had already been an oddity to her- but she had really never seen a cheetah before. The wisps of his waistline brought a pang of jealousy to the fae, but all the while she would remain poised with a even smile. Lady Orchid Fleur, charmed. She greeted, her attention quickly being pulled away as Madame @Azhira gave her welcome to them all and her instruction of their operations. Finally, this was all truly happening. She was going to be part of something that mattered, perhaps. She hoped to make herself of use, soon.

The tigress's words would keep her enthralled until the end, having been instructed to find a den to call her own, she stood to her feet. She would stop to listen to what the pale giantess had to say before she began to make her way towards where she knew they were. She would not sleep here, at least not often, but having a place to call herself alone felt.... Special. She had a positive feeling about this.
